You don’t but companies do.

They are expect to be able to pump out 18 pages/week, it’s part of the contract. I’m saying it’s part of the “contract” since most authors in Jump also draw 18 pages/week (minus gag manga). If horikosh/tabata work for any industry that is not manga, they would be called an under performancer.

It is MUCH better if somebody takes break to recover and get back 100%, rather than be an under performancer

No memeing but don’t bring up togashi lol, he has privilege.
I honestly doubt that the amounts of the pages count as long as the chapters come out.

At least I did not notice it before they pointed it out ...

^You know Dragonball never had chapters that went beyond 15 pages and the standards and practices were the same back then yet it still went on for 9 years all the same.
Were dr slump also <15 pages? Also it sounds like it was consistent 15 pages for 9 years so i’m guessing something going on behind the scene.
You and I and everyone here don’t know anything that happening at Shuiesha. Most of time we play the guessing game. Maybe Jump is okay with this FOR NOW and that’s why they haven’t force a break on neither of them (beside that one mba break). I am just thinking about it logically, if authors were doing 18 pages for the last couple years just fine then suddenly they have a streak of <18 pages, something is up. Not to mention horikoshi acknowledges this problem so we can guess it’s not a positive up.

My Hero is one of the magazine's best-selling manga, one of the most popular in the last ten years, and I think it does not take too much of the number of pages until the chapters come out.

Its not normal at all but I don't think there's going to be action done if he continues since the chapter is still released before the deadline. It would only be a problem if he kept missing the deadline in which action had been dealt with in the past (Eguchi, Hoshino, Hagiawara). And the shorter chapters hasn't really effected the series placement either.

And we thought the volume cover was going to be minimal. Not that it's amazing, but it's definitely more than I thought it would be.

I am really happy the Fire Punch author gets a shot at a series in Jump. After Yakusoku it felt really like a predictable line-up. Nothing too exciting for my personal taste. I hope he manages to stay as entertaining in Jump as he was outside. It's been stale far too long. Let's see!

So, Ore Collection died while Jumpiti which is way worse survived.

And now we are getting Ore Collection 2 which is a RPG.

This was the best mobile game for Jump, sad it's ending. I feel really bad for the people paying for orbs all the time, so many games closed and opened this year, people should stop paying them...

Looking forward for the new game, as always try to get them all with 0 spending.

People still arguing about MHA's short chapters?
If I'm not mistaken, mangaka get paid by the number of pages they do. And more importantly, if Horikoshi and WSJ are fine with him doing the shorter chapters, why does it matter to you all? It's not like the chapters are cut short in between. They start and end just like how they are supposed to.

I wonder if we’ll see Masaoki Shindou he’s been hyped for a while and his art is insane for a 20 y/o
I mean he won last years' GFC, it's not the matter of "if" it's a matter of "when"
Shindou is undoubtedly a great artist, all his manga look great but the stories are bland

I really like that young guy who had that one shot DOGS a while back. And he had a one shot not super long ago. Can’t place his name or the other one shot
Taisei Tsujita, he did 3 oneshots: Dogs, Budda, Grim Reaper
he also did a miniseries on Giga called Nora

In terms of new serializations, has WSJ ever had its own isekai series? I'm a bit surprised they haven't tried jumping on that bandwagon yet
don't jinx it man
don't even talk about the "i" word, Nak the hack might think this is a good idea

Shibata is going to be another entry in "a mangaka that tried his best in Shounen Jump" at this rate....
he did a Yoakemono sketch a while back on his twitter and after receiving many rts he said he's working on something new which he hope he can share soon

horikoshi issues apologies and comments about it being shameful, so clearly the chapters are not "how they are supposed to be" if he isnt even pleased with his own performance.

You do realize that just like how you complain here in this forum, japanese fans would probably send him letters and messages telling him the same. The only thing your comments or comments like yours end up doing is piling on more pressure on him when its clearly the last thing he or any mangaka needs.

How? The leading view that I and others hold have suggested he take a lengthy reprieve from the challenges of doing a manga, meanwhile others want him to power on to bring them the content they demand and believe they deserve week after week with no break or anything no matter how few pages he can do. Its painful.

The ones having an issue are you guys. You brought up how your opinion of the series quality is bad because of Horikoshi not getting enough rest. You're equating his lack of pages to his quality. Whereas, we aren't demanding anything. We are okay with him taking a break or not and with the low page count.

Can you all please stop cluttering the topic with hundreds of posts of arguing with someone who has Bait in their username? Earlier he literally praised Black Clover for keeping the page count lower when necessary in the same post as complaining about MHA for doing it. You guys are seriously awful at spotting trolls.
