Fujos, Ufotable
Kimetsu has a big potential. But the art and the start are so bad that they make people not care much about it. But if Ufotable can catch more fujo's attention, it will bloom. It seems Ufotable invest much money in Kimetsu.
I doubt ufotable is even investing in the anime in the first place. If anything it's Aniplex, which well, we already know it is by the announcement. We just need to know the other companies with them in the release in 2019.

Kimetsu will do really well with the fujoshis, its a series full of male characters, its being adapted by Ufotable with good animation. Not just the fujoshis, but i can see the series doing really well with the male audience because of the fights and the story.

Its a win/win.

And a manga having a boost its much more easier than a game having a boost of sales because of the anime, that's why TOZ didn't have a "game boost". But i remember Persona 5 having a small boost after the anime.

I do not understand the criticism of Kimetsu's drawings, if he has reached more than a hundred chapters it means that the reader obviously like them.

Kimetsu is most likely going to be getting a fujo push. I've already seen tons of fujo fanarts before the anime was even announced...I dont expect the fujo fanbase to be as big as say Haikyuu!! I still expect a pretty big boost, more than TPN at least.

It all depends where they end off season 1 at too. Regardless I can see Kimetsu peaking at around 400k, maybe close to 500k if we're lucky. The manga gets incredibly good as the arcs go by as well. Not a single arc has been "okay/meh" for me since the spider family, it's always been good-amazing.

Kimetsu's cast is really lovable more so than MHA for me and the comedy is fantastic. If the anime gets good VA's for the pillars & handles the comedy well I think it can help a bit. The fights being well animated is a given and the music seems like it'll top notch with the staff to sell those feels moments in the manga. The rough artstyle seems pretty preserved with the more "modern" looking designs from Ufotable. I got faith in Ufotable.

There's a lot of things differentiating it between BC tbh.

Is not it a bit exaggerated?

i dont know if I would use fanarts as a base to predict success, using [pixiv] [illustrations only]
world trigger is at 20K
promised neverland is at 1K
BLackClover is at 1K
kimetsu is at 4K
hinomaru is at 0.9K
food wars is at 5.4K

haikyuu is at 189K
heroaca is at 46K

based on this world trigger should be a flagship seller in jump, while things like hinomaru and promised neverland should be barely selling anything, clearly you can see that TPN is exploding even with an inactive fandom, food wars had initial success but stagnated.

That said it perhaps
it indicates that Kimetsu is actually well aligned for success though, since is clearly doing better than its senior Hinomaru, and should overtake Food Wars soon, but being so close to Food Wars, one would think that its sales would actually be more in line with Food Wars, which it is like 75% below food wars.

With 3 anime seasons, Haikyuu!! was more effective at mobilizing its fans than HeroAca was with the same media attention.

conclusion: A small series can have a very active fanbase

World Trigger is a big sucess with the fujoshi audience, there's a lot of doujins, this is the reason of so many fanarts.

It has fujo potential is my point, more so than any of the series you listed with the exception of HQ ofc. Not just pixiv but also twitter, admittedly Ive seen more fujo art on pixiv than on twitter I think. I think the fujo art was more around Rengoku so depending on when they adapt that arc is where we will see it. If it doesn't happen till then it more than likely wont get a fujo push. I wasnt saying more fanart = more success. Its the type of art that I see quite often was fujo, which gives it potential.

Like someone mentioned, if Ufotable can catch the fujos attention then it will definitely help. There's a lot of factors that Ufotable has to nail, not just getting the attention of fujos.

Shinmai Fukei Killco-san had a notable online presence in fanart and doujins, especially ******, but still bombed at three volumes. I don’t think these things are worth considering unless we’re talking like Haikyu’s level

Neverland will probably surpass MHA in sales for a brief period of time, specially if they play their hands right with a good "final arc" marketing angle. Probably won't actually pass MHA in terms of general popularity, though.

In addition: I've seen that TPN's popularity is really driven by the casual fanbase and younger readers, so it not having a strong "fandom" presence online makes sense to me.

Doesn't help that Neverland doesn't exactly have the most engaging characters. There are no waifus or husband's.

