I believe our perception of "for kids" is what makes it seem like guns, gangs,etc wouldn't really fit shonen manga too much. The way I see it, as long as you don't put actual sex in the story and suggest it as much as possible anything pretty much goes, although the parents will howl. A lot of what you said in Yugioh is actually pretty tame. Hell in Stone right now, Tsukasa is flat out killing people, even though they're in stone form. Neverland has a human "farm".

Yeah pretty much lol. They really make it a KIDS show for us, Yugioh used to premier on W4 TV on saturdays, but bro I'm just kinda laughing at it how it's pretty suggestive. They make Tea liking Yami Yugi a lot more obvious then in the cartoon and use her for fanservice a good amount. Just seems so odd looking at it like that. Like compared to DBZ they showed Roshi groping 18 and some early Bulma fanservice, the robbers killing Buu's dog and so on but both were rated Y7-TV for a good while before DBZ was PG eventually.

If I remember correctly Tadahiro and Tsukusa said something similar on their 1st and 4th anniversary.

I think it is normal, it also depends on the translation that may be not that accurate.
Haikyuu can end or not, I think it would be very interesting to see Hinata and Kageyama as leaders of the team guiding a new generation and less important but also interesting Hitoka is just waiting Kyouko to retire from the manager position to have more screen time. Anyway, there are a lot of things to develop and I don't think it would be boring at all.

Isobe is supposed to be Ukiyo-e with dialogue added in. You really see this when you read the story as almost every panel is drawn in ukiyo style with some motion lines thrown in as manga isn't just stand-alone shots like Ukiyo-e but cuts into what characters are doing and whats happening in the story at the given moment. Its probably due to this that in the beginning, it was hard for me to get the punchline as it took time to adjust to the style.

The timeslot. It has an amazing one, right before Detective Conan. It would honestly be scary if it wasn't in and around the top 10. It started off rough due to the ratings being lower for what is expected in the timeslot, but it's getting healthy jumps each episode. So that's good news.

But I've said it here before. The arc could be more fun with added original material.And don't tell me that that's an insult to Horikoshi because it's NOT. I want more screentime for the characters, to see other games in the whole sports festival, or extend the time in some of them to show more characters competting. For example, the game "The Fall" was unfortunately short on the excitement, given the anticipation it created. Hunter X Hunter did this better in the Hunter Exam arc by making it the mayority of 1 episde, but MHA only did it for like 5 minutes of episode 3. Why can't MHA extend this in animation, especially after doing recaps and lots of talking for 1 and a half episode before the action began?

Also, is there gonna be early rankings today?
