Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Kimi ni Todoke going from 2nd to 1st was a good surprise. Negima sales with and without the dvd bundle did very well. Over all a very good week for Weekly Shounen Magazine. I was working on the this list eariler tonight and firefox crashed on number 30 T_T, I would have gone insane if Kaiten didn't post the ranking.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Negima, Kekkaishi, and Soul Eater look to be having a good week. Ugh, Fairy Fail.

Nice to see Kimi no Iru Machi chart and ZKC should break the 100K mark.

There was some other interesting news posted on Oricon this morning:

One Piece #53's sales number passed 2.000.000!! (With another 10.259 books last week the sales numbers broke the two million mark and reached: 2.007.011 sold tankoubon)

Article on Oricon [Japanese]

Two million in a little more than half a year...not too shabby.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

yey for OP.... but from the looks of it, vol 54 and 55 will probably reach 2 million too.
how often do stuff like this happen?

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Great to see Kekkaishi sells so well! Is it Sunday's best seller?

[Kaiten]

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Conan is Sunday's bestseller. Hayate is number two, Kekkaishi is number three.

Two million copies is a huge accomplishment!! Any idea how close is it to being OP's bestselling volume?

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

One Piece defies all expectations. 50+ volumes in to its run and its sales are actually getting better. It deserves every last one, obviously, but it still never ceases to amaze me.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

ONE PIECE reached a record 170 million volumes in circulation only in japan
iit's enormous
At this rate it will exceeded the total volumes in circulation in the world for dragon ball with only his numbers in Japan

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Berserk at the top...that's what I like seeing

[Kaiten]

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

KimiTodo still in the top 10!! Hopefully the anime makes it even more popular. You never know, Nodame ends in October, Kimi ni Todoke could take it's place as the next million seller.

I'm really interested in Kanojo wa Uso o Ai Shisugiteru. Strong first week for a new shojo from a lower circulation anthology. Must have had really good fan response with two volumes released at once.

[Rejuvenation]

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Yozakura Quartet sales aren't that bad. I may actually read the manga to see how it is. Hopefully it is better than its anime. >.>

I'm surprised to see Kenichi so low though I was right on ZKC breaking 100K this week. Looks like Kekkaishi comes out on top this round.

With Fairy Fail's anime coming up I wonder if it can get boosted to 500K status or not. I'd prefer if it didn't. -__-

[Kaiten]

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Depends on how good the anime is, personally I will never know ^^

Kenichi's sales are the same for nearly every volume, part of Sunday's second tier no better. As always I'm happy to see Soul Eater sell so well.

[KuwabaraTheMan]

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Kekkaishi is holding up well; it's surpassed the previous volume's sales (at least from what we saw in the Top 30).

Berserk put together a strong showing, as well.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

@braiking boss: you should read yozakura, it's good. The anime didn't do justice to it.
Yozakura break top ten for the first time, it's now sirius top selling manga. Like I said, Soul Eater have very strong second week sales, I feel really good for it managing to beat fairy tail

[Xadyu]

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Good thing seeing Kekkaishi at the top too

I'll be relying on one of my friends to tell me about it. He isn't horribly biased towards the series at least.

lol for some reason I had it in my head that it was in the first-tier with Hayate no Gotoku and Kekkaishi.

Agreed on Soul Eater.

Ah, I'll give a read then. I didn't feel the anime was bad just that it was lacking a lot to make it a solid show. I guess the manga does all those things right.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

correct me if i'm wrong, but first volumes of Medaka and Akaboshi were released this week right? (or is it next week?)
so they didn't even get ranked?

[Akiyama]

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

That's right ruggia, they each sold less than 28,696 copies during their first week. T_T poor Medaka

I'm still happy for Ikigami, Tegami Bachi, Mago, and Toriko.

A second strong week for Kanojo wa Uso o Ai Shisugiteru and both volumes still on the rank is impressive.
