I think double taisei will merge with elements of mystery.

Sei did not see who pushed Tai.
This series is derailing itself so fast it's almost impressive.

Beast Children was phenomenal.
Samurai 8 and Beast Children are the best newbies I've read this year.
I hope it continues well.

Double Taisei was interesting.

I enjoyed Beast Children more than I expected!
Back in high school, rugby was THE sport of my school and it was compulsory for everyone to learn it and play. I hated it. When the teachers and coaches explained it, they would always say stuff like 'Rugby is a gentleman's game's. On the other hand when I asked my friends who were ruggers; most would describe the fun as 'its fun tackling people'. I think that Beast Children (to me at least) conveys the players' thrills correctly.

Things I liked:
1 - It feels passionate! (See paragraph above)

2 - The Sora character, the part where he saved Sakura's butt by asking a question to the teacher had me laughing for some time.
He feels refreshing to me.

3 - Although the MC is short, the manga never says anything about that being a disadvantage, nor is something that the MC feels is his weakness. In fact, I recall there being a sentence saying how "no matter if you're fat or small, tackling people with all you've got is the true thrill of rugby".

4 - I just like Sakura too, he just gives off a good vibe I don't know why. I especially liked the gag in the locker room when he said "Rugby club ready too!" or something

Things I didn't really like:
1- Yukito. I feel like the "I'll show you the tricks this one time when we coincidentally meet BUT when I see you again later I'll angrily refuse to do it" thing has been done many times already but I still hope that somehow this can be refreshing too.

2- Minor nitpick I guess, but how nobody made a fuss at all when Sakura fell onto the field

Overall I think it's good so far, maybe because I wasn't expecting to like a rugby story, since I hated rugby back in school. I can't wait to see how the author steers the direction of this story.

Beast children : Boring
Samurai 8 : I wonder if really Kishimoto has been working on it since the last year, it's boring.
Good chapter from Saiyuki.
Double Taisei's chapter is really interesting, I hope the next chapter will tell more about the manga's orientiation.
Chainsaw man : The best chapter of what I read

Nice to see your story, I did not find the manga interesting, but I'm glad you liked it.

The staff is comparing with haikyuu but for me it is more of a 2nd major or hanebado.

None of the new batch seems appealing. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they get the axe.

If Kubo came back, do you guys think he would get the same promotion/push that Kishi is currently getting?
Not on Kishi's level. But it would be big push tho. It'll be higher than your regular veteran returning but not as high as Kishi. There's a sweet spot in between that somewhere.

David-kun had a nice ending for what it was. I liked it wasn't trying to be gag-ish for the end, and it didn't have to. Wishing luck to the author!

Kamio Yui...ugh. I am literally re-reading Nurarihyon no Mago (at Chapter 33), and the fact that now 10-11 year old chapters are actually looking better than Yui's current chapter is mind-boggling. And this attempt at an arc is....no comment, seriously. Finally going to stop reading this mess. Lack of direction and vision kills this one. Basically a Hungry Marie 2.0, the mangaka has no idea what to do at this point.

The Last Saiyuki...I have decided to give it a final chance hoping something happens, but nope, sorry. It's just horribly paced and trying to do too much infodumps per chapter which I find totally unneccesary. Shame. Guess I finally have a serialization round (Yui, Saiyuki) I dropped early. Oh well.

Jump's attempts to find a new Gintama are not turning out well, it seems. The problem is that Jump is faster now, so material has to do bigger stuff earlier to survive...but bigger stuff for comedy-geared series tends to just look stupid and aimless. So you're in a situation where both situations are fatal, with very little of a sweet spot.

I feel like Double Taisei just shot itself in the leg. That was a fantastic twist that I did not see coming. Period. A good plot twist like this one and being bold is something I will always support in a shonen manga. Hard to talk about it without without spoiling anything, but I think this is now dead in the water. Which is a shame, but I will continue reading this for sure. Extremely fast paced chapter 2, maybe even overdoing it to be honest.

This could lead to a great character exploration though.

the jump already has a "new gintama", which is the chainsaw man.

It's like I said before, Double taisei will blend between the mystery and the sport.

Beast Children had a very decent start to be honest. Another one where I think Chapter 2 will be crucial in how it develops. Art has improved by a lot, the tackling double spread scene was really well-drawn. Yukito's character art was a bit inconsistent though, through the chapter I felt he looked different at multiple times lol.

Beast Children had a decent start, not as good as I expected and a lil bit predictable but still good nonetheless, not that it took away. Taisei's second chapter was interesting to say the least, will have to wait for the next chapter to see where the mangaka wants to gowith this.

Dude Chainsawman is nothing like Gintama at all, Denji and Gintoki may have some similarities but are very minimum, and that's just it

Random tidbit: the person translating Beast Children was the translator for Toriko.

Agreed. Chainsaw Man is bit too...graphic, for Jump to really treat in the same way they treated Gintama.

I think it's a bit inconsistent for people to complain that double taisei is very fast and they also claim that saiyuki is very slow.

Not that I'm rooting for taisei, since I consider high the chances of only samurai 8 left in this cam.

Pacing is all about balance, make sure plot points are properly established and allowed to sink in, without letting the story drag. It can be too fast or too slow, so it's perfectly valid to complain about either extreme.

Exactly, and the complaints are valid because it's not a reasonable turn for the story to take. Saiyuki's complaints are about how the manga spent eight chapters stuck at Ryunosuke's house, and has been swimming in exposition. Taisei is getting complaints because Tai "dying" is a radical shift to the narrative which lacks any grounding, we can't morn the loss of him when we barely know him, if it's temporary it'll feel like a strange digression, and if it's permanent, then not only has the manga abandoned its entire premise in Chapter 2 due to it being unworkable (which does not inspire confidence), but the entire first chapter will have been rendered meaningless.

Where do you guys find the author comments on MangaPlus?

Saiyuki was excellent this week. Set up relationship dynamics between them and there's a high-stakes, can't-escape, out-of-our-league battle coming up :D

Also, Stivie that's actually so true, Chainsawman is definitely the new Gintama. A bit more battle-oriented initially but definitely Gintama. And to you guys saying Gintama isn't quite as graphic... I have to question if you actually read it.

Beast Children is good, not exception, but something enjoyable to read, i can see it sticking around, the art is good, character design reminded me of early Furudate (considering that and the similarities in the story, I wouldn't be surprised if the author turned out to be a old assistant of him) but the background seems to be non existent sometimes, it's pure white, hope it improves, also, loved the Act Age and BnHA references.
