Yes, that's what I said. Without animes, Shokugeki is already more successful than Haikyuu!!, with an anime it will just follow the logical path; with a good animation, of course.

It really doesn't work that way. I can bet Sports has more anime rise potential than food manga.
Just look at Nisekoi and Hk!!, they were selling about the same. Did you ever expected the anime effect to be the same?

Well, I am serious about that particular editor being a big fan of HxH because he has specifically said so on several occasions.
Unless this turns out to be some kind of Dragon Ball announcement, because he likes that series too. We'll find out in 10 hours or so.

Nisekoi is romance, which is not known as a very successful genre.
Shokugeki, on the other hand, has all aspects of a battle shonen that we know is successful. Also, it is already an incredible success now, Jump will make a huge merchandising, choose a good studio and time slot. There is no way it will not make success

I've been saying that hk!! Will be bigger than kuroko for a while. Of course this is just based on my opinion. I can't see soma selling more than 600k. (600 was Bakuman/reborn level)

No one thought that Assassination Classroom would sell that much either.
I can pretty much see Shokugeki selling 600k; it already seels 300k while in the chart with 7 volumes. Shokugeki no Soma has as much appeal as Haikyuu!! animated.

Well, we'll have to see in the future. I do think that Shokugeki is the series with more potential among the "new generation".

I could easily see Shokugeki reaching that level honestly though I hope Haikyu!! does better but only because I read it and love it.

Because I'm a good person I will extent my post and say what I think of the current line up.
One piece = never managed to get into it, boring in many arcs. Status: on hold (probably forever)
Gintama = Not my style of manga, hate the universe. Sket dance was amazing tho (by his assistant)
Naruto = I really liked part I, part II is pretty bad. Status: currently getting spoiled on propose just to know how it ends.
Kuroko no Basket = dropped the manga, picked the anime when it came out. Is not bad in anime format.
Ansatsu Kyoushitsu = Didn't like it.
Toriko = Awful.. is what I think of it.
Nisekoi = good manga, really fun to read. 8/10 material.
Shokugeki no Soma = read the first two chapters when they first came out, put the manga on hold for a while.. and I'm currently waiting for the viz release of it.
Isobe = untranslated
Haikyuu!! = always waited for the anime adaptation
Saiki Kusuo no PSInan = uninteresting to me
World Trigger = there's a lot better in other magazines to read, anime would be great tho
Illegal Rare = see toriko
Soul Catcher(S) = not my type of manga
Bleach = I like to read it after a bunch of chapters are out, so not a weekly read for me.
iShoujo = untranslated (1 chapter is out I believe, I'm waiting for the first arc to be completely out)
Kochikame = untranslated, I loved the anime tho so amazing.
Stealth Symphony = it got potential
Tokyo Wonder Boys = untranslated
