I feel bad for Nurarihyon still doing poorly, even after the 2nd season of the anime starts. Hopefully Hagoromo Gitsune will improve things.
Anime started 5 weeks ago and we are looking at votes of 8 weeks ago. we have yet to see if the Anime will affect the ratings.

Sad to see Enigma in the bottom five but at least it;s not too deep in. Kind of sad to see Magico so low, but if it;s between it and Enigma, I;d rather see Magico go. Bleach is still towards the bottom as it deserves to be for this terrible arc, and Ikkyuu is a goner from the looks of things. Glad to see Medaka completely dodged the bottom five though.

Toriko in first ? Naruto once again is not able to reach the top. This is becoming a bit ridiculous imo. The chapter of Toriko that is being ranked this week is 145, right ?

If so, how the hell did this boring chapter about the Gourmet Temple get 1º place ? Is it possible that WSJ might change the results, to whatever is better to them ? cuz i can't really believe that if the chapter ranked was 145 Toriko would get first place or even second :lmao
If this happens that means that every chapter during that week of WSJ were incredibly boring and i don't think that was the case.

ANOTHER Gintama color page? I'm not complaining, but it just had one two weeks ago. O_O The anime DVD's are selling pretty well though so I suppose that might help. Or...could this be a color page commemorating something important? I'm still very much in the camp that the series will end this year or next, so maybe this could be something that will kick start big events. I guess it depends if the current arc ends with this week's chapter...

with One Piece taking many of the votes and Bleach being as low as it is for quite a while it wouldn't be too surprising to see a fun/interlude chapter of Toriko getting the upper hand. eventually it depends on which chapter it is for Naruto and how it was received. surely the editors migle with the toc how they please though, simply to get an order of chapters that it a) sells well and b) is nice to read by default (imo) ^^

It wasn't chapter 145 that was ranked, it was 144, the one where Toriko encounters Stajun, and I was expecting a lower ranking from Naruto as the ranked chapter is 542 (Raikage's flashback) a chapter that I didn't find that good. The fact that it took third place is great. But still, you could be right regarding the change of results, Toriko may be a good manga, but I don't really think that it really deserves to be in top three every month.

Looks like Enigma and Magico are going in the Double Arts direction where as Medaka is more like Sket Dance....

I'm sure there is some editorial influence going on with the TOC for certain series.. it's obvious they are pushing Toriko as hard as they can, giving it covers with OP and Naruto instead of Bleach, ranking it #1 at times... having the first episode being a crossover with One Piece, packing 3D movies with OP... but after all that.. it just barely outsells Mago which has been ranking in the bottom 5 for a long time now.

Yeah the manga is getting a sales boost but I'm sure they would've wanted the sales boost Ao No Exorcist got for Toriko instead....

Interesting week regardless. Personally really feel out of it with the magazine as of late (I feel like I know so little and yet I'm one of the older people here), but i'll just nod and shake my head.

And yeah...seeing what happened this week in Bleach, I think Kubo is finally realizing something had to be done for survival.

Toriko's been doing really well. It's sold around 100K more in the current volume than the previous one. It's gaining in popularity slowly, like most series do. It's really rare for a series to suddenly jump really high in sales. That generally only happens when there's something about the series that appeals really well to a certain kind of fanbase, like AnE with the fantasy crowd. I mentioned it before, just reitterating.
Toriko has been ranking high in the TOC for a VERRRY long time. Even before it was ranking number 1 it was generally always in the top 5 or so. It's not fair to say when something's doing well that it's not real for some reason. Also, Mago had already had a season of anime, so of course it would be selling well. It's on its second now and Toriko is selling better than it and over 300K each volume after having an anime for much less time. Most of the manga that got to like 500K+ had long running animes by the time they got that high.

It's also impressive that Bakuman beat Naruto. People really liked that arc eith Eiji.
Hopefully magico and Enigma will do better. Both I think have done well enough to avoid cancellation at least.

Posted this in the HXH thread....might as well post it here since it is somewhat relevant.

Translated seiyuus.

I can't read Gon's.

For Killua it's Mariya Ise.
Leorio should be (can't really read it either.) Keji Fujiwara
Kurapica is Miyuki Sawashiro
Hisoka is Daisuke Namikawa.

