This is kinda offtopicish but going back to MangaStream's $5 dollar donation thingy, most people wouldn't be seeing enough ads for MS to get $5 out of adwords, I'm guessing at the very least you would need around 3,000 impressions if you see and ad on every page but you don't... I don't have adblock, but I don't think I have ever seen an ad on Mangastream.. At least they aren't as prominent as in other sites where you see like at least 2-3 while reading..

But obviously MangaStream knows not even a very little fraction of the people who reads would donate, let's suppose there is 1 million people reading from them every month, if .001% of people donate, that's 'just' 1,000 people.. And I still doubt 1,000 people would donate, but who knows..

I liked that they are now translating New Prince of Tennis which was left without a translator group (I think? I remember there was a long drought for NPoT chapters), and I would probably donate if they included a poll of sorts where you can vote or give them ideas to translate manga that aren't being officially simulpubed, e.g. Yowamushi Pedal or Gintama (Though I don't read Gintama, Idk how far behind Edited Mangas are, but it's just an example of a manga that isn't simulpubed and is popular)..

I know Shueisha's Jump Titles are simulpubed in US WSJ, and Crunchyroll simulpubs Kodansha's most important titles, right? But are Shogakukan and Akita Shoten titles simulpubed in the US?
I ask because I know that Yowamushi is published by Yen Press BUT they don't simulpub it, even though they do simulpub certain manga..

So yeah, I would donate those $5 if they gave options to vote for series that aren't simulpubbed or also to translate old manga, for example I have always wanted to read 90s titles like Ninku, Hell Teacher Nube, Midori no Makibao, among others..

Yeah, if they had a poll for the subscribers to decide which manga should get translated, that would probably convince the readers more than just removing ads.

The content of the manga speaks volumes as the anime longevity.
To Love Ru says differently. That got two seasons and then another two more for Darkness. For these kinds of series, merchandise, which is already supposedly coming out, and BD sales mean more than volume sales. Yuragi's volume sales most likely won't grow much more, probably plateauing at around 150k, peaking at 200k. That would already be monumental for this kind of series. But either way, this series, if it stays in the middle of the TOC rankings, will stick around for a while.

World's End would probably blow up over Yuragi whenever it gets an anime, casuals love that racy shit.

Fuck yeah. I want to read Seikimatsu Leader Den Takeshi! I think Kewl does most of the work and he does other projects so it's slow.

Even tho I hate their translations it would be cool to read series that don't have an official English translation.

Is there something special about World's End that I'm missing? I skimmed through it briefly after seeing the huge sales numbers expecting to see something mind-blowingly great, but I wasn't too impressed. In all fairness to the series, I didn't read super thoroughly, so I thought maybe I missed something

Other than the character designs absolutely nothing. It'll probably trigger some SJW types due to how shamelessly sexist the plot of the manga is and those who would be disappointed that this isn't a Japanese take on Y: The Last Man but the series has nothing really going for it due to its idiot plot and frustrating characters. This would all be forgiven if the "service" was good but its pretty boring in itself like the softest of softcore you could imagine especially given the premise which is to bone every girl you meet for the "sake of the population" but no just nothing worth freaking out over.

This was all I took from it as well. I didn't really like any of the characters and wasn't a fan of the plot (or PLOT). That's why I was shocked at the massively successful volume sales.

You can argue however that that in itself fulfills some quota or need in readers as it did rank in on Oricon just lower than BC and pretty much sells around the same amount. BC finally edged out this week but the fact that a wish fulfillment manga from a spinoff app of the main magazine is able to go head to head with a battle shounen with tremendous promotion in Jump is huge. Once few more volumes come out it may be ripe for an anime. This is honestly a gold mine of merchandise with all the possible figures and what not that can be made out of the girls. I don't know how BDs might do though. To me, from what I read, its story was similar in level to the Seven Mortal Sins. Just because you through in a lot of fanservice, BDs, even with uncensored bits, won't necessarily sell well.

Well not arguing otherwise since To Love Ru Darkness was able to sell despite it being stagnant and routine for years where the only ones reading it wanted to see what Yabuki was able to sneak in his "reflections" every chapter and Paradise of Innocence was also a hit inspite of the story going absolutely nowhere and the scenarios getting dull until the author just decided to call it quits but World's End does seem to want to try to incorporate a plot and it drags it down considerably and the characters are all awful but he seemed to have realized how poorly received the first MC was and replaced him with one who isn't afraid to bone every girl he sees but ins some cases he's even worse. I'm curious to see the reaction it'll garnered once it gets animated because the manga is now going into to rather "niche" appeals with its current revenge plot.but people are going to be in for a rude awakening when they see its not like what's advertised.

If it gets animated, its going to get bashing on the level of Isekai Smartphone, both domestically and abroad. Again, from the small amount I read (while struggling to keep my brain shut off), there's a big self-insert element in this. If the MC changed, it will honestly cause a rather big backlash as it is different from what's advertised. Otaku raged over Centaur no Nayami's serious episode as they only wanted episodes of cute monster girls doing cute things and similarly with Saekano's betrayal scene. If suddenly you get an MC that actually does the deed when you had one that was meek, the tone shift will honestly turn some people off.

Marketability is the biggest factor. They're probably aiming for the TLR audience with the anime, especially if it's the same studio. Kimetsu and Zumo just don't have the same level of marketability that Yuuna does.

On that note, does the pic confirming the Yuuna anime explicitly mean a full cour anime, or could it also mean an OVA?
Why Kimetsu or Zumo? Ecchi series don't sell a lot.

I don't know what you are talking about, but it is certainly not a good thing in covers when you have to put everybody and ends up not showing anything appealing.
I'm talking that your point about not having a clear protagonist is actually good for a romcom.

It's absurd that yuragi will get an anime and some manga still has not anime.
Hinomaru zumou or Kimetsu no yaiba
specially
YnY sadly won't get much of a boost so maybe that's why it's getting on "early" while the sales are stable.

KnY's sales are still growing so there's time for one to happen I would imagine. I expect an announcement next yr

Zumou just needs a chance. Im not sure if it'll get granted. I tried searching up some Sumo related animes and even then I couldn't really find a whole lot.

There's a seinen manga called Notari Matsutaro that's about Sumo and it got animated by...Toei animation. It's a recent anime from 2014. Sadly I don't see production IG even picking this up unless an anime director is a huge fan of the manga.
