Maybe they took Stealth Symphony for ESJ because Illegal Rare was maybe a bit dark for them? I haven't read it so I'm only assuming. iShoujo is ecchi and they wouldn't take that while Tokyo Wonder Boys is sports which ESJ doesn't seem interested in. So from that point of view, Stealth Symphony seemed more suitable?



Yeah. I'd assume that Toriko might comeback in a year or two. It's always a smarter move to not put out fillers and just take a break.

Illegal Rare isn't that dark.
It's a bit edgy, but nothing that really pushes the boundaries of Jump. It's about as edgy as Bleach.

I would have said more like HxH. Well not as much as HxH but the themes in Illegal Rare are something I used to see in HxH.

I checked Stealth Shymphony (I assume SS would be too inappropriate to use) and it looked nice. Is there any news of a group picking it up?

Nobody's being intolerant of Stealth Symphony fans; there'll always be fans of even the worst-performing series, not that we know for sure if Stealth Symphony will be one. We're just pointing out the potential, objective flaws we think the series may have that will threaten its survival.

Also, you can't deny Viz's extremely poor choice of series.

In ESJ's almost two-year run now, the only series Viz managed to pick to be simultaneously released in Japan and the U.S. that'd become a success is World Trigger. Meanwhile, the other three series, Bulge, Takamagahara and Cross Manage, all bombed straight away.

P.S. It blows my mind for Viz to be so reluctant for so long to release WT's volumes, and yet they were so much faster releasing volumes of all the failed series.

I dont really know how can one at this time suggest Stealth Symphony is a poor choice over say Illegal Rare. Plus its also hard to decide if the english reader population would actually prefer one or the other, like someone below said Cross Manage seemed to be a well liked series in America versus JPN so would that truly be considered a poor choice?

Also if we do this hindsight view, arent there only litrally four series that are still around that could have been viable for the magazine that got success, two of which are coming to the english audience in some form (Nisekoi, Shokugeki no Soma, and one could argue AssClass could be a potential one). Plus for some having shokugeki no soma volumes in print is far better than it being in this digital magazine. Its not like Haikyuu!!, Saiki Kusuo were viable.

It would really only make sense to gauge the "extremely poor choice of series" only after 8 16 32 and 48 weeks have passed for Stealth Symphony. Stealth Symphony could be the next FMA.

Am pretty hyped for tomorrow for Stealth Symphony. Havent been this stoked for a new series from jump for awhile.


I guess at least one group is doing one of these new series from jump, hope it wont be another case of a group doing a series that is in esj, always feels like a waste of not expanding upon the wealth in diversity of english translated mangas when they do that...
