That's all on the Editor in Chief. I don't know what is going through his head when he approves a lot of these series. We are going to look back on this time when the sun set on the Jump Empire...

I dont think blame rests on an Editor in Chief, all they have control over is picking out what looks good. They have no control over if a writer catches the bad writing disease. Even an editor cant save bad writing.

Wasn't Tanaka Seiji originally a Golden Future Cup winner, and changed massively from the oneshot?

That seems to be a theme, successful oneshots changing a bit too much and losing what appealed to people in the first place.

Wouldnt you need to change much from a one shot to an open ended ongoing manga though, plus you have litrally tons of time to really edit, edit, re-edit, and edit somemore for a one shot for a competition.

Yeah pretty much every oneshot I like turns to crap when it gets serialized. Iron/Goblin (k)Night and Stealth Symphony being the worst offenders. Just because it worked once doesn't mean it'll be any good as a series.
Or they just never end up getting serialized at all. Genjui Toteku literally when

What, Stealth Symphony was a perfect narrative in the serialized form checking off every box for what makes a manga good.

Golem Hearts sure was the biggest offender to this rule, even if the One shot wasn’t anything special, it looks like gold next to its manga

But ...... is the classic strategy of Jump. They launch many series and see which of them reach the public's favor.

Looks like the popularity poll results are out next issue, meaning no cover or color spread....

It was delayed by a month but man I'm usually fairly lenient with this since its no big deal in the long run but what could have Horikoshi been so busy with to make him miss out on a color spread/cover for a popularity poll? He seem to be adamant about doing any color spreads or covers this year.

There is nothing written there about popularity poll results. That's talking about revealing the results for the manga award Horikoshi judged for.

Really? That person translated a lot of MHA news reliably so I'm surprised for them to mess up a translation that badly.

He's made genuine pillars with My Hero Academia, The Promised Neverland and likely Jujutsu Kaisen.
Plus other very popular series like Yuragi, We Never Learn, and Kimetsu which will probably also experience a lot of growth.
Most of these series began with his predecessor.Nakano became EiC after the Shuudan/Cross Account round and before the Tomatoypoo no Lycopene/Fulldrive/Golem Heart.
He made a good work with Jujutsu and Act Age, I'm surprise that he endure the second after discard Lycopene and Robot.
