In fact, the positions in this TOC are pretty conventional.

The only weird thing is that Samurai 8 and Yuuna have fallen below Yui Kamio. However, that would not be so strange if you see the positions in the previous TOC.
Rafa was talking about a previous TOC posted in the thread (which was fake) and not the stickied one.

I don't think we're at a point where we can call Yui "safe". The sales of the manga still seem pretty pitiful from where I'm sitting.

Even if Yui Kamio's popularity does suddenly skyrocket, it's going to need to at least triple its volume 1 sales with volume 2 if it even wants to hope to succeed.

Goddamn that BNHA anime poster is lazy. They only spent effort on Bakugou and Nejire from what I can tell, and the background is so cheap. They had a year though so I'm hoping the actual animation will be good. (It should, unless the 2nd movie is already in production and they nabbed the director again...)

Anyone got any spoilers on Yozakura? And wow quite surprised with Yui Kamio, guess it still has some fire in it, tho only time will tell, when is its second volume coming?

Regarding Samurai, I believe that the true result will be seen in the next chapters where the story will go live and the sales of volumes in October, they have already sold the series all over the world, so I think it's impossible for it to be closed soon (and certainly a minimum will sell it even just for the author's name) I think that at most it will be decided if it will be a short or long series, that both Kishimoto seems to be ready for both eventualities.

It's step-sister which were completely strangers before. Not really comparable and not even incest. lol Hell, putting a boy and a girl like this is already a big possibility for them to get into a relationship since they weren't created together or anything.

I notice a lot of sentiment that a series has one foot in the grave the instant it enters the bottom 5. Not only am I not convinced that viewpoint is super productive, but I've also started wondering if that's just something that naturally happens to a series before its first volume comes out. Yes, a series might slide into the bottom 5 and stay there if its volumes sell badly, but there are several series that were in the bottom for months, and then hopped back into the middle as it started moving volumes. Yui Kamio being a very timely example.

Not convinced? Lets take a peek at Chainsaw Man's TOC timeline, bolding the times it hit bottom:
  • Debuts in December 2018
  • Gradually slides down the TOC before making its first Bottom 5 appearance with Chapter 9 (Feb 9, 2019)
  • Stays in the Bottom 5 from Feb 9 - March 11
  • Volume 1 releases March 4th
  • Chainsaw Man jumps to 13th place on March 18th. Hovers in the bottom-middle slot for several weeks
  • Hops into 9th place on April 27th, starts consistently getting middle placements
  • Volume 2 releases May 2nd
  • Chainsaw Man dips back into the bottom for a single week on June 3rd (Tokyo Shinobi Squad's debut)
  • ROCKETS into 3rd place on June 17th
  • Goes back into getting middle placements, and has been there ever since
Chainsaw Man is now considered a success, but was starting to falter during a period where it had been running for a few months, and had no indicator that people were enjoying it because there was nothing to buy yet.

All of the Reiwa debuts are at this exact point in the timeline. At least a couple of them are probably doomed to stay at the bottom (Taisei and Beast Children descended faster than Chansaw Man and have been alternating the spot at the very bottom for a little while now), but I think a couple of them are going to move back up after sales figures of their first volumes come in.

Samurai 8's first two volumes moving copies seems like a particularly safe bet based on the author alone. Will the third volume sell well, after people curious about Kishimoto's new project have read the first two? That's a good question. Either way, I don't think it dipping into the bottom this week means its going to stay there past October, let alone get axed any time soon.

Anyway, I'm far from being an expert on all this, and I hardly think my projections are fact. But I thought I'd share some recent observations regardless.

All very reasonable...but I think it's worth pointing out that Samurai 8 was subject to a massive advertising campaign and has the promise of being from the creator of one of the biggest manga of all time, so Jump pushing S8 to the bottom so soon doesn't say exactly great things about how it's being received IMO. I could be wrong though.

Would anyone happen to know where I could find a list, or an archive as it were, of past ToCs? I'm curious now to look and see what successful series have done poorly in the ToC for how long, and the same with flops sitting high.

There are also TOCs on Comic Vine from before 1999.
