Your name was originally a light novel before the movie I think
Didn’t know but still have they ever done something like that? I rarely watch anime original movies outside of a franchise I follow.

SnS has no fujos lol

Whatever I just a new round of series at this point. A comedy would be really great....something really weird like bobobo is what I've always asked for.
Oh, I see what's going on here. That comment I had originally made was in reference to Robot x Laserbeam.

Don't know what i want in Jump nowadays, probably something good I guess. I'll take anything really :cookiestare:invalid.
I have to agree, I'll take anything if it's good and has high survival chances from the start... I'm fine with Act-age, Noah's Notes, but I want something that I'll really look forward to on a weekly basis. The type of thing that you know will get an anime in a few years, I guess, a future pillar of the magazine.

Meh, the mangaka should've concluded the series after the central saga in a few chapters, not introduce another arc/saga. It annoys me when a mangaka doesn't end the series to avoid mediocrity. Im dropping it.
The author did foreshadow it in one of the earlier chapters, maybe it will be the last arc he does for the manga.

I agree. I want something that's there just to be hilarious. Now that Saiki is gone, I need something that the sole purpose is to laugh; no drama or action battles whatsoever.

I quite liked the three Invade You! chapters so far, it's not Saiki of course but I like it more than the other new comedies from the past few years, I think it'll be a great gag series if it gets time to find it's feet.

I agree. It can't fill the void Saiki left, but for what it's worth, Invade You has been pretty good. It's not as funny as Saiki, but I enjoy the silly scenarios I've seen so far. However, it doesn't really seem like anyone is talking about it

We're getting old. Our younger self would love the current titles. It's time to go to Seinen Jump.

I don't think anyone can deny there's plenty of variety in the magazine. It's just comedies we're lacking with Saiki having ended, Lycopene not working out as a new end-of-magazine series, and Gintama probably ending at some point eventually (it's in gag mode right now but it seems to be switching back and forth a bit). We Never Learn is mostly comedy which is something but that's it right now.

Excluding the new at-risk series and the monthly Bort, right now the permanent line-up is

- 4 battle shounen (One Piece, MHA, Black Clover, Kimetsu)
- 4 sports series, two standard (Haikyuu, RxL), one fighting sport (Hinomaru Zumou), and one that's technically not sport but is written as one (Shokugeki)
- a battle of wits/action series (Neverland)
- a gag/action series (Gintama)
- 2 romcoms (Yuuna, WNL)
- and an experimental series that doesn't really fit a specific genre (Dr Stone)

We've pretty much got some of everything right now except a proper gag series.

I'll hold the unpopular opinion that Jump is in a decent spot right now with good variety. Also rooting for Jujutsu Kaisen
My problem isn't variety. That I'll acknowledge. My problem is more to do with entertainment, which is again a subjective aspect, I'll admit. Stone for example is all over the place. Sometimes it'll be boring, then become really fun then become boring and then little fun. It cannot consistently keep a certain level for me. Jujustu is something I'll root for but the 8 or so chapters I read so far before putting it on hold were varying level of entertaining.

+1 for the Jujutsu Kaisen support. I've only read the few chapters that we're translated but I enjoyed them enough to be a lil sad if it's axed.

Yeah that’s exactly what I think you guys are missing. Of course most like battle shonen and it’s what most discussion revolves around but variety really wasn’t ever the biggest issue. Jump simply needs more entertaining manga, they need another 1-2 My Heros or Neverlands. They haven’t done well with cultivating and refining talented series or stories to the readers’ standard. Instead they’re betting on niche crowd appeal by forcing the reader in a hole in which you have to like what the series is going for, which isn’t bad at all, but it possibly alienates a varying portion of the readers’ base due to not enough general appeal, which hurts the word-to-mouth aspect. That’s the disconnect I’m seeing.

I think that’s why battle shonen are so celebrated throughout every era. At any given moment it can be any genre you want it to be. Romance, comedy, drama, thriller, adventure, any of these. That’s why when you hit on one it blows up most of the time.

I agree. The lineup right now is pretty diverse. More than many years in the magazine with different genres.

And that's why Invade You should survive. In theory.

The first 7 chapters are pretty whatever, but 8-14 have been really great.
