Do people really find the non serious moments good though? Its always been Gintama's writers problem. Why do you think SketDan is so good, the person clearly learned the secret to how to manage good fun and action, unfortunately Gintama writer, even after 600 chapters just doesnt get it still.
Not much to go off of but you saw users on this thread outright state their dislike for My Hero's previous arc. People seem to like the current events alot and I would classify them as non-serious. Some might pick the series back up, albeit if they're not watching S3 already. But guess it depends on the content in the end.

The worst I have ever heard in relation to that, was when the infamous 'Shogun Assassination' arc started in the Gintama anime. I heard of people starting to watch Gintama for the first time, but only the 'serious' arcs. You might as well not be a Gintama fan at all.
This

As a Gintama fanboy, I can understand where some new fans are coming from when they decide to skip through the serious arcs in order to get to the meat of the story ASAP

Nevertheless in order for those arcs to really hit you, the comedy arcs exist for the sole purpose of getting to know the characters and getting attached to them so when a 180° gets pulled, shit hits the fan

That's subjective, obviously. Not my point though. The point is, if you don't like the comedy, or are outright skipping all of the comedy arcs to get to the serious moments, then you shouldn't be reading Gintama at all.

There's still a decent amount people who exclusively read battle shounen and don't care about much beyond action and power-levels even within those. I think it makes sense that some of them would start watching Gintama when they hear about it switching to a full action series.

It's not a good way to watch Gintama (since it's still a gag-series first, action second as a whole, and let's be honest here the action isn't exactly high quality) but it's the same thing as skipping through, say, We Never Learn or some other harem comedy SoL just looking for the occasional fanservice.

Now that we've read all the series of the new rounds, where do we rank our current enjoyment series out of we are currently reading?

For me it's
Hinomaru Sumo
Noah's Notes
The Promised Neverland
One Piece
Robot x Lazerbeam
Yuragi
Hunter x Hunter
Ziga
Black Clover
My Hero Academia
Kimetsu no Yaiba
Bozebeats
Dr Stone

Gintama and Haikyuu on hold,
HS, TPN, One Piece, Robot x Lazerbeam, and Yuragi are golden rn and consistently have been imo.
HxH hasn't fully sunk me in this arc but I'm certainly on board.
Absolutely love Noah's Notes, Ziga could be really cool.
I'm really unsure about MHA right now.
Black Clover has been pretty cool lately.
I'm bored of Kimetsu.
We Never Learn is cute but I don't care enough to follow anymore.
Will read Act-Age when we have active scans.
Dr. Stone is nearly dropped. Zero investment.
Jujutsu is trash, Bozebeats mangaka has potential but the manga itself is a mess.

Regardless of anything else, you can't use votes from Western teenagees as examples on how to predict the reception of young Japanese boys,
Find non western examples and your points won't induce eye rolls.
Did I ever say I predict it based on MAL score? No. I think you just misunderstood what I wrote.

I basically just analyze the first manga chapter and make a vague first prediction. That's not only based on my own opinion, but also based on things others might criticize or like about it. Although I often change my opinion after the second or third chapter as one chapter often isn't enough for that. For example Hungry Marie had a really good first chapter, but everything afterwards was terrible which ultimately led to it being cancelled. Which is also why I only made vague predictions after the first chapter from that point on.

Of course bias might cause me to predict wrong, which is why I read through other peoples opinions on reddit, MAL and take the MAL score into consideration just to see if others think similarly or different. So far the majority always shared a similar opinion.

The only exception so far is Act-Age where I'm still torn on whether it survives or not. Although it seems that many like it, there are still lots of factors that could cause a cancellation. Having not read past chapter 3 because there are no Edited Mangas makes it especially hard. Also taking into consideration that Act-Age might not fit into WSJ makes it even harder. For now I think it survives, but I might be wrong depending on how ch.4+ are received, since I haven't read them.

But there you have it, I don't just randomly predict based on MAL scores. If I did I would've been wrong in Hungry Marie's case because it had better ratings than BokuBen at the start before it dropped down.

Of course Japanese readers might think differently, but so far that hasn't been the case. And of course there will be times where I predict wrong. But so far I've been right 14 times (5 of them survived, 9 got axed).

