EiC Nakano being experimental with Jump I guess. This is the guy that is still hard at work trying to boost physical sales of WSJ despite that declining for everything in the industry and came up with the Super Push thing.
Pushing a series a lot when they show signs of actually getting an audience is one thing, but getting space in a train station to promote stuff at Ch. 1 is overkill really.
This era of Jump with a new EiC has been weird.
I think he actually knows its not possible for print sales to rise again as Torishima himself knew way back before smartphones were a thing. It might just be a throwaway thing he said to give an image that they're working to better the magazine. He also says that in the context that he grew up on the print version and thus wants make it sell well. If however, he actually does believe that he can raise print sales, then this is borderline stupid. Its basically going against the flow in a bad way.

While I do believe giving Ziga that train station ad is too much as at that point, the story barely even took off, I'm lukewarm on Super Push. At the least, while it may not be pushing up sales to all those series quickly, they are still growing. Aside from Robo, all the series in that campaign have grown. Stone is slowly getting to the 100k, Bokuben might reach 100k with this volume or the next, Kimetsu and Neverland have already hit 100k though Neverland grew due to different sources. Even BC is incrementally growing.

I'm playing the devil's advocate here but I assume the logic is in the fact that if they are gonna give the slots to these new series, then why not just publish some ads in places where a lot of people would see it? It's not the best strategy but there are chances of it having some effect.

I'm pretty sure they hit a milestone before getting those ads, i.e Kimetsu reaching 1 million copies in print.

Kimetsu got one after it hit 1 million but Ziga, Noah, and Jujutsu all got one huge ad for their beginning chapters.

I can see the logic behind this. What this tells me also is that it might not be as expensive as we think to get an ad in Shinjuku station or wherever else.

We MIGHT have the studio and director for the Neverland anime: Cloverworks (formerly A1) and Kyohei Ishiguro (Your Lie in April, Children of the Waves).

Chinese investigation work: https://tieba.baidu.com/p/5685397148?pn=1

In the past 5 days, both Yuichi Fukushima and Kyohei Ishiguro started following Demizu Posuka in Twitter: https://twitter.com/2940san/ and https://twitter.com/chopsparks

Yuichi Fukushima is an important animation producer currently working at Cloverworks/A1. He has his own team and is currently producing Darling in the Franxx.

Kyohei Ishiguro is a director; he worked with Fukushima twice: in Your Lie in April and in Occultic;Nine.

I'm not saying it's confirmed, but the fact that both Ishiguro and Fukushima (who have worked together in the past) added Posuka on Twitter at the same time last week is definitely suspicious.

;)
if A-1/Cloverworks
pls Ishiguro or Ito direct it
His way of attracting great A-1 animators and having well-scheduled shows there is needed for TPN.
A very good decision by them if true.

Didn't all of you literally dismissed Cloverowrks when it was first brought up because Yonkou said no?

Yonko said he didn't say it was Cloverworks because someone on 4chan was falsely using his name.

This director would give me hope for a good adaptation, but I can't fully trust CloverWorks/A-1. I doubt this is an original anime where Posuka made the designs. A PV or a key visual will give me a better idea of what we can expect...

IF it's actually Ishiguro and Fukushima at Cloverworks then yeah, they're gonna knock it out of the park with the adaptation. Their shows always end up with great schedule which is exactly what TPN would need in the current state of the industry. But if it's not them then I still hope the anime doesn't air until at least fall 2019. I wouldn't want them to rush the production like Black Clover.
