I read it, it didn't fall apart when it came to the art. Chapter two of Actage was pretty weird. I don't know what pacing the writer is trying to go with. This chapter's first part seemed pretty pointless and then the second part of the chapter where the actual important things happen felt too rushed and short. For a second chapter, not a disaster, but the writer is going to need to decide really well what he's going to do.

Again, glimpses of potential shined through, but I really don't know where the writer wants to take this, he needs to set some kind of first time goal that needs to be accomplished by the two main characters or this will fall apart fast.

I agree with you in the sense that the pacing was slightly off, but I felt like the chapter was successful in showing a more human side of Kei and how her dynamic with Kuroyama is going to work.

Darling in the FranXX is the best sci-fi mecha I've seen in years. It's hella generic but executed great. Yabuki is a phenomenal talent.

You realize manga is a visual medium right...? Also manga art is far more complicated than just drawing character designs on a page. Yabuki is incredible at panelwork, one of my favorites.

Naw Rica he was just correcting me, he wasn't downplaying him as just an artist. I had no idea Yabuki didn't do the script. DarFraxx is doing what Hundred and Freezing couldn't do: finessing the elements of innuendo while still putting out a good story. Best of its genre since Unbreakable Machine Doll.

Hi everyone, I am new here, been bingereading the threads for a while and finally decided to get an account of my own

Regarding the new serialization round, its definitely more solid than the 2 previous ones; Bozebeats is as of now decent, the artstyle being overall solid, tho at times their expressions are a bit wacky, it still needs to set itself apart from other exorcist titles from Shueisha; particularly Kimetsu no Yaiba with whom it has to share a spot in Jump. Tho having more battle manga in the magazine is not hurting anyone, and its obvious that Golem Hearts wont stick for to long.

Act Age was my favorite of the two new series, gotta love having some fresh content in the magazine, tho I wont hold my hopes up just yet. Everyone where previously comparing with Shokugeki no Soma, but I think Bakuman is a more fair comparison. The artstyle is by far its weakest point, like somebody else said already in an acting manga expressions are everything and the 1st chapter certainly could of had the actresses having better expressions, still it has time to grow and its just a matter of seeing where the author takes the series to.

Darling in the franxx is actually an original anime and the manga is based in it. It's written/directed/storyboarded by Nishigori ex-Gainax and part of A-1 right now. That's why he was correcting since it's an adaptation.
