Seems that Kamio Yui just can't break out with the readers, even with the reboot. Or the Vol 2 sales made Shueisha sideline it, who knows.

I am actually more surprised about the recent Taisei upswing. I really want to see it making it, but those sales...

TOC is basically using the same template for weeks now. One Piece, Kimetsu, Stone, Neverland at the top, followed by the Haikyuu, MHA, BC, WNL in any order, then Chainsaw, Yuuna and Act Age, Jujutsu alternating between the last mentioned 2 groups, with 5 newbies ending the magazine.

Wait fuck I just realized the volume 4 cover for Chainsawman is basically the Japan flag horizontally.
So if you hold the volume horizontally you'll see Aki not standing, but lying down.
We're originally led to believe this cover is just him in the current arc doing his thing...
But given the above deductions, and the fact that there's a unique bloodstain on his face "x", and his eyes look dead....
Well I'll leave it to you to make your own conclusions. Future is worst :emocat
But if I had to guess he'll die without his jacket on, with that bloodstain on his face, in that pose, with his eyes empty or with the future devil's eyes, collapsed on top of a Japanese flag

Now I'm even more convinced. Victims in mysteries spell out the culprit's name near their corpse. Look where Aki's hand is pointing in the name "Chainsawman".
MA

Edit. Apparently the "flag" is the future devil's eye but also it's the fourth volume so... Japanese learners u know what that means

In other news, Jump has done a new "Four Up and Comers!" promotion. Dunno if Samurai 8's inclusion should be surprising or expected. Personally, I'm just happy how we can concretely call Chainsaw Man part of the Jump canon.

This should answer the doubts that few people had about whether WSJ stopped pushing S8.

This is me being a slowpoke, but I've found Hawks in the new Hero Academia movie poster.

Wait. There's no way the anime has reached that point by December.

So Hawks is going to debut in this movie.

I jus't can't see the series ending that soon. Latest volume that came out went up to chapter 133 which was the beginning of the mini arc that ended with Emma's return in 144. One volume is 9 chapters so volume 16 will be chapters 134-142 so at the very least volume 17 will be until chapter 151, which is 6 chapters when counting from the chapter coming Monday.
The series ending in volume 18 would mean resolving all lose ends in like 10 chapters which I just can't see happening considering the current pace of the manga.
Yeah, I'm thinking more of 19-20 volumes so 169-179 chapters maybe. I don't think the series can end in less chapters considering the upcoming developments are pretty major story wise.
So considering we're getting a big announcement next week and this might be a countdown to the end, looks like the series might really end with volume 18 with chapter 160.
If I recall some convo this morning, Neverland is 6 chapters left to end current volume.

I don't see Neverland ending in this volume however, but in next one. That would mean like 15 chapters left. I totally see it being the remaning length for the manga completion.
Looks like you were right since August 2nd was the release of chapter 145.
Well done :verily

The anime won't reach that point until 2021. The movie will have huge spoilers for anime only viewers.

As I pointed out, One Piece's current OP shows Yasuie's execution like, 40 episodes before it happens in the manga. Why is showing Hawks, a very popular character who just hasn't appeared in the anime yet, such a terrible thing in comparison?

With OP the thing at least takes place in the same arc. And it's not just Hawks. With BNHA's movie and where the anime is right now the movie will be 5 arcs ahead and the anime will need at least 2 2-cour seaons to catch up with where the movie is.

Chapter 160 would be very neat all things considered. Final chapter of the publication year, and the perfect note to conclude this thread on. (That, and the faux awards show I plan to host for fun)

The question is, when is the next batch of series? Because TPN's conclusion would still be two months away, but I really can't see Jump stretching things out that far for the failing newbie trio of Taisei, Beast and Shinobi.

So Neverland will be at Ch.152 this week, so 8 more? Though the final volume could have some extras, so there may be even less than we think it could be.

I assume they will debut a new round soonish, and leave Neverland spot as a free one for oneshots and Jump+ promo.

Legit, how good a year has this been for Jump+?

This year, they got the legit biggest new series of the year by a landslide (Spy x Family), one of their completed series got a successful and well-received anime (Astra), another successfully broke 1 million in total sales (Jigokuraku), and one of the authors who got his start on the platform was able to join the main Jump canon (Fujimoto). Add in the massive amount of promotion for series in WSJ itself, and it feels like this year has been the one where Jump+ has legit become a competitor to the main WSJ publication.

That I can say all this even after they thought publishing Dear Sa-chan was a good idea is especially impressive.
