Let's postpone this discussion indeed though I never had the feeling that one of my discussion partners were unreasonable (I hope so I didn't either). On the contrary, I enjoyed the discussion with them a lot since their arguments were very solid, good. I am glad that neuro's and muhyo's volume sells were posted since it proves together with psyren that manga which aren't top volume sellers can survive with ToC ratings alone for longer than people would expect.

Anyway, Mr. Prince you are quite right. In contrast to three years ago, it will be very hard for newcomers to do good. Enigma is a hit and seems to become jump's best newcomer after Beelzebub? Kuroko?. Toriko, Beelzebub and Mago aren't oldies either. Furthermore, Reborn a very prominent top 5 manga which is doing less nowadays sproves how strong the competition is

If this discussion on comparison of To Love-Ru and Psyren associated with Nurarihyon's ranking, then I think we should wait little bit more about possible cancellation of Nurarihyon. Nurarihyon only ranked low for one issue at this point, if it ranked near last for consecutive weeks, then we should proceed on dicussing about this issue.
Mago is more a slip-up, most series (not OP or Naruto) have those. People just worry their favorite series will make the space for the next series...or more HxH.

I want to make sales and ranks of it. Since it survived on ranks

Okay, but Jumbor who was instantly skilled got a new chance too to appear in another jump magazine. It is definitely a proof that those editorial departments work independent from each other. Eventually, TLR didn't get its sequel series in WSJ. TLR got a new chance in a different magazine with a different editorial staff. Same goes for the totally different jumbo.

Btw, where does that Yabuki story come from? It's the first time I heard of it
Seriously? Have you been living under a rock lol? Not only did the wife cheat on him but she also had left the household with her daughter without telling Yabuki, only for her to leave her child at her relatives place so that she would sleep with another guy. Quite cruel indeed. He's wife didn't really take care much of her daughter and overall of what was happening was affecting he's work. He ended the TLR to take care of he's daughter after the divorce (he got sole custody of their daughter) he didn't have enough time to do both thus the series ended.

Be nice :notrust

But this is the first time I've heard the whole story as well. All that was really passed around at the time was "Yabuki was having family troubles" or something to that effect.

I wasn't trying to be mean though heh. Guess it's not common knowledge then, lot's of TLR fans knows what happened though. Series didn't get cancelled because of rankings but because of the screw up shit was going on in Yabuki's life.

Further details of the whole ordeal:

Anyway, I am not a TLR fan... I never liked the series and the genre but it is indeed very sad that something like that has to happen to a mangaka. The life of a mangaka consumes a lot of time. Ah well, he's back in jump SQ so he must feel at least somewhat better nowadays

With what Mago sells if it's rankings are bad enough to be canceled, Shueisha would transfer it to another magazine. They've moved series to other magazines for years, Captian Tsubasa, D. Gray Man, JoJo's, TLR, Jumbor, Prince of Tennis. The list can go on and on. If a series sells well but doesn't get votes in the TOC it probably means the people buying the tankobon aren't buying Jump, which means they're not buying other Jump Comics. When that happens a series gets moved.

Friendly debates keep the thread going, but it's fine if the discussion has come to a close. :)

I'm happy to see Sket Dance and Enigma doing well. Sket Dance is already stable in the magazine so let's hope Enigma will keep up its momentum. My biggest fear is that it'll crash. I'm still disappointed with KHR's position. What can you do with the fandom that's... *sigh*.

Naoshi Komi is coming back! Can't wait. I hope Nisekoi is as good as his other one shots.

So Komi is doing a love comedy oneshot. They're really teasing us aren't they.

OOOHHH YEAAAAH!!!!!! *fanboy squeals!!!* (too bad it's only a oneshot, though. -_-") but since it's going to be a rom-com, I think it will turn out really great. I really liked the Kiri-Elle dynamic in Double Arts, so I think this will turn out impressive.

It's about damn time we got some more Naoshi. Although, I would have preferred a new series. Hopefully it happens in the near future.

I want a full series :yelling

It's been almost three years since Double Arts debuted, he was Jump's golden child. The ending of Double Arts left me said and confused. I want more. Not that a one shot is anything to be disjointeded in, his are damn good.

I'm happy that Komi and Furudate return, but we have to wait around a year to be serialized, if they ranked good. :(

Anyways some good news Sket Dance anime isn't being animated by Studio Pierrot but by Tatsunoko Pro so we may get some decent animation here.

Production: Tatsunoko Pro
Director: Kawaguchi Kei'ichiro
Series Composition: Inotsume Shin'ichi
Character Design: Nakatake Manabu

Same cast as the drama CD.

Hiroyuki Yoshino as Bossun
Shiraishi Ryouko as Himeko
Tomokazu Sugita as Switch.

What are you talking about? Studio Pierrot always has decent to great animation.

It's their pacing issues that are the problem. Hopefully they'll find a decent way to balance out Beelzebub...

With the director and series composer for Hayate no Gotoku and Nyan Koi working on this, I'm expecting the manga's comedy to be done justice. Also hoping that Keiichiro doesn't get changed from director to a different staff position like in OreImo...
