Hey, don't throw shade at Hinumaru Zumou, the manga is great. It deserves a figure, glad it got one. The other newer series you mentioned will get more figures than Hinumaru Zumo in the long run, probably.

That Ushio figure looks amazing, can't wait to see how the color version looks like.

When do you think HxH will return? Because there's 34 days left of the year so i would think we would get an announcement this week early but there's another possibility where they announce it at Jump Festa and that means hxh will return probably in 2018 since they usually announce a month beforehand. And the last possibility is that Togashi really isn't coming back this year. I really don't want that to happen.

I just really want this manga to come back soon lol

Are we sure that that is supposed to be every figure for the 50th anniversary, and not just a preview? Because yeah, it's weird to have Hinomaru Zumou, and not My Hero Academia, Shokugeki no Soma, etc.

Yeah, that it a little questionable. They only have half of the amount of figures for the 50th anniversary (32 figs), than there were for the 45th (64 figs). Which doesn't really make much sense since the 50th anniversary is arguably more important than the 45th. There really should be more for the newer generation than just Hinomaru.

Also, what does that card on the bottom right say? Is it a placeholder or something? (sorry, I know the text is small and possibly hard to read)

Im glad they are still under 17 in Shuudan and their designs arent too dramatically changed. Just need Daigo, but everyone is just as lovable as I imagined theyd be.

Well, since you haven't read the manga, you can't really jump to any conclusions yet, now, can you?

Shuudan's cast still looks cute, while being more mature as well, as expected of the author. Now, will the series survive in one form or another?

I've noticed the two users quickest to attack a series they've never read, both refuse to read Edited Mangas, opting instead for Viz translations.
Could their nonsensical cover judging critiques be related to jealousy over not getting to enjoy these series along with us?

I stopped listening to Viz's podcast a couple of months ago, I will listen to it this week to see if Sasaki say anything about the whole Kenshin thing since he was its editor and often brag about how he was pretty involved in making the manga

on another note, Viz's didn't say anything about picking up Lycopene, FullDrive, Golem, and they have been on point with their pick ups lately

ignoring Lycopene which is just not their cup of tea since its mostly Japanese popculture references

Yeah, I figured there was an astronomically small chance they'd pick up Lycopene due to the exact reason you stated. As for Full Drive and Golem Hearts, neither of them really won me over. Golem Hearts isn't bad, but it didn't really interest me personally. The art is pretty good, but it didn't really capture my interest. Maybe I'll come back to it if it sticks around and some new development takes place that seems interesting. Full Drive bummed me out since I really wanted to like it since I enjoy ping-pong, but just can't get into it. I don't really like the art or the characters, so I wouldn't mind seeing this go if more sacrifices are needed for the next serialization round.

I wonder what viz's thoughts on new pickups are right now, they clearly wanted/needed some new weeklies after losing Toriko, Nisekoi, Bleach, and World Trigger last year but they've managed to replace them now with 4 pretty safe series (granted RxL's rankings aren't as good as Neverland, WNL, and Dr Stone's but should be safe for a while with its great volume sales).

I can't imagine we'll see another Red Sprite/Love Rush situation any time soon. Back then they desperately needed more stuff even if it meant picking up failures (or in RWBY's case running utter garbage even they don't like) while they wait for something more promising but they've filled up the empty spaces again, they don't need to go for stuff that's passably received in the west if it'll just get cancelled in 2-3 volumes.

I suppose they're probably still hoping for a new battle shounen (especially with their much hyped Kenshin being dropped), we can only hope they do a Soma again and pick up Kimetsu when it gets an anime.
