What threads are you looking at? The reactions I've seen so far are basically lukewarm. Its not well received but not bad either. Poro on the other hand is a different story. Although it should be noted that 2ch is excessively pessimistic and at least half of the posters are trolls that cannot get over stuff they read first and excessively beat down on new series saying its horrible without giving reasons beyond the generic "Its Boring", "Hurry up and end!", etc.
didn't go there myself, I was talking about the new manga with some friends and one of them mentioned 2ch really hates bokuben didn't really bother checking
Any one of them can't be mentioned in a serious discussion as source for popularity measure of any series.
Jump granted us with a completely understandable way to measure the popularity of a series withing the magazine, the TOC, so there is no need to resort to other sources. TOC and, to some extent, sales is what matters when it comes to popularity.

This is old but I found it interesting, think it's from volume 43. Look at the question Oda is answering about how ToC works. I'm not sure if Oda is being rosy so he won't say outright "if your series is cheeks then it gets ranked towards the bottom" but this kinda changes my opinion (although not much) on how ToC really broils down. I thought ToC strictly went off the ranking by the subscribers, didn't know the editorial staff played a big hand in it.

he's talking about the magazine's mood
for example Isobee is always in the bottom because they want to end the magazine on a happy note, gag manga jumps up and down and act as a comic relief between serious battle manga, manga with color pages are getting promoted etc.....
I already saw this piece of information in many places, I didn't know it was Oda who said it though. It doesn't change anything because it is just logical to put the most popular mangas first to be easily found.

Magic Eater is way down, i thought it would do better considering its good ranking on Jump Plus, but 76 in first day isn't that horrible, he can improve, it won't be axed ( I reckon?)
what does that say, that a rookie with unrefined art and that never published a manga before can publish a manga for free on Jump Plus and Jump never promoted it and his manga still would sell better than stuff that is Jump's competition is pushing hard?
like it's doing way better than Ryoko and really close to Aozakura both which Sunday pushed really hard
