Moderator Notice: Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.
These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

On the Jump+ side of things manga+ feels weirdly empty without Dricam!, it was for the most part the only series to update over the weekend (except the everyday classics).
I hope they pick up a new Friday or Saturday night series.
When I skimmed through the oneshot a while back, my main takeaway was 'the girl looked better before cutting off her hair'. Looks like it's gonna get cut again.
YuYu Hakusho it's more a case of a time where dubs were more "loosed" with those things since there was no internet or even "anime fans" per se, and well, to be very honest i had to watch the subbed version because i couldn't stand the dubbed version kkkkk, but i know its considered a great dub.
Here in Brazil or here in USA? You're from Brazil? thougth that you were American by the flag.
The double page thing is really annoying, horizontal or vertical, still the same thing, i don't really know what is so hard in just puting the double pages like they're supposed to be.
The quality pages are also quite poor, i just got a new smartphone last month, a quite bigger screen than the one i had until now and man, drop in the quality of the pages is noticeable with a bigger screen, isn't something that kills the enjoyment but is quite bizarre that scans are able to deliver much better quality than the official.
And finally, the chapters being deleted, this is something that i will never not complain, i can try to understand with the giant series like One Piece, BNHA and etc but i just don't understand whats the deal of deleting chapters for almost all series including the flop ones, this is supposed to be a official place where you can read free manga but you actually can't, any person that discovers a new manga because the app or wants to read one of the series with only 18 ~ 23 chapters can not do because they delete it for whatever stupid reason, i already had to read many chapters of Taisei, BC, Yui and Shinobi on Kissmanga because of it, and the sad thing? the fact that some people are actually asking for them to implement a monthly subscription in a free app instead of asking for them to just keep the chapters already posted in the app -_-
They're literally censoring the character's main traits of being rude and disgusting. If he's a character who says things like that then maybe he's just not as lovable as you thought. Besides, the overwhelmingly larger fanbase of anime fans who saw that scene had it translated properly.
Didn't say anything about controversy. I've seen many just taken aback by it since he'd never done something like that (and hasn't since).
Some tried to claim that's just his character, but in addition to his character having never done anything like that before or since, Gotouge could've easily had him just use a threat of violence that wasn't gendered (as I said, arm/leg breaking, etc.). Those I've discussed the issue with either say (1) yeah, it was bad, but at least it was a one time thing; (2) oh, I forgot about it, but at least it was a one time thing; or (3) that's just his character (already pointed out the huge flaw in this argument).
I'm just glad the anime subs went with the original.
To me Inosuke is someone who would say "I'll rip your balls off" so I see no problem with what he said.

"just learn Japanese" is stupid, it takes years and defeats the point of translations in the first place, and you can only notice issues once you learn Japanese anyway. And you can't expect your audience to learn a language just because translators aren't doing a good job.
and there are clearly different ways to translate, having a free market with competing Edited Mangas was pretty nice. Also once your Japanese gets past a minimum level you can pick up on mistakes in translations but reading can still be too much of an effort, which is really annoying.
The worst part is the localization. I will never not be annoyed at Chrome's "BAD!" which no native speaker would say in the situations he does.

"Someone who would say" is not the same as "someone who has said". As I've said (multiple times now), he had never said something like that before then and has never said something like that since. It would've been incredibly easy to use a threat of violence that wasn't gendered (especially when the series has so few female characters).
Anyway, this is pretty much all KnY-related, so if you wanna continue this, just pm me or we can go to the KnY section.
It's a Viz Original in that Caleb was the one who came up with it for translating Chrome's catchphrase, I do believe that the Funi dub uses it at time, but that's probably because whoever worked on it read Caleb's translation to keep in consistent.
Personally I really like Caleb's work on Dr. Stone, it is true that someone probably wouldn't be screaming "BAAD" all the time in regular speech, but Dr. Stone is a series where the main character adds crazy numbers to talk about how certain he is of things, it's not exactly a series where the leads talk like normal human beings.

I do not understand how "BAAD" doesn't make sense, sure it is not normal speech, but I think it's pretty self explanatory what it means, especially when read in the context of whatever sentence Chrome says it in. I am not really sure you could get anything better as a catchall for translating his catchphrase without making him say different things in different scenes (which is what the CR subs did) but in that case it doesn't become apparent that he even has a catchphrase to the reader/viewer.
Surprised no one here has reacted to the confirmation Kimetsu is at its climax, considering the amount of people arguing Jump wasn't going to let it end.
I wouldn't put it past Jump to advertise it as the climax and then it still continues. Just pull a NnT and continue past the chapters literally called "Epilogue". Or we'll see the adventures of Bonjiro: KnY Next Generations.
