Still, not only One Piece. Also Naruto. Also everything. In 2018 Dragon Ball is the anime/manga with biggest following and fanbase by far.

Makes me wonder why Hokuto no Ken/Saint Seiya/Yu Yu Hakusho/Slam Dunk/Kenshin are so dead compared to DB, and makes me wonder what must One Piece/Naruto/HunterxHunter must do to get at least one tenth of DB relevance

Regarding the TOC, I kinda like how Kakushigoto chapter 71 portrays it. (It says weekly shonen magazine, but I think it mean as in a general magazine)

[paraphrasing]
"The page allocation table, The blueprint of the magazine, the arrangement and structuring is very similar to Tetris"

Some times Japanese fans stop following a series chapter by chapter due to multiple reasons and keep up with series through the volume version. I know this happens with lots of other series in other magazine but perhaps this is what's happening with MHA and Haikyuu.
The fall would have to be gradual and isolated.

Easy because it is Dragon Ball, in any year, it will always be the favorite. It is no longer a simple manga, it is a cultural phenomenon.

You can't compete with good old television syndication.

I don't think that's the case. I mean, Slam Dunk for example is dead. Or Saint Seiya, which has had some anime adaptations, but they weren't followed. Or Hokuto no Ken prequel animated some years ago.

Naruto already has a new movie coming out, so there's that.
In One Piece's case, just do a uncensored version of the original anime and it'll pick up pretty quick. Not to forget, they are doing that live action tv series. So that's another thing.

DBZ is still staying relevant because you've got the franchise with all the main characters still very much alive at this point with games, anime, manga all being released. FIGHTERZ game was very well received as well and all of that just helps in keeping the franchise alive.
Naruto's case you've got Boruto which is still pretty decently popular but it's not Naruto and will never be Naruto.

Hokuto no Ken/Saint Seiya/Yu Yu Hakusho/Slam Dunk/Kenshin
None of these were remotely close to DBZ's popularity aside from SD being as popular. But SD really cannot do anything more.
If these series actually redo their anime, it'd get pretty popular again. Look at Devilman Crybaby.

The only time ToC matters to people here is when their favorite series isn't at the lower half. It's funny how MHA fans get so overly defensive.
He says this when the only person to mention anything about MHA ranking to begin with was sharkbait.

People know the ToC doesn't directly equate to how readers feel but baiting others is fun so why not
So everyone just pretends to be retarded every week.:eyeroll

No wonder Magazine and Sunday fans are laughing at us.

MHA edges out SnS as the Anime to be promoted on the cover, so I guess SnS gets a CP only (?)

Their premiere date are just 2 days apart
If my dates are correct, issue 17 comes out the week before the anime begins so its still possible for Soma to get a cover. Whether it will or not is up in the air.

just making sure,

I wish there is an extensive list of the overseas license holder in non major countries

Shueisha said they have licensed to 35 countries(not sure how old this number is) but only mentioned 3 license holder.

oh yeah, you're right.

#17 would be march 26th
and #18 would be on april 2nd.
may not be a cover, but at least a color page. (ideally they would swap between 2 week but eh... we'll see)

april 9th (#19) would be a little late since the anime actually starts 0030 monday.
