Looks like another strong week for Neverland. Volume 1 will have long crossed 500k by the next time it appears in Oricon. Probably due to the inevitable anime announcement.

Its quite a feat in itself to not chart in the POS top 500. Due to Jump's wide influence, even cancelled manga manage to get fans and sell around 5000 copies. I think U19, Demon's plan and now Golem Hearts are a handful of cancelled series that couldn't even manage that which means in a way, Golem Hearts will continue to be remembered long after its cancelled unlike most cancelled Jump manga which are mostly forgotten a few weeks after they end.
Darlifra is really interesting though. Despite the anime just starting and only now finding its groove, they already gave its manga adaptation a first print of 150k. If I recall correctly, the first chapter went online around the same time as the first episode so its not like there was much buildup besides Yabuki's name. Were there any other indicators that it would sell this well? Its right behind Harem and well above, at least in ranking, Bokuben and Stone.
It is kind of unfair to have an anime right off the bat, I think it was more than expected such sales and the original work is not from him so the story may not be as bad as TLR despite being probably more spicy than the original anime.
Oh, sure... The only thing that stands out there is the art so I completely forgot that it was a two people job. In any case, it is not the same person that it is writing the story so my point stands. About Kentaro Yabuki, it is actually the other way around, surprisingly, he should do something alone because his best series was Black Cat by far and he did it alone.
That's definitely the 6th anniversary cover/lead color pages.
Speculation for what's coming up next:
- #13 - YnY 2nd anniversary (Ch. 100)
- #14 - Kimetsu 2nd anniversary (Ch. 100)
- #15 - Dr. Stone 1st anniversary (Ch. 49)
- #16 - BC 3rd anniversary (Ch. 149)
- #17 - RxL 1st anniversary (Ch. 49)
WNL got the cover at Ch. 50 though so it might be different for the last 3.
Speaking of Bozebeats.... Yeah, not so fond of the heroine, but I guess she could grow (hopefully). That, and I guess she's probably the cutest out of the 3 series vying to be the next big shonen
I know that this subject is polemic for no reason at all, but why is it matter whether he/she is a men or woman? Are you going to start to like the series because of this? I find it amusing.
