How long do you guys think this Kimetsu boost will go on for? I'm just amazed that the series is gaining nearly 50k new readers every week. Surely the influx of new fans must stop at some points?

I just checked on Amazon that both physical and digital version for Volume 18 are now in top 50 in best sellers and in Rakuten is n6 (only physical). Only a month away for its release and they are already pre ordering them that soon? I know these are not a real measure but wow.

With known numbers for KnY, it's currently ahead of One Piece by 200k copies

Kimetsu no Yaiba - 9,994,120 copies sold
One Piece - 9,771,454 copies sold
Ay, I placed my money on the right bet. It's amazing seeing something remarkable as this happening. Gotouge must still be in disbelief with all that is happening.

Also, @animeexpert about that sock...

Kimetsu hype is at an all-time high right now, I really dont think the franchise is gonna see something like this again. It's inevitable that sales will decline, but where will they stabilize? Kimetsu can very well do 700k a month now, maybe 750k. That's still really high, and essentially guarantees it being a mainstay in the Top 5. Well... if the series itself continues.

As an aside, I'm pretty sure up to a good half of these series in the Top 10 will most likely end in the next year.
I would be VERY surprised if KNY isn't at least top 5 next year. Unless we get a huge anime (which we have not seem so far given how bland winter 2020 is), KNY has a safe spot. But also, now I'm wondering which series will be in the top 10 once HQ, TPN and KNY end.

:wooo you guys jest but the movie could add another 500k/volume lol. Don't count your eggs before they hatch.
With a backlog boost this strong, it's hard imagining it happening. But, who knows.

Gator-sensei drowning in sake brought by Horikoshi, meanwhile Nakano is facing big-wigs questioning how in the world they undersold KnY and overprint S8 and is currently facing very possible dismissal.

Oh.... I've been saying that I anticipated one of Beast/Taisei/TSS surviving through the next batch, and that it'd probably be TSS that survived.

... what if Beast Children survived instead? It's now selling the best out of the three (so at least the Rugby Cup gave it some kind of boost, I guess) and we know it's going to have some kind of development in #50, even though its latest arc is ending in #49. It'd be kind of a wild development, considering what a bumpy ride the series has had thus far, but maybe WSJ is actually playing the patient game this time? Keeping BC around until the Olympics, when Rugby Sevens will be a featured event, would make sense on some level.

I feel like Beast Children's survival might depend on what's happening with Haikyuu.

If this 'final arc' is really more of a short epilogue and will end quick I figure they might keep BC for a while, since otherwise they'd have no sports series in the magazine. An unpopular series can still adding variety after all.

I don't mind what ends first really, I don't especially like any of them. Double Taisei does at least have some nice gags but the actual core of the series (the drama and mahjong) doesn't catch my attention at all.

It's shogi.

And this illustrates nicely just how important that part of the series really is... :eyeroll

With Christmas coming up in a couple months and the seasonal group covers with it, I'm curious who's going to be at the front and in what order. Haikyuu is probably finally off the top 3 at any rate.

I wonder how prominent Samurai 8 will be too, if they'll still try to push it hard or resign to it being a failure.

do you think jump editors are waiting for the end of TPN to cancel Beast children, TSS and Double taisei ?

I think it should be OP, KNY, MHA, TPN and HQ up front then BC, JJK, AA, Stone and WNL in the middle then S8, CSM, Yuuna and Yui in the upper back and the rest in the lower back. Yui might be in the upper back out of pure seniority but it could be way back there too.

Only two this time and one is adapting an anime that's over a year old? Maybe Jump is just having issues with no one submitting anything worth serializing, even on Jump+.

Goddamn... I got a little worried and thought Mato Seihei might not be doing alright compared to others... then I scrolled down.

I'm not exactly sure how well or how badly each of the new Jump+ series are doing, but they seem to be ranking much, much higher than the Jump flops. I guess I'll have to wait for Shoseki or Book-rank numbers.
