Black Clover's current timeslot is best suited for long running series, though a lot of recent series haven't been much longer than 2 cours. Its aired a lot of western series recently as its been airing the Lego series since April and it aired Avengers Assemble before that. Bleach was only in this timeslot from its start in Fall 2004 to the end of Summer 2005 and Pokemon was only in this slot for half a year back in 1997. The times are entirely different though so you can't use their numbers as a gauge for BC's success. In recent years, I've only been able to find Majin Bone's, which aired till the end of Winter 2015, ratings and it was on average anywhere from 1% to 2%. Series after that have almost no information available besides a few numbers tossed around and most of those are in the 2 percent range. Its still entirely possible that BC is able to get high ratings but the last time that was seen was with Youkai Watch, which airs in the same time but on Fridays. The show before Youkai Watch didn't get anywhere near the same ratings as it did soon after it started, averaging at least 4% in 2014 and going even higher.

In terms of boost however, it can still happen as Haikyuu didn't get high ratings but still got a massive boost. But, it will need close to a miracle to get anywhere near 500k from its current 150k-200k. Magi is the only series in recent memory that has gotten such a boost and it was on a much more mainstream timeslot.
Haikyuu was also on a mainstream timeslot same as Magi so even if its ratings were "great" its disc sales were stellar and of course got a huge boost.

Yup. Kuroko had a lot of still frames even in the third season. There were only a few notable scenes, but Haikyuu had many. I guess it has to do with how dynamic basketball is compared to volleyball, or Haikyuu looks better because they gave it a generous budget due to the success of Kuroko. Who knows.
Maybe though Kuroko's appeal has almost nothing to do with basketball much like Prince of Tennis with tennis.

Sure the timeslot was more mainstream, but Jump seems to be playing the long run game with BC as currently all of the most mainstream timeslots that usually do 2 cours are either taken or gone. Nichigo is gone and Heroaca's current slot has Time Bokan 24 planned for the next 6 months. With TV Tokyo they can get up to 4 cours scheduled. This way, its possible to slowly buildup popularity as seems to be the staff's intent on this adaptation. They mentioned that they want to reach as many people as possible and this long running plan seems to be the best way currently.

Prince of Tennis was very much about tennis up at least until the end of the Kanto Tournament. The manga stayed pretty true to tennis excluding Muga no Kyouchi and Tezuka Zone. The auras were added at the tail end as even Muga no Kyouchi is still believable to an extent. The anime decided to start adding more unbelievable elements as it progressed.

魔法少年X looks way gloomier than the name implies. I bet some people thought it was fujoishi bait like me. XD
It looks the most interesting one, but I'll not get my hopes up due to the history.

He uses the correct terminology (yes "The Zone" is an actual thing in basketball)
While the terms "The Zone" actual exist, it has basically nothing to do with what is presented in Kuroko no Basket. The same happens with the Misdirection and many things in Kuroko no Basket.

Nobody read the article about the Kuroko events attack? I'm disappointed.

This criticism of MHA:

It takes a lot of guts for an author to risk riling his fan base by killing off characters and most Shonen don’t dare risk it. So it begins to create this safety net for its characters, where nothing truly bad can happen to anyone, not for long anyway. It’s not to say any Shonen should be killing its beloved characters left and right, but too often Academia teases death as a possibility. Many Shonen do, and if you never make good on the threat, it begins to feel hollow. I don’t think Academia is actually at that point, it hasn’t quite gotten as in your face about its lack of fangs like The Promised Neverland has, but it’s always something I’m a bit weary of with the Shonen medium as a whole.
I can say that after that moment for All Might, Horikoshi is forgetting what stakes are. That´s just me though. What do you think?

When author kills a character it's always for shock value. Edgy teens want to see characters die with death flags or not they need to remember SHOUNEN IS A DEMOGRAPHY NOT A GENRE. If they want edgy sh*t read seinen manga but that is just as bad. No manga is perfect you just need to accept that and when you do you will be more happier. Also the Shitposters and trolls need to learn to shut the **** up and let the author have freedom to write want he wants.

Just towards that paragraph, if you're beginning to get weary reading shounen manga, especially battle shounen manga, you should probably "graduate" from Jump or Shounen manga as a whole. Rom-coms and SOL series aside, Jump's brand revolves around shounen battle manga. They try to raise the stakes to keep the story interesting but also keep the story simple because that's what readers want to read. Jump mangaka are especially balancing these two aspects. A good amount of people, especially the dragon ball generation want to read another Dragon Ball type of simple shounen manga. One Piece, aside from its world building, is just this. The main plot revolves around each of the crew achieving their dreams and exploring the world. This is balanced with the vast, detailed world of OP. Series like HxH are a rarity in Jump as Togashi has (had) achieved a balance between Dark elements and the more shounen bits of friendship and the like. He is able to properly mix friendship in the story as is the case between Gon and Killua without it being out of place. Recently though, and even as far back as 3/4 of Chimera Ant, HxH reads (read) entirely like a seinen manga. That's why its so lauded in the west.

You also risk people completely giving up on reading a series once you kill them off in Jump. While this may sound ridiculous, lots of people read jump series for their favourite characters. The target demographic is also another reason why you don't kill off many characters. Can you imagine kids' reactions once their favourite character is killed off? Its entirely possible that questionnaire results drop which brings you that much closer to cancellation. This makes it very hard to write a proper story which leads many mangaka to come back to the cliches, which, with some good execution, will greatly raise the chances of staying serialized.

GFC oneshots preview
The 2 one shots to the left look cool.

But am I the only one who thinks the silver hair kid in the middle looks like a mix of Asta and Boruto

to me they look like Gash Bell, Demon's Plan, Aizawa and his boi, why can't Allen Walker afford a none-cracked glasses adventure, and Donten ni Warau spinoff

Feel the same that the furthest left looks the most intriguing based on the art. Like the punk rock theme. Is the chick wearing a Supreme shirt?

YnY vol.7 wasn't previewed on Yuragi's color page? Why was Acadmia previewed but not others? I want to see TPN, Dr.Stone & HZ's covers too.

Dr.Stone should be interesting, let's see if it is an improvement from the first.

MHA was previewed on the spin-off which was pushing its own volume. The covers for the rest would be posted with/after the TOC.
