We theoretically could see Jujutsu get an anIme announcement in as early as a few months. Any bets on who might take it on?
I also expect an anime announcement sometime this year. Hopefully it's going to be a quick one cour anime from studio Bones. We theoretically could see Jujutsu get an anIme announcement in as early as a few months. Any bets on who might take it on?
Well, is definitely a battle and action manga, so i would consider a battle shounen.
For sure. It may not be a quest of becoming the strongest demon hunter/pillar but there is definitely a battle system in the series. A pretty good indicator of a battle shonen, aside from the obvious fights lol.
Speaking of Kimetsu's battle system, it's weak and honestly one of the weaker ones Ive read from battle shonens. Fights are pretty good but as of late the action had been kinda meh. I remember enjoying the battles the most during the red light district the most despite it dragging at some point. It may just be that I loved Uzui's combat style.
Kimetsu shines more in its characters/emotional story/comedy than it does its fights/powerups.
Thanks for the arguments. Makes sense and now I'm not in doubt about it anymore. I guess in the current magazine the Battle Shonen are MHA, Black Clover, Kimetsu no Yaiba, One Piece, Boruto and HxHIt's probably the most battle shounen thing in Jump next to Black Clover currently. Before the current arc (which isn't all that different), the last 3-4 arcs have had basically the exact same structure and there's been so little progress in the way of plot. Go to place>Upper Moon happens to be there>Get into extremely drawn out fight where everyone gets destroyed and ends through some complete nonsense>Short but amazing comedic chapters between arcs>Repeat. Battles for the sake of battles, and it all got very monotonous for me personally. Just seemed like a very bland way to go about whittling down the Upper Moons.
One reason why I'm looking forward to the anime. It's so heavy on battles, and I imagine they'll be much more entertaining once animated. It is kinda a shame though, Gotouge really excels at her character interactions, but the series hasn't really had a whole lot of that for a long time now.

Act-Age and Jujutsu probably will have their announcement this year. No idea about the studio but I'm going to bet it'll be on a unknown studio. We theoretically could see Jujutsu get an anIme announcement in as early as a few months. Any bets on who might take it on?

I mean, as with Aniplex, of course in many of the cases it can be A-1 or Cloverworks but there's other cases where their subsidiaries aren't the animation studio, like many times with Ufotable (which is the case with Kimetsu) or Shaft (with Nisekoi, Monogatari, etc).I also expect an anime announcement sometime this year. Hopefully it's going to be a quick one cour anime from studio Bones.
Other possibilities I'd like to see are Wit, David Production, Production I.G. and maybe even MAPPA.
What I wouldn't want to see is Aniplex and A-1 Pictures/Cloverworks take it, I really have not been a fan of how they handled the majority of their shonen manga projects, including TPN. But they are a strong possibility.
Studio Pierrot would probably be the worst case scenario, I don't trust them at all. If it were them it would be likely the anime was longer running. Even if they would make it short I still wouldn't trust them.
and Chainsaw, Higuma, Jujutsu, SaiyukiThanks for the arguments. Makes sense and now I'm not in doubt about it anymore. I guess in the current magazine the Battle Shonen are MHA, Black Clover, Kimetsu no Yaiba, One Piece, Boruto and HxH
Sure, Aniplex can more or less collaborate with anyone, but A-1 and Cloverworks are their own subsidiaries so it's in their best interest to give some them high profile projects. That's most likely why they insisted on Cloverworks doing TPN.I mean, as with Aniplex, of course in many of the cases it can be A-1 or Cloverworks but there's other cases where their subsidiaries aren't the animation studio, like many times with Ufotable (which is the case with Kimetsu) or Shaft (with Nisekoi, Monogatari, etc).
Hopefully not. Unkown newer studios especially nowadays tend to have really crappy inconsistent works.Act-Age and Jujutsu probably will have their announcement this year. No idea about the studio but I'm going to bet it'll be on a unknown studio.

HaikyuuKimetsu movie was really, really good. Will be better animated than AoT and have better foght animation as well. The way they used sound is amazing. Super emotional too. Seriously this will be the best Jump adaptation, ever.
What are your favorites by the way? Haikyuu is definitely up there.
Same. But thinking about it, maybe he is going to do some manga adaptation of the game? Like Ranbu. Jump doesn really do those but maybe there is first time for everything...I honestly doubt that Kubo's announcement on the Jump is limited to his participation in a video game ....
6 new series serialization? I feel like Shonen Jump+ is trying to become like Netflix for manga, launching multiple ones each month, throwing them to the wall and keeping what sticks with limited promotion lol. I am glad it offers an alternative place for mangaka to work in a less pressuring environment and with their own pace, but too much is too much.the rest of the April lineup

Well considering it said we’re getting a poster on his new project, and given the way it was worded, that’s exactly what I think it is. And they’re not just gonna give us a poster of a potentially new series. Probs just a freebie of his art to help promote the game.I honestly doubt that Kubo's announcement on the Jump is limited to his participation in a video game ....
Yeah, the game publisher probably paid WSJ to promote it using Kubo's name.Well considering it said we’re getting a poster on his new project, and given the way it was worded, that’s exactly what I think it is. I admit I don't pay a lot of attention to Jump+ but have we missed anything since Manga+ started? I know we got Arata Primal and Spy x Family but Idk if other stuff started that we missed.I wonder if any of the new Jump+ stuff will be on Manga+, Heart Gear would be the obvious choice due to Black Torch having some minor western popularity but their picks have been a bit random so far.
for reference, series from previous months batches that were added to Manga Plus.I admit I don't pay a lot of attention to Jump+ but have we missed anything since Manga+ started? I know we got Arata Primal and Spy x Family but Idk if other stuff started that we missed.
Isnt the translation done by a third party unaffiliated company? I dont see how that company would have any sort of say.I do wonder who approaches who, for the Manga plus serializations, do the editorial stag pitch to the translation team, or it is the other way around?
