Imo it’s not really “too dark” for Jump. It has dark themes, but at its cour it still feels like a Shonen in the same way as it’s peers(MHA, Black Clover, etc.)
I did not mean it as tone overall here (wasn't Death Note it is compared to also ''dark''?), but it is shockingly original to read something like this in a magazine filled with battle shounen of all kinds of twists, gag manga and sport manga.

I just read the first manga chapter of Yakusoku no Neverland because the anime hype and all (going in blind). Holy crap, I am in. How is this in Weekly Shonen Jump?? I need a proper answer. The art, the characters, the tone shift, the premise...love all of it.
I'd recommend continuing with the manga. I think it fits perfectly in Jump so I'm not sure what you're talking about.

Read me above, it's not about tone what I mentioned. More like a commentary on how different it is towards the rest of the lineup and manga they had recently. And yes, I will sure go on, already reading Ch 2.

I... really don't like the OP of Nverland.

I think that they took a song of a battle shounen, and made a "battle shounen" opening, for a show without battles.
Like, the "Sakuga" of the children doing parkour.
It should've been more atmospheric, with a focus on the "game of tag" between Izabella and the children, something dramatic and dark, like Death Note's

Neverland first episode was great. Sumire was great as Emma and I have nothing to complain on the episode except for the backgrounds which are really mediocre. Otherwise, a pretty flawless episode to me.

And romcom. And acting manga (idk in what genre I would put Act-Age lol)

Noooooo. You kidding me?

Lol romcom/ecchi variations too. Act-Age is kind of original too, in Ch1 I thought it would be Shokugeki no Souma: Acting Manga, which is basically another battle-sports shonen mix but it really surprised me with its direction and artistic writing/pace it has. Also the art is really, really good.

Act-Age is a slice-of-life drama with sports manga elements. It's definitely not just a "sports manga, except about something other than sports" like Soma, though.

Can't say much without spoiling everything, but yes, it basically turns into a action/battle shounen manga in the future, i'm not saying the manga gets bad, but it gets way less "original" after.

It's not really a battle shounen. It's more like what happened to Attack on Titan after
shifters were introduced.

Maybe they tried to use that as way to draw people that don't read the manga in to the show without showing a lot of the real plot and themes not to spoiler the surprises. It has a battle shounen feel to it with the real show theme represented in a more subtle way behind, keeping that suspense and feeling that what you are specting it to be is something different really, just like the manga.

Guess I watched a different promised neverland than everyone else as I wasnt blown away or saw the right hand of God when I watched it to declare it the best things since sliced bread. Sad.

Would have chose different voices for Ray and Norman, neither fit their role, too kiddie and Ray's doesnt even match his personality.

No apparent CGI demons (which was awesome)...but the computer panels were CGI or implemented in a way that made them stick out like sore thumbs, gross.

UVERworld was godly with yet another perfect song, ah I need it in full immediately like, finally someone other than pierrot gets an awesome OP artist for their group, the last time this happened was HeroAca, and needless to say UVERworld delivered the best song in that anime as well. Touch Off will definitely be leading the pack for best OP songs of 2019 (confirmed).

Ray was smiling in it, Anime OP of the forever.

Cygames is literally everywhere now, Nintendo own 5% of them, They had a partnership with Kodansha and Shuiesha, they are also sponsors of Italian football team Juventus. Launched last year their music brand might be rival a big names like Aniplex in anime songs.
I just hope they won't develop any video game for Neverland, they are awful at making them...
Naughty Dog should develop Neverland video game in The Last of Us style, but that's a dream that will never come true. :darn

Yesterday in a TV show, concerning the final volume number of One Piece, ODA said "100はちょっと超えます" which could be translated as "it will slightly exceed 100 volumes - by a (small) bit-)". So no doubt that the series will ultimately make between 110 and 120 volumes, i.e. an end between 2023 and 2025 (within 5-8 years).

Of course, with everything that has entered the manga can not certainly close in just two years.

I'm expecting Neverland to sell over 1M per volume by the end of the anime.
