In the West and of all my friends I know they don't like such stuffs
But that doesn't matter. In Japan, Act-Age is selling a bit more than 110k per volumen (first month). They were talking about the possibility that an anime adaptation could make Act-Age even more popular.

If I am not mistaken wasn't Ballroom e Yakusou popular in the west?

There will always be a certain section who will prefer this genre.

I think by the next 10 chapters we might have a rough idea of how fast the author wants the plot to advance (that's still 5 months from now), and almost a year in serialization ( 2 weeks/chapter, 25 chapters total)

Since chapter 7 introduced the 2nd objective, and we are now at chapter 15 with nothing to show.

Since Kimetsu is gaining insane popularity and sales I think this won't be the final arc or battle, the manga might continue much longer
I hope not.

Stretching a series like that IMHO could be very dangerous.

Just people trying to dab on series they hate, nothing new.
Can y'all maybe stop saying we're trying to dab on whatever when the only purpose we have is to analyze whether a series is doing good on the platform or not? Are we even lying about it? I did even say we couldn't compare it completely, and we're still supposed to be just hating irrationally on something?

We compare series on the platform basically because they are on it, and knowing what attention do they gain when they don't have scans is useful to determine what kind of acceptance or popularity do they have. Why would they be unrelated when every single series in the platform is related to each other? We're just trying to see which are famous, which have more potential or which are in the bottom and why.

I mean, why should we even bother to post data/information about series if whoever enjoys the series and considers that information negative will take it as something offensive.

Shoseki ranking is out for October 6 and it looks like TPN overtook KNY for #2. Could it be because they underprinted? Also all the other volumes are ranked 10-25.
It seems Shoseki ranking is the same as tsutaya ranking
+October 6

+October 7

So maybe Shoseki ranking (top 20) Sep 30th - Oct 6th

Kimetsu novel 1 and 2 rank 14th and 1st, respectively in book from Sep 30th to Oct 6th

So I voted two serializations for this week's poll. In the spirit of things, I'd like to make some additional predictions. I'm not 100% confident about any of these, but why not throw out what I'm thinking and see what happens. Could be fun!

First off: no axes or new serializations until November. That means I think the earliest axe will be Issue #49, and the earliest debut in the new batch will be Issue #50. One reason I think this is that the previous serialization round was Issue #40, and serialization rounds tend to be at least 10 issues apart lately. There have been several exceptions to that rule over WSJ's history, but that hasn't happened yet during Nakano's run as Editor in Chief. Also, we've already gotten 11 new series this year, and even one additional series will mean we've gotten more debuts in 2019 than we've gotten in the previous three years. So I think not only that the next batch will be the last one in this serialization year, but also that WSJ isn't in a big hurry to release it just yet.

Second: at least one of Double Taisei, Beast Children, and Tokyo Shinobi Squad will survive the next batch. Obviously I think that we're only getting two axes this round, but I also think that if there's a third cancellation it'll probably be Yui Kamio. Three series from the same batch of three or more also getting cancelled in the same batch is not only very improbable statistically, it also hasn't happened since 2011. I also just get the general vibe that, because so many series are ending and none of their replacements thus far have been hits, WSJ will keep at least one of these three around to see if it gets a second wind. My more specific guess is that Taisei is definitely cancelled, and that one of TSS or Beast Children gets to stay for at least one more round. Leaning towards TSS being the survivor out of those two.

Third: neither We Never Learn nor The Promised Neverland are ending this batch, but at least one of them will wrap up for the following batch. Possibly both. This is also probably when the remaining survivor of Taisei/Beast/TSS will be axed, barring a miracle. I think that batch will happen either late January or sometime in February.

And finally: one debut in the upcoming batch will be something a lot of us think is pretty good. The only "this is good" consensuses we've had so far this year for the main magazine are Chainsaw Man and, to a lesser extent, Yozakura Family. I'm gonna be an optimist and say that the next quality new series is right around the corner. It's also been a decent while since we've seen a real hit from WSJ, so I feel like the alternative would just be kind of depressing at this point.

Whatever happens, I'm excited to see what the next batch is like! Both Yozakura and Mitama have been pretty fun for me, so I'm hoping that this is the beginning of a quality spike for the publication in general.

Do you guys think that Act-Age can explode with a well done anime or is it too edgy for that?
Oh anime has no limit, nothing is too edgy nowadays. Acting animes are never a "hit" world wide or is known for it. But act-age prob gets an over average popularity. But who knows, it may be one of the first hit acting anime that is gonna get attention

If TPN can overtake KnY, it probably means that their sales are going on par. And if that's the case, then I'd say it's unlikely KnY will surpass the MHA/TPN peak this month, because TPN itself already went down from that.

So:

Chainsaw Man
Jujutsu Kaisen
Yuuna and the Haunted Hotsprings
Hinomaru Zumo
The FIRST volume of Spy x Family, that came out like half a year ago

all beat the first and second volume of Samurai 8.

I'll admit things could look better.

Man i hope L'etoile get picks up by M+ or continue by scans, i read some of the raws and it's very interesting to see Shinomiya's life.

Spy is on track for 200k first week, perhaps the 1 million in circulation before vol 3 might not be a pipedream anymore.
