WSJ Editor-in-Chief Hiroyuki Nakano say : There seems to be this idea that to sell a lot of magazines, you need "pillars", 3 great series to be exact. Weekly Shounen Jump has three hits with "My Hero Academia", "The Promised Neverland" and "Kimetsu no Yaiba". But if we are talking about the 1+ million class, there is only "One Piece". I fully intend to raise two more "pillars".

Is it translated right? I mean Kimetsu is considered a hit but its sales... Maybe Kimetsu has good digital sales and merchandise sales?. Or the sales data we are following isn't correct?

I'm going to say the same thing I did back when people were just posting Reddit links; this thread is not an extension of Twitter. If you want people to read your stuff on Twitter, tell them to follow you there instead of posting it here one at a time because it kind of comes off as a desperate attempt for likes. Either add some meaningful content to contribute to the discussion or skip it.

"3 great series to be exact. Weekly Shounen Jump has three hits with "My Hero Academia", "The Promised Neverland" and "Kimetsu no Yaiba".

He said 3 great series that are hits and BNHA, TPN and KnY all fall into that category. From what I can understand he considers OP to be a pillar and he wants to raise two more of them, so he wants more manga that can sell over 1 million copies per volume and good luck with that in the current manga market.

Edit: Maybe he considers BNHA, TPN and KnY to be pillars, but in their own category. OP is also a pillar, but a different type of pillar. I don't think it's wrong to say that BNHA, TPN and KnY are current pillars of the magazine, since they're all somewhat newer and they all have really good reception in Japan, plus they will all be crucial parts of the magazine's future in the upcoming years.

KnY is an odd inclusion, unless their preview clip of episode 1 of the anime is like Shingeki Episode 1 tier, Im not seeing how it will launch in top tier pillar status.

They just probably see potential in KnY as a series and how it can grow.

Yeah as much as I love KnY I don't think it can be compare anytime soon with MHA or TPN. Unless the EiC saw some great potential when it gets anime, especially with fujoshi fandom (reading the raw of the lastest chapter I can say Crocodile fully aware of her series's fangirls) and maybe they hope for some great increase in sales like with Haikyuu, but even then pre-anime Haikyuu sold far better than KnY to begin with.

TPN definitely feel like a raising pillar, not only in Japan but worldwide and if the anime success I can see it becomes another Attack on Titan.

TPN just feels like it will be something short lived like AssClass ended up being, so its tenure as a pillar will be so short.

Yuragi anime will be in 12 episodes.
For sure we know now where that will end.
I'm kind of expecting a second season to be announced at the end though, considering the trend recently. Could be split to air in Winter. Also Hibari was shown at JF along with all the other members so unless she appears in this then she'll be in S2.
Unless of course, it's not like this and the manga will move or end.

In case yall wanted to read some more Act Age:
Sniping a series from another Editing group is a big no no. I can't believe you thought posting this was a good idea.

FA now decided to drop the series....

Just a moment, what? I can understand Neverland, but Kimetsu also sells less than Black Clover, how can it be a hit?

And do not you mention even Haykyuu which is currently the second series of Jump for sales?

Author comments from the series that aren't in English Jump:

Forgot momoji no kisetsu but eh
But Momiji is being succesful ;_;

EDIT: It seems Act-age chapter 9 wasn't scanlated by FA, it was made by an anon. And now FA said they're dropping Act-age Edited Manga for that (according to 4chan).

Apparently theres stuff happening in the group and thats not the reason why the translator dropped the series.

Maybe EiC see more potential on KnY than BC

To be honest, I would find exaggerated if FA decided to drop Act-tage because another person decided to scanlate one chapter. I mean, both Jaimini and Mangastream scanlate every week One Piece, Black Clover, etc, and neither group are ''there are other people doing this, I don't scanlate anymore''. I think is more like OfficialHxH has said just now, internal problems that I hope get resolved soon.

Maybe I'm writing with no knowledge. I just want Act-age chapter 10 to come soon.

I think you should research a bit more about Edited Manga before you jump to conclusions.