Kimi wo Shinryaku Seyo! #3 (END)

Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai #9

Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san #13

Shokugeki no Soma #32

Haikyuu!!! #35
I really like the covers of the series. They're the best cover of romcom out there to me. It's not just the girls and MC in the cover but the cover has always something going on as if we're seeing part of their life that we don't see in the manga.
Without even counting that Tsutsui absolutely kills with the colors and his overall artstyle which I love (and why the anime designs feels generic to me so far). Since I discovered him with the manga, I'm always impressed by his ability as a artist.

Any word on chapter lengths this week? Heard OP might be shorter than normal - but nothing about MHA or BC.

Not really, it was the same situation with ZIGA in that pixiv artists/2ch were obsessed with a design of a particular character and had nothing really to do with the series gaining a cult following. Kimetsu didn't start getting notable attention until the 24th chapter when Zenitsu appeared and everything just followed suit.

How is that not a cult following? And it had a fair few doujins. You can’t just pick and choose what counts dude

Otherwise I dont understand what reasoning people are using for Ufotable catching peoples attention, like when have they ever outside of Fate? I dont recall Zestiria causing tons new game copies to be sold or for that matter being relevant for Berseria, while I love God Eater, it is clear it didnt seem like anyone really latched on to the franchise because of the anime.
Zestiria was hated in Japan and is widely considered to be the worst entry in the franchise by the time the anime came about nobody cared because all the controversy had been lifted and people were waiting/playing Berseria and despite it being a production disaster the God Eater anime did help generate revenue for God Eater Resurrection.

If anything Ufotable has an unproven or actually an unknown track record for the discussion.
Yeah man...its not like they were responsible for revitalizing interest in an decrypt company that made nothing but eroge for years :derp

Additionally, I think it spells bad news for your series if you have such little faith in it that you think it has no appeal to the general anime fan, and will only appeal to one market of fan, the "fujos". Surely to get to +500K - 1500K sales your series needs to actually be selling to multiple subsets of anime fans, not just one. Does one really think "fujos" are why TPN and HeroAca are popular, and that the only way Kimetsu will reach those level is to appeal to fujos? Really, just a laughable implication of people baking on this for their hopes for Kimetsu to explode.
Yeah man look at complete flops like Prince Of Tennis, Kuroko's Basketball and Haikyuu. You do realize that kind of thinking is the reason why Toriko, Beelzebub, and Black Clover failed to meet expectations right? Mainstream/general audience are the hardest audience to appeal to because 9 times out of 10 they won't even read the manga and just watch the anime even series like Detective Conan, Doraemon and Shin-chan despite its mainstream appeal gets outsold by Tokyo Ghoul and Kingdom? Who do you think are buying new HxH volumes? Surely not casuals.

That isnt what I said and that isnt my point since you didnt seem to read the rest of what you quoted? I explicitly said multiple times that youre only getting big numbers IF you are selling to more than Fujos. If youre selling 750K to 1200K volumes, then youre definitely not ONLY appealing to Fujos .Do you think Fujos are the only people buying HxH, HeroAca, and Haikyuu? or even Shingeki for that matter?

POT could be in a range where you could claim that only they are buying it, quite sure it is not in a remarkbale position at this point in time like Haikyuu!! or HxH is.

Calling it a cult following is stretching it because in this day and age any series can garnered a circle of friends to draw the same shit but nothing can go beyond that other than pure obession over aesthetics than anything in regards to the series itself. Killco-san is a pretty bad example to use because not only did it get canned after 3 volumes and completely forgotten it never went beyond fanart and even that Lady monster from ZIGA got a doujin that does not mean that manga has a cult following at all since nobody started talking about it until she showed up. A better example of a cult following is Chinyūki which despite being canned after 5 volumes due to content left enough of an impression to make a sequel, an flash anime and a live action series.

And that is wrong. You literally have no basis for thinking this way other than saying that the all those manga sell to the same groups of people, not everyone who reads One Piece is an advent manga reader to begin with, not everyone who reads Shingeki also reads OP, that's such a vapid statement to make in regards to manga buyers. A manga call sell over 700k per volume and people can still be a niche amongst general audience or people might not have even heard of it. Also nobody here even said Kimetsu would sell within that range after the anime but then again anything is possible with the boost Tokyo Ghoul and Attack on Titan had this decade.

POT could be in a range where you could claim that only they are buying it, quite sure it is not in a remarkbale position at this point in time like Haikyuu!! or HxH is.
The original POT was selling the exact range you're saying couldn't possible be selling only to fujos and that's a series who's fanbase are predominately female .
