Seems like you guys didn't understand anything that i said kkkkk

Let's do this again, manga is a product that reflects directly the japanese society, culture, traditions, the way they think and etc, it's a JAPANESE PRODUCT made for JAPANESE'S TASTE! It's a CULTURAL thing, it is what it is because it's made by them, no one said that a foreign can't write or draw a manga, we have many examples, and what all these foreign authors do? emulate in their works everything that japanese authors usually do, because it's their culture and taste, "manga" isn't just something that you call whatever you created because you want it, and trying to imply that someone or even japanese people are "racist" or "xenophobic" if they prefer a japanese writing a japanese manga is ridiculous, so cut the "what if a white person wants to rap or if a japanese wants to write superman but can't" argument because i never said that someone should or not be allowed to creat a manga or american comic book because isn't from Japan or America, let's not try to twist people's words, all this conversation started because someone was being called racist for having a harmless personal opinion, and i'm pointing the fact that it's nothing wrong in having personal preferences, simple, if someone can't comprehend that, i can't do nothing.
nothing wrong in preferring one thing over another, I won't say for other people but for me this is an irrelevant preference, you could live your whole life without knowing anything about the mangaka of the manga your love,(or any other work that have some form of anonymity) you could literally have no idea of their age, gender or nationality until you die, but still like their work.

so someone could have that preference, but it is a pointless preference in my opinion.

so Higuma ToC predictions
I like it the most of the 3 for some reason, but not really seeing it doing that well as of now.

How did we even get here? (I know it is from Nak's interview)

anyway...

the only thing that matter is the quality of the work itself, that is all.

not saying preferring a certain type of work to be produced by certain set of people is immediately racist/xenophobic, but that definitely sounds like stereotyping and narrow minded to me,

anyone can draw manga, anyone can animate, the point being if the quality of the product is good or not,
whether the artist themselves is going for a certain style which may or may not work out for them( even if it doesn't, that just mean they needed more practice/experience),
and if style/feel of the work is suited to someone's taste or not (to each their own).

certain styles of comics can only done by certain people is a product of the past where foreign works are mostly regarded as a novelty. we now live in a connected world, and influence can come from any region of the globe.
You can blame Tarot for being an idiot and calling me a racist without reading my entire post. I think Sharkbait called me a racist first but I ignored it because well...its Sharkbait lol. No troll but I honestly think people have poor reading comprehension here.

Anyway this foreign/mangaka debate should stop here. People not having an appreciation towards Japan's work ethic/culture is making my head hurt.

Ok why dont we leave that whole debate aside since it has NOTHING to do with Shonen Jump, shall we?

Would like to think Higuma ranks decently, it is the one I liked the most out of the 3, tho I'm prepared to deal with whatever they throw at me. One cant really tell nowadays

I read your entire post but you're calling me an idiot because I called out on your racist bullshit like this?
All I said regarding race is that it bothers me a bit to see french (or any western) animators working in Japan solely over the fact that I like Japan being homogeneous as possible. It's a personal preference of mine as I mentioned.
Apparently I have a poor reading comprehension so explain how you preferring one race over the other isn't racial bias? Why does it personally bother you to see a French person working in the anime industry? Did you also get upset when an Australian like Kevin Penkin was composing music for Made in Abyss instead of a Japanese person?

Ne0 last chapter screams rushed ending is coming

what a waste of beautiful art, it's like we have Yu-Ko Osada in Jump, such a shame

Yoda is way better off not collaborating with Hirao after this

he can write better stories than Hirao

and it will take Kitaro's slot.

I wish that will happen just to see the salt from the DB community

Between the three new series, Higuma's probably the one I'd like to see succeed the most, but I'm guessing it'll probably be a one round series.

Higuma so far just feels like yet another one of those battle shounen where having a girl POV character is the only mildly interesting thing about it (Kuro Kuroko, Mitsukubi Condor, etc) that rarely do well in wsj, it's not horribly handled like Red Sprite or U19 or whatever but it's done nothing interesting or stand-out so far. I'd be surprised to see it not bottom, I suppose there's a possibility with the current exorcist boom but we only just got a new hit series about exorcists last year.

It's also shown the least future potential of the 3 so far imo, Chainsawman has it's quirky and unhinged characters driving it, Ne0 introduced a fun major antagonist in the past couple chapters, but Higuma so far just seems to be fighting against boring monster of the week villains. Just feels like a repeat of Muhyo and Rouji without the fun parts.

Agreed on Higuma. It just feels so average atm. Hasn’t done anything bad, but also hasn’t done anything standout or interesting. Ne0 started off very meh, but I think it’s made far more progress into setting itself up and presenting a possibly interesting future in its run than Higuma has.

Mhh, not too sure about the Chainsaw Man axe tbh. Maybe it will get it, but I think definitely at a later point than ne0 and Higuma (sadly for Higuma, but I can see why).

I have a feeling Higuma may actually be below both CM and Ne0 in TOC now lol

Change of topic.

Higuma feels so flat to me. All it has are cool designs. The serious scenes are pointlessly comical and the comical scenes aren't clever. I want it to survive in some other magazine.

Neolation has potential for breaking boundaries. The generally consistent tone of darkness and conflict makes the stakes and tension at least feel real. Also tbh the main character, and also a reasonable delinquent deuteragonist are quite nice and interesting, even if the girl is just another Sakura/Uraraka.

Chainsawman has almost no large scale direction but it has a casualness that allows for much freedom on the authors part which can only be good, as there is less potential to write himself into a corner. Still, we already have several main characters, amazing battles, great gags mixed with dark surreal terror, and sometimes at the same time. And it's the only series of the three that has made me actual feel feels. Also we have an organization, different races, and well presented (aka not shoved into your face in a childish, one note way) questions of morality.

Denji is an interesting thought experiment into what happens if you take away a child's freedom, and completely fail to meet their social needs. He's basically the emotional equivalent of what I imagine a child slave would be like. Now that be is unshackled he is struggling to find a meaning to his life, which I believe is a meaningful struggle in and of itself.
