Eh that comparison makes no sense. You should use the first half of 2015 since by that time World Trigger's anime had aired for 8 months like BC.

The reference should be the first year of the anime (2015 Half year)

Guys, I'm not a fan of BC either, but can we please stop trying to undermine the success of the series? It might not have met the expectations of Nakano, but it's a success in its own right, so let's just leave it at that. Would rather not have another dozen pages of people arguing back and forth about whether BC is a success or not relative to XYZ manga. Let's just, you know, chill on that already.

Is MHA really only have 15M total print for vol 1-18?

With a good enough anime, Neverland is crossing that million per volume line. That's a big if, though.

No. Its 15M for Manga 1-17, 4-Koma spin-off 1-5, Vigilante 1-4 and (not sure) novel 1-2.

Kinda hard not to when the fanbase is making a big deal of what amounts to 6 months worth of backlog despite the fact that its boost is lower than Souma's and MHA. In fact Neverland was was 60k+ away from outselling it and it made that much on backlog with no anime in half the amount of time which is more impressive. But congratulations BC you really showed those haters I'll tell ya what.:derp

You fool! Why did you respond to me?! You'll start the cycle all over again :gwah

Buuuut seriously, sure it's not an incredible boost, but it's something, considering the circumstances around BC's anime. Let them have their day, man.

Yes its doing perfectly fine. Would suck ass if Neverland somehow beat it unless it gets another boost down the pipeline but for now its come a long way.

Lit, no Shokugeki on the list.
It only had one volume counted between that period. But yeah its boost is long over and the anime should just wrap up after this season.

It still won't make the top 10 at the end of the year b/c of series like TPN & HxH. Yeah the anime is awful, its like a powerpoint slide at this point.

With the current events of the manga it should just end it there. Honesty I'm more interested in Neverlands boost next year than anything this year, noitamina isn't a gurantee hit maker like Nichigo or NTV but even if the animes presentation isn't good (like Golden Kamuy) its notoriety should spark interest.

At this point, it seems like it's written in the stars for TPN to be a monster success for Jump. It wouldn't shock me if it actually surpasses MHA even. Outside of the multiple awards it's won, I think the novelty of it being "un-Jumplike" has essentially set it up to an absolute must read for Jump fans and manga readers alike. Helps that it's actually halfway decent, too. I'm not all that familiar with animation staff, directors, and all that jazz like some of you all are, but if the staff working on the anime adaptation are as good as Yonkou is claiming, I'd imagine the anime would further TPN's growth as we've come to expect, right?
And actually, jumping back to the multiples awards for a second, do you think it's possible that after receiving so many awards that TPN might have maximized its potential consumer base so it's not plausible for it to get a really big boost at this point or are there still consumers out there that only the anime can reach? I'm curious, because I think Wotakoi was in a similar place to TPN, getting most of its boost from a manga award(s). If I'm not mistaken, I don't think it received much of a boost beyond the 500k-600k it was already selling. I know the series is from a different publisher, but it's the only example I can think of off the top of my head. Would be cool if TPN managed to double or even triple its sales. It's a great series, so it definitely deserves it.

I wouldn't say its a must read I tried reading it and just couldn't get into it so I stopped reading it so it really depends on your taste also I wouldn't say its "un-jumplike" as its basically this era's Death Note. As for the animation staff being good or not is a 50/50 shot in the dark on what kind of quality they turn out. I think it is possible that it may have reached its peak in terms of readers not saying it has indeed met its peak but I wouldn't be surprised if it did reach it's peak readership.

I don't know, I think that Neverland has everything to even reach or even surpass mha and haikyuu considering that it already sell this well without any adaptation. But we'll see.. I'm optimistic about it's boost tho

Well, yeah, naturally there are going to be people that won't like TPN, but I don't think that negates the potential reach it has. A lot of people having been wanting shounen manga with a darker, sharper edge to it, and TPN, for the most, fits the bill. Of course, those are the desires of western readership; I can't speak for the Japanese, as I'm not sure what criteria, if any, they go by when deciding what types shonen they like. As far as the "un-Jumplike" bit, I mean, it isn't really the type of series the magazine normally publishes and I'm pretty sure Jump has acknowledged as much. Also, I've never understood the DN comparisons. Outside of the mind games and darker tone, they're not really near the same thing. On the last thing, I can't really refute you on that since I don't have any data to do so with. I'll just go out on a limb and agree my pal Nemesis overhead that TPN will get a pretty sizable boost to make it a solid pillar in the Jump catalog.

I wasn't really comparing TPN and Death Note in that sort of way it was the first title first that came to my mind as an "un-jump" like title.
