Retro Ryno has finally released the first episode of his Bleach fan project. Johnny Yong Bosch actually voiced Ichigo which was a huge surprise. I can tell that a lot of passion and effort went into creating this episode. Also the ending song is really awesome.

Looks really good in this initial PV. The music seems really good and fitting as well. I wasn't hyped by it even if I was going to watch either way but now I'm more interested on it.
I really like Emma's VA. She's still Coco and Ichigo from Aikatsu but now with a different feel compared to the more genki that the other two have.

its getting an anime so it has to have at the minimum 3mln.
It is wrong

Bokuben back in volume 6 has 1 mln in print, right now it’s at volume 8. Anime announcement with <2 mil in print.

Dr stone is selling less than Bokuben.

Both yuuna and kny have less than 3 mil when they receive an announcement too.

That detective manga thingy with the little guy sold less than <1 mil, same with hz

So i don’t know where you come up with that magic number.

Is it me or does seem like people on this thread don't really care about the toc placements anymore? Or even know what running right now in Jump?
Like people have said, they don’t really mean anything anymore. Especially since the magazine hasn’t been all that competitive for a while. It says a lot that we’ll have like 5 open slots in a few weeks, and that’s assuming Japan and David stick. Not really any chance of anything established to be cancelled when there’s not enough new stuff to put them in danger. They’d just be opening up more free slots they couldn’t fill...

Doesn’t help that most of the currently running series are well past their peak too, so there’s not even any real competition amongst the established series either. MHA and BC and the only running series that have already had an anime that aren’t on a downhill trend (though data for BC is a bit iffy, but it seems to be dropping too, or close to it - and no, I don’t care about magical digital sales). Everything with an anime announced is new and upcoming and going nowhere fast, so again, placements don’t matter. Then there’s Nak’s mindgames too.

The magazine is letting more and more series reach their conclusions naturally rather than cancelling them. Jump hardly feels like the Jump of a few years ago where it was a cutthroat competition between everything anymore. Apart from Jump cancelling new series in under 20 chapters, it’s not all that different from any of the other manga magazines nowadays.

The biggest cancellations we’ve had in the past two years since the 2016 purge were 4 ~70 chapter series (Samon, Straighten Up, Spring Weapon and RxL), which you can hardly consider devastating losses, and mostly survived due to lack of competition anyway. Meanwhile we’ve had Gintama end naturally, and you could argue Isobee and Saiki were the same, though it’s hard to say since they”re comedies (Hope I didn’t miss anything). Saiki’s continuation in Giga all but confirms it wasn’ cancelled though, and both authors had done multiple One Shots in the year or two leading up to their series’ ends too.

That detective manga thingy with the little guy sold less than <1 mil, same with hz
Not sure if we have print numbers for Muhyo, but just based off the sales we have for the last two volumes, it should’ve sold more than 1mil (both sold >50k and there’s 18 volumes so...)

Man, David-kun continues to impress me and I'm really liking it so far which it getting better and better in each chapter. It's the comedy that I wanted to appear after Gintama and Saiki end and I hope it sticks for quite some time.

It would be nice if we had a new round with at least 3 series or more, I feel like that could make things more exciting again. It's hard to know what will happen to the two comedy manga from the last round(which is why I'm hesitating checking them out for at least a year).

With all the upcoming anime adaptations in sight, it will now take a while until we see something new getting an announcement, in the earliest we could see Jujutsu get an one at the end of 2019 and that's quite far away.

Fingers crossed the next round has something that can really get us talking. :catshrug

I don't know the change of WSJ is for better or worse. It's been so damn long for me from the last time I found a new series that make me fell in love with it immediately. The current mangazine is so quiet and a bit boring. However, on the bright side it allowed niche series like Kimetsu survived and gained some decent following as the time go on. I hope the next round will be more exciting, and please 1 or 2 more action/battle manga.

Btw just watch Neverland's new CM. The music is very nice and Emma's VA is cute, that's for sure. But their face is a bit... ugh... off? I love Posuka's art and can't help but feel the anime fail to capture the charming in her art style. But off course this is just a 15s CM, we will have better picture when the full PV come out.

TOCs will start being interesting again after they start debuting new series. I'm personally not sure what I'm hoping for. I enjoy most of the manga currently serialized in Jump, but I'm only really rooting for Act-Age.

I only care about the ToC to see what we are getting in the next issue or if new series is coming, it feels like it lost it value compared to before. Placements hardly matter anymore unless it is a new series. Did the preview of next issue come out yet?

I'm in a similar situation since I read many manga of the magazine and pretty much all of it are already established and safe. Act-Age for me is quite safe but I'm also rooting for it to get better sales to be safer and be successful, with now David-kun entering the equation since it's more newer.

Honestly it seems obvious to me that the TOC now has a relative importance, that is Nevelrand in the last two occupies the seats at the bottom despite being one of the most famous and celebrated manga of the last years ..... now counts only when a series makes low sales .

but it seems to be dropping too, or close to it - and no, I don’t care about magical digital sales
Dropping, yes ......

Even the reference to the magical digital print numbers, really a touch of class, it does not matter if you type ALL the manga of the Jump, they are suffering the effects ... but no, do not exist.

:P

Alice and taiyou ended... I'm so sorry. I really had great expectations for this series

Pretty sure it's gonna be a mirror of volume 11 at this point.
I don't think Horikoshi would be able to draw something like his best volume cover again in the state he's in. :nerd

If people here stopped caring about ToC placements we'd be in the ultimate timeline. That's been the goal. I hope you're right.

We do not exaggerate, it is not in the least as serious as the author of WT. Not to mention that I imagine the cover will be ready for some time now.
