Really? My point was that sales has nothing to do with quality or do you deny that Gintama is supposedly a good quality manga although its sales has been constantly decreasing? Also, there are mangas out there better than Shokugeki and Gintama combined and doesn't sell as much as them. I have been going here less because I started to not give a damn about sales and TOC for that matter as long as "We Never Learn" is safe. The other mangas I read are safe, including Shokugeki, so I really don't have any reason to monitor everything. In short, you should stop using sales as measure for quality because it was, is and will always be a huge mistake.Answering a question with another question is not a good sign.
It's not going through the same process. Gintama as a franchise has reached a massive milestone with it's successful live action and is one of the top selling anime WSJ titles. It also experienced a growth in franchise sales from 2016 to 2017, unlike Shokugeki which fell off the charts and declined for 2017. Besides, Gintama has been going for 70+ volumes which is a huge feat especially for a comedy/battle shonen so ofc it's going to be placed on a much larger pedestal than a wannabe food manga which hasn't really evolved much since chapter 1.
