So Shonen Jump these days has less luck for success with mangas in other genres than shonen action mangas. I really wanted the magazine to be more diverse with other genres, like Shonen Sunday and Shonen Magazine, but it seems that it´s not working much. Do we really need more action shonens in the magazine?

JUMP has been having plenty of success with non-action series. If anything, it could USE another new action series. MHA is the only notably successful one JUMP has right now besides One Piece and it's still hard to say how successful Black Clover or Kimetsu no Yaiba will be in the long run

It's not that hard to give an estimate for Black Clovers success. It seems like my initial prediction may end up being right (selling close/around 300k per volume).

Kimetsu is a lot harder since it's growing quite a bit with each volume release. I would hope it becomes a 500k+ seller.

Define for me "growing quite a bit" because in Jump growing sales between volumes is mandatory and it is not growing that well by Jump standards. It seems "We Never Learn" will surpass it by volume 4~5 with ease! 500k is way too much.

Well it went from selling like what 15kish with it's first volume and is already selling pretty much 100k before dropping off the rankings. It also has good backlog sales too, in the half year mark the previous volumes already got backlogs of like ~70k. It had a lot of growth within the span of it's 7 volumes.

I don't care about WNL at all lol. 500k is a lot but it can happen if the anime is handled well (both adaptation/directing). Again, 500k+ is my hopes, that's all it really is.

Yes, that why I said "can".

I'm not particularly expecting huge things of BC but I still think it's very hard for Kimetsu to simply outsell it without an anime... But October is just around the corner, we shall see the common sense or this whole thread falling apart with a "miracle".

It is not even close to Jump standard, you should know that.

That's really up to personal preference, but in my opinion no it's not that good

especially since the writer basically had to make a huge tone shift within the series as a way to write out about three characters most readers didn't really care to much for/ where introduced way to early and this is just my take on it I still think a certain event that's been foreshadowed is coming to soon

I usually don't come back to series I've dropped, but Dr. Stone is really impressive because only tossing everything in the trash can and starting from zero would give it any chance to get better and even so it is going well. Does it is due to Jump readers bad taste, which proved its existence nowadays?

It's not in my top 5 currently running Jump series. But I think Dr.Stone is a fun series and a good edition to the magazine. Nothing spectacular, but if you're someone that tries to keep up with everything running in the magazine(for me, everything that gets translated) it's cool

Always remember even Black Clover got 1# and the chapters ranked were among the worse in the series, doesn't really mean much other than promotion. Other than awkwardly dropping two mains and introducing over 40 new characters out of nowhere its still the same quality it was from the start and what's keeping people interest being the premise and the fact that Bouchi is doing it is all I ever see in regards to it, the pacing seems to be the Achilles heel of this with things happening with no build up or development so its really hard to care about what's happening which is the opposite of something like Neverland which took its time to establish the world and how it worked slowly building over time alongside its cast. I'm no surprise that it made it given the push towards it but I wouldn't call it good or the best of this batch.

I don't think someone who praises WNL should be calling out anyone for having bad taste

That's gotta hurt...

He is just grumpy because the VETERANS are thriving (well 2/3 of them) while romcoms are (as always) getting more and more irrelevant and dying their miserable deaths.

I was looking forward to Zumou's ending (not because I don't like it, but because I want Kawada doing a fantasy battle shounen). But now I wanna see WNL dying first. As soon as possible.

Those "facts" are irrelevant to the discussion of Kimetsu/BC success of battle shonens. You're just trying to include WNL into the discussions and I responded by that I don't care.

Dr. Stone isn't anywhere as good as GIA props it up to be but it's been enjoyable and fun lately, the new characters and storyline for the country of science arc have been interesting to follow. Comedy even got better. Choco is right though, author just randomly drops two mains that were garbage. Not sure I've ever seen that before but it was for better so good he took that L before it was too late.

Leoat if you ever pick it back up try reading it with gutter-like expectations, you'll probably enjoy it the 2nd go-around like I did
