Stone sells decent and could have an anime boost.
If you want to talk about failure,Hinomaru Zumou is the biggest one. He was first in a TOC beating OP before it was common, and people tought at that time if it would become a Kuroko-like seller.... and look at it now, selling 20k with an anime...
Not saying you're wrong. But sumo has barely any mass appeal, people who like that moe soft stuff, fujo thing won't really get attracted to it. 9 times out of 10 a random reader would choose a post apocalyptic premise over a sumo premise. I wouldn't even waste my time with sumo. Context matters, hard to say it was ever set up for success when business wasn't ever booming.
The whole “branding” thing just seems to be something they do for every new series now/.
But why compare it to other series? Each series are doing their own thing. The genre and year doesn’t matter.
Different series pick up canvases at their own pace.

Just don’t really understand why it’s success is compared Jujutsu and We Never Learn.
Don’t really see how they correlate to Stone.
For Jujutsu, some series just come out with a lot of sales right out the gate. Doesn’t mean that all the older series selling less than it are failing.
We Never Learn is a completely different genre with a different type of fanbase.
And I still don’t feel like Stone gets anymore promo than the other series in the magazine.
Don't take me wrong, I don't think that Stone is some kind of failure or something like that. I just think that so far, with the context that we have, the manga hadn't lived up to the promotions it gets, same as Black Clover and Toriko but in different circumstances.
For why I compare them, for Jujutsu it's because it's a manga that came later and in few volumes already surpassed it. For WNL, because it's a manga that debuted almost at the same time and it's also above it.
And well, about promotions.. Stone is the manga that got more covers on 2018 and one that got most of the CP internally. Not counting that the manga was for most of the time the manga was put in the first positions as well.
What's the difference between an "artificial" and "natural" success? Both We Never Learn and Jujutsu have received a ton of color pages and promotion, and they're from much more popular genres than Dr. Stone.
Hopefully MHA S4 is better than S3. S3 felt like a downgrade to season 2. I hear from manga readers that S4 will cover the best content but idk they said the same thing for S3. The sports festival & stain arc really feels like MHA's peak to me. I mean the content after S2 isnt bad, just not as good as S2.

I thought season 3 had a better soundtrack, voice acting performances, and animation then season 2 and 1, but the art just wasn’t consistent, more than likely because the main guy wasn’t doing it for the majority of it and focused on the movie
Stone is definitely a disappointment, at the very least. It's premise and science background kind of puts it in a very weird category but you'd be lying to yourself if you think it's not a disappointment.
But hey, it got an anime. So lets see what kinda boost it can get. I don't expect it to go past 175k-200k. Just going by how much its volume sales have stagnated.

If I was Oonishi, I'd push Dr. Stone to high heaven for the next 6 months so that as many people as possible can find out that the anime is airing in Summer 2019. Its social media presence is so thin Jujutsu Kaisen has over double the followers of both its anime and manga accounts put together.
Also, for the prospective boosts of each series; Kimetsu getting to 300k on Oricon would be an absolute miracle. I think it'll be able to do that in 2 months but growth is incredibly difficult right now. Tensei Slime has had its backlogs blow up for the past 3 months with many past volumes charting in the top 50, yet its latest volume which released 2 weeks ago just got to 320k. That's a boost but not as explosive as you'd expect. Dr. Stone getting to 175k would be a miracle in a miracle. Neverland probably has the best shot considering its momentum but even that will probably stop at 700k per volume on Oricon.
On a positive note on Dr. Stone: this third part has been pretty fun and enjoyable after I dropped and skipped the entire Stone Wars. Couldn't do the meathead and bimbo pair again or the edgy former main villain, too much dip and not enough chip. Hopefully it stays at this energy for awhile.

Heroaca is up from last year's 3.25 billion yen despite having 1 volume less. Also, Taizai is quite inflated due to its movie theme song being done by Nogizaka46.
