After reading the newest chapter of Neverland, which was good even if slow, I do think that the manga can probably keep going for another 2 years.

Also it's official now, Kishimoto is a liar. He said he'd start a new series this year and we haven't gotten so much as an illustration.
I think the best thing is to wait for the Jump Festa.

I wonder why they take the effort to hide the sales numbers of Dr.Stone lol

Wondering about Golden Kamuy and One Punch Man total sales.

And ey, next year Kimetsu is likely to beat Shokugeki
Its possible that Dr. Stone simply didn't make the chart. They released the individual volume sales for volumes 3, 4, 5,and 6.
142928 Dr. Stone Vol.3
136447 Dr. Stone Vol. 4
128521 Dr. Stone Vol. 5
121371 Dr. Stone Vol. 6

Jujutsu Vol. 1 has outsold Dr. Stone Vol 6, which were both released in the same month and Vol 2 has outsold Stone Vol. 7, both which were again released in the same month.

Clearly you're not looking at the bigger picture here. It's obvious that Dr. Stone is selling 500k per volume, they just haven't released the digital numbers.

Wow, Shokugeki dropped quite a lot in sales, i remember it selling 400-400k per volume. Years ago i expected the series to become one of the pillars of the magazine, selling 500-600k.

Looks like i was wrong.

I think even Toriko sold better before the anime, lol.

Has any other old manga ever managed to get in the top 10?
Technically its a re-release but no this hasn't really happened since Oricon started this in 2006 but of course no manga was as big or influential to its genre as SLAM DUNK save Dragonball so to see it still has this much hold on Japanese culture and to see Inoue can literally cuck titles from getting into the top 10 just by re-releasing his old manga with new art says a lot about is longstanding popularity. And now I can just pray that they don't fuck up the inevitable remake.

How many new pages needed to get into the top 10 5 selling manga of a year?

Inoue can do it with 20.

Is Jump even pushing Stone THAT much though?
It gets a lot of promo, but doesn’t seem like they’re shoving it down our faces or proclaiming it to be “the next *insert series*”, or “the next king of battle shonen” like they were with Toriko and Black Clover.

Not saying that’s the reason why it’s not pulling huge numbers.
Just saying I don’t get the ridicule it gets. It’s not like it was ever proclaimed to be the next A List hit.
I think it’s doing decent enough

Animation short cuts, awkward times to just use still frames with sliding images, continues to ruin Hinomaru, if it wasnt for the sound, and voice acting, then ,Id go to the manga. Todays match was epic, but as usual so much was left to be desired. Also I dont read the manga, but I can only imagine all the epic demonish moment probably looked amazing in the manga, while they look a bit lackluster animated.

Stone's promotion mainly comes from within the magazine. It gets a lot of color pages and a decent amount of covers (12 colors, 3 covers).

I think they don't push it as "the next X" because there's no clear comparison to another series. Black Clover and Toriko are easy to push as "the next big shonen" because battle shonen are the most popular and recognizable manga from Jump.

There hasn't really been a big successful manga in the past that is similar to Stone, so they can't really call it "the next big X" or whatever.

Its the reason why people don't the the TOC seriously anymore.

I don’t think the TOC should have never been taken that seriously to begin with.
xD No doubt, but, still, I feel that in the past there was some coherence. That's why when we (we?) see Dr. Stone get 12 color pages, 3 covers and several first places, the first thing we think is: this series must be a big hit.

Yeah there was definitely some correlation with the TOC and sales back then. The top three manga in the magazine were also among the best selling, bottom dwellers sold the least and was the most likely to be canned and a rise/fall effected sales, like always there were exceptions but it was never the proven rule but once Nakano came in its been all over the place (The number 2# best selling manga of the year is placed 6th in the magazine, while three of the top five in the magazine didn't even make the top 10 or maybe even top 30)
