Didn't know about this but that's great since it's the best Naruto movie. And the arc that adapted it on anime was even better and more complete.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt cause Moon Kingdom was not good and the one with the stones was better

Unlike those films listed it had STEEP competition last weekend (Code Blue, Mission Impossible, Incredibles 2, Jurassic World 2, Kamen Rider Build) so while it was definitely front-loaded it did held on Saturday and Sunday and actually has been doing good this past Monday. The Last and Boruto also came with special manga I believe (which has been a thing for these movies since Strong World) so I doubt the free manga was much of a contributing factor but it still enticed fans to go see it. Also this week is the Gintama sequel alongside holdovers so its still pretty competitive.

Let's see the figures next week. Usually foreign live films don't contribute that much competition to animated films since many showings are in IMAX theaters. Fortunately, BNHA will be on good hands since it's Obon next week. Gintama is still on 17, and like Code Blue. it doesn't really provide good competition due to different audiences. Id say the closest competition is Pokemon and Incredibles 2.

The only notable next week is Oceans 8

Boruto also faced the same situation. It opened with the same time as Jurassic World, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, Kamen Rider and 2nd week of Minions.

Depends on the films really. Marvel movies don't have any sort of draw for Japan so they're not afraid to release it along side big crowd drawers like Conan but Tom Cruise is still a marketable name in Japan and Disney is Disney so there's still a draw to them beyond IMAX reciepts. One Piece films are huge draws nationwide so investors usually tend to release big foreign films around its release dates so it doesn't eat up the competition. Revival of F opened alongside Furious 7 and it was the only country it didn't open at 1#.

Oooooooo....that was rough. Minions was huge in Japan.

What was worse than Bonds to you outside Moon Kingdom? The Lost Tower and Blood Prision was mostly just forgettable at worst.

Idk, I think just Moon Kingdom may be the worst.. maybe Lost Tower if not for Minato saving it. Road to Ninja somehow made Sakura bearable, Will of Fire cause of Kakashi focus, Bonds cause Sasuke was prominent and Amaru was wife material, Blood Prison had a good fight and main girl was interesting, The Last cause Hinata finally got the bag
