Oooh. I predict it being 40-50 volumes
Oooh. I predict it being 40-50 volumes
I predict 40-50 volumes because when he said "the story is nearly 20% done" when doing the math of where the series was then you get about 400 chapters.I've always thought of MHA as a 250-300 chapter manga. The story beats are pretty concise, and Horikoshi has the entire story planned out at least.
I hope so, it has great potential and I'd hate fore it to end abruptly.I've always thought of MHA as a 250-300 chapter manga. The story beats are pretty concise, and Horikoshi has the entire story planned out at least. I think MHA will be safe enough to be able to end as planned.

Do I have to explain my joke? The joke is that Natsu is on the cover.
I didn't think yours was a joke because that would have meant you responded to Mammo with the exact same joke he already made. Sorry.Do I have to explain my joke?
This overexposure of characters has already happened I believe. The guy introduces all these new characters from different schools and years, but never does anything with them. We have the students from Class 1-A and their teachers which is already a decently large "main cast", and then we were introduced to Class 1-B which is a sort of "rival class" before many of the characters in 1-A are given a decent amount of time to shine. We also have the students from other schools introduced, new villains appearing, and now the Big Three. I can definitely see how it might go the Bleach route of going down in popularity if Horikoshi doesn't change his formula of "school event, villains attack, school event, villains attack" and so on because it will get repetitive really quickly (and some believe it already is). Hideout Raid and Stain's Arc were great because they broke away from the normal formula of the story, and Horikoshi needs to do that more often to keep things fresh. Also, I know he probably loves to come up with new characters, but he needs to slow down with that and give previously established characters some necessary spotlight. Otherwise, his manga will end up like Bleach, which was chastised for being repetitive with its arcs and having an overinflated cast who, for the most part, served little purpose other than making the cast larger. Also have to be weary of overexposure character syndrome when too many get introduced and they get little to no screentime.
Who are you to tell this dude how to write his own story? LolThis overexposure of characters has already happened I believe. People seem to be confused over the difference between overexposure and overpopulated truth be told introducing a slew of new characters every arc is not exactly foreign to shounen, One Piece would introduce 20 new characters per arc and yet nobody would bat an eye over it while MHA would introduce three new characters and suddenly its in danger of being overexposed like Bleach. Bleach's problem came from Kubo putting more focus into his secondary characters over his main ones to the point where someone like Mayuri had more battles in the final arc than our main protagonist in fact people would want to learn more about the cast in MHA whenever Horikoshi slows down and he regrets not giving certain characters the limelight already. Also it feels kinda redundant to be complaining about school events and villain attacks in a manga called My HERO ACADEMIA going back to Bleach the reason why its formula got repetitive because you got treated to the same arcs over and over again (A new enemy arrives in Karakura Town, Ichigo trains, a friend gets separated, he most run through a new landscape in order to get them, etc.) there's not really a whole lot of repeating going on here in comparison. Every new introduction has been done thus far for a reason or something that had already been established from the beginning just now coming into light (other schools outside UA, the mystery of who are UA's senior class and given the current status of the story a rising of new villains makes sense) we're not at Bleach territory yetThis overexposure of characters has already happened I believe. Hideout Raid and Stain's Arc were great because they broke away from the normal formula of the story
Ironically enough those were both villain attack arcs that you previous stated that added to the repetition, people liked those arcs because they were good not because they broke away from the formula but I kinda figured that once the villains were introduced there would be a split between people who prefer the villain attack arcs over the school stuff especially with the current events of the story movie I can understand where some of the frustration lie where we have to focus on a License Exam over seeing how much the world has changed with two of its biggest pillars gone.but that just reeks of impatience rather than the story being bad. I don't believe that introducing new characters is a bad thing because they had a certain levity to the setting that goes beyond the scope of the MC and his circle of friends however if those characters only exist to make the MCs look better in comparison or in the case of Bleach just hog the limelight then it becomes a problem., and Horikoshi needs to do that more often to keep things fresh.