The art does look reminicent of Nippon Animation's version, and it's confirmed they're starting from episode one. I personally love Sawashiro-san and Ise-san, so in my shallow heart, this version is looking better and better.

I have searching the Cast and their including Anime-Projects:

Klliua = Mariya Ise ---> Fairy Tail (Levy Mcgarden, Romeo Conbolt, Edolas Levy Mecgarden), Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt (Stocking), Eyeshield 21 (Riku)
Leorio = Keiji Fujiwara ---> Ao no Exorcist (Fujimoto Shiro), Death Note (Shuichi Aizawa), Fighting Spirit (Tatsuya Kimura)
Kurapica = Daisuke Namikawa ---> Gantz (Kei Kurono), Bleach (Ulquiorra Schiffer), Black Lagoon (Rock)
Hisoka = Miyuki Sawashiro ---> Fairy Tail (Ultear, Virgo, Ur), Highschool of the Dead ( Saeko Busujima ), Deadman Wonderland (Toto Sakigami)
Template made a mistake though. Hisoka should be Daisuke Namikawa, and Kurapika Miyuki Sawashiro. These are some of their roles for the curious.

@Bomber D Rufi: Ah thanks, I thought it was something wrong with the names and the supposed charakter. I haven´t read it clearly. My mistake^^

Well, as Bomber D Rufi, "this version is looking better and better", but I hope that they aren´t censored the matches so much !!

-35 points of anticipation.

Well...hopefully she turns out like Chiaki Omigawa who was pretty much detested before, but has become a powerhouse in recent years. It's just going to be hard to shake the equation Junko Takeuchi= Gon from my head. Ironically I really hate her Naruto voice, but really enjoy the Gon one.

Toriko beat Naruto again this week and Bakuman managed to do so as well. It has nothing to be ashamed about though, it still rarely ever goes lower than 3rd place. It isn't like it is undergoing the current disgrace Bleach is. Speaking of Bleach, bottom 5 ranking again. Well, Kubo is finally making a move so we are about to see if Bleach has overstayed its welcome or it really does come down to it needing Shinigami to do anything for its ranks.

Medaka is way out of the bottom 5 this week. I am extremely happy about that. I've really been enjoying this new arc as well so I'd be happy if most of it does end up ranking more outside of the bottom than in the bottom.

Ikkyu is a goner. I have heard complaints about this series left and right so I can't say I'm too surprised. If Magico keeps struggling like this it will probably join it after it had that very good start. They sure enough won't be ditching Mago over it. Double Arts syndrome appears to be a bit more common as of late. Enigma is in the bottom as well but it isn't too deep so it will probably jump back out next week.

Last but not least is Sket Dance with another very good ranking. As long as it keeps hanging around the top 5 while sometimes getting in it I'll be a happy camper. I've really been enjoying its anime and it looks to have had a positive effect on its rankings.

The chapter about the Gourmet Temple wasn't the most exciting Toriko chapter, but still I think it was better than Naruto. Naruto hasn't really been interesting lately. The chapters that's actually good doesn't reach the top either, because of the overall-impression of the latest chapters.

- At least that's what I think.

Love to see Toriko on first place, even though the ranked chapter wasn't that interesting.

Bakuman in the top is always enjoyable, especially when it's that high.

Beelzebub has deserved a better ranking, in my opinion. Enigma too.

Why the hell is Reborn that high again?!

Hello! :amuse

Reborn! is high again because the fight with Daemon was coming to an end. The fight had some interesting twists and turns which lead to learning more about the past of the Vongola Family and Daemon Spade. It also had Tsuna and Enma fighting side by side in a strong unified fashion.

The story of Reborn! is also going down a very plot oriented course with the end of the Inheritance Arc opening the door to a new arc that already has fan favorites returning and new mystery explored. In short I believe that Amano knows where she is going and the fans feel the same way.

I believe that one part of the reason that Reborn! has been up and down has been the fans worry over certain characters. The end of the arc has given the fandom a bit of peace of mind and now there is something new about to happen which will involve not just the Simon family that is new but the Vongola family with other fan favorites family members coming in take part in the action.