Kimetsu
Neverland
Dr Stone
Zumou
MHA
Black Clover (it and MHA flip around depending on the chapter)
WNL
Food Wars
RxL
One Piece
Gintama
Haikyuu (I didn't care for the last match much but I'm pretty excited again now that it's the Nekoma match)
HxH (some stuff I still like but HxH just seems to get more and more info-dump heavy every arc, it's been pretty much entirely tell not show since it returned)
Yuragi (I enjoy it but I'm not especially attached to the series or anything)

and way behind is Bort which I pretty much only read it because it's in english jump, I doubt I'd bother with it separately.

Noah's Notes and Act-age are my favourites of the newer stuff but I'll keep reading whatever doesn't get cancelled.

I've been here for 80 different serializations. Stop feigning expertise because you've guessed right a few times. Your entire methodology for analysis is flawed and amateur, regardless if they've provided some seemingly accurate results.

Black Clover
WNL- I'm excited for the new arc we're heading into this chapter
Dr.Stone - I'm not really to invested in the current arc so far
RxL - Been pretty good though I'm a chapter or two behind
-- Act Age and Ziga would be about here if they had more chapters to read--
MHA - Not to excited for whats been going on for a while its been kind of meh for the last 12 or so chapter honestly I'm kind of bored of it lately
Soma - Need to catch up with where the end of season 3 first cour. ended at
-----------everything else (I don't read currently read)----------------
I don't really care to much for Jujutsu or Bozebeat they could be better with "catch-up reading" instead of weekly reading. Noah's Notes is just kind of there not bad but I wouldn't miss it if it got axed.

The recent new series have all been pretty predictable, the instant failed series in the past couple years have all had the same problems (either drawing out the hook until ch4 or ch 1 being full of infodumps).

The only surprise was Spring Weapon and it really should've been cancelled right away, it didn't get a non-bottom rank until I think ch 14 which is past the point some series end at.

YnY I placed on hold. I don't read any of these new series unless I'm familiar with the mangaka's past works and/or the first rankings are solid.

Kimetsu dropped pretty damn hard for me ever since the last few chapters of the last arc. The latest arc is okay, nothing as good as the start of the red light district arc which started off very strong with great character interactions/comedy. Overall I still enjoy KnY but I would like to see more from Gotouge.

I would say right now for me:

Black Clover > Noah's Notes > Kimetsu no Yaiba > Boku no Hero Academia > Dr.Stone > Gintama > Promised Neverland > Hinomaru Zumo > One Piece > Shokugeki > HunterxHunter > Boruto > We Can't Learn > RobotxLaserman > Yuuna-san

Haikyuu is the only one I don't read

Shark Bait cares about how attractive the guys are and how shippable they are and literally nothing else, you should know that by now.

I never claimed to be an expert, didn't use the word once in my previous posts. Plus, I don't think it matters how many serializations you've been here or not. If I had been interested in new Jump manga earlier, I would've been here earlier as well. After a certain amount of new serializations, the way you think about them doesn't change anymore, at least that's the way it was for me.

I don't think you can even judge the way I analyze since you clearly can't comprehend how my mind works. My mind works nearly 100% with logic and more similar to a computer program.

For example I can tell for most continuous stories whether the stories were written in advance or are written while the manga is being serialized, simply by subconciously searching for flaws in the story writing. I can't do that for every single manga since story writing tends to be different for lots of genre, but I at least can do this for battle shounen and similar genre. For example Black Clover and Shokugeki no Souma are both written while being serialized. Tabata indirectly confirmed it in an interview as well. MHA and TPN were written in advance, which was revealed recently by the TPN author and I think Horikoshi revealed it a few years ago.

Still, I hope you at least understand that my mind just works different than yours. I don't claim to be an expert or anyone special. I'm just being aware that I'm not normal compared to others in the way I think and others often can't comprehend my thoughts. Although I have to admit that it's often the same in return, but only if it's about interpersonal relationships. As this case is purely about logic though, this shouldn't apply here.

I'm surprised he hasn't jumped on Kimetsu.

I'm seeing a lot of yaoi fanart ever since Tanjirou rested his head on Rengoku's shoulders lol.
