Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Took the liberty (since I'm in the middle of social distancing and have nothing better to do) to complement this list. Characters in bold are new to the list or moved places. Numbers with asterisks reprent popularity polls that were conducted online. Also, kept the 10.000 votes threshold. This list will probably need an update soon with BC's, CSM's and DS's being all online and coming out in the near future.

Eh, here's where it gets even more flawed though. Act-Age's votes were online, counted multiple times and even ouside Japan. Comparing polls with different systems just doesn't work.

Hence I signaled those with asterisks and will do so with every other online poll that comes out. For me, this is just for collecting data and check how polls progress since online based ones are bound to take over. If you want to count them out, you can do as you please.

KNY's spoilers coming out and there's only stuff about the story, nothing else so far.

Mashle is at good ranking again and I'm surprised Undead didn't make it on Top5 despite the hype from this thread and Japanese twitter polls

Eh, weibo has lied before. No pic means no confirmation, as usual, especially since stuff doesn't seem to be coming out today.

because UU only take off after chapter 7.. chapter 1-6 always in the middle... while mashle strong since chapter 1 to 4 and then take slow dip,..
and we know that this board and that tiny twitter poll is not good representation..

You don't get it what i've said. They improvised everything and put a new content instead rather than recycling clips, barely movement and repeating shots like they did from the past.

It is now drawn by an excellent storyboard that it can fill those gaps from the manga. Like the missing canon of Zoro and Yasuie first met at the gambling house and they nailed those off panels from the manga like it was different animé (feels like i watch Kaiji from that filler)

If you don't enjoyed the slow pacing it's fine but i still looking forward those storyboard talents on what they can do create new content that it can elevate better on what in the manga can't do and i'm happy that they don't copy-paste the manga101, they can go wild to their imagination.

Just don't be narrow minded like it is always the pacing problems is to blame, and ignoring all of those hard working creativity throughout 20+ years of it's run.

I dare you the watch episode 925 (where it covers only 12 pages) and it disapproves your opinion completely. It can still create a top notch episode while it covers half of a chapter and it does adaptation better than a good paced seasonal anime episode.
I'm sorry but I don't see extending 12 pages into an entire episode as "elevating the source material". That's something only a diehard fan who also follows the manga religiously could say, imagine being an anime-only and having to endure this crap of worthless screentime because toei is getting too close to the source material. 25 minutes of HALF A chapter that is literally based on nothing is not good and it's most certainly not "better than a good paced seasonal anime episode".

I chose now if all times to be curious and check Kimetsu spoilers, despite me being an anime only.

Holy fucking shit. I’m gonna call bullshit on one particular spoiler but if it actually happens, my god, I can’t wait to see that animated in around 2025.
Yeeeah you really should not have opened that, lol.

It's impressive how some of the newest series get so many votes in their reading polls, I mean when you think about it Act Age is selling what..? 150k volumes? And it got 35k votes, that's pretty crazy engagement.. Can voters vote online now or is there something different with how they vote?

The Act-age poll was over 14 days online, you can vote once per day - that will likely have affected the number of votes vs. other popularity polls.

Or a live action.

Well, what were the two important things? Was he talking spoiler wise or just tease something else?

Don't mind me, just celebrating my princess Chiyoko victory.

Since the Chainsawman poll is also global, and Chainsawman is way more popular than Act-age in West, there are some real possibilities of any character to beat Gohan in votes. Well, Chainsawman has a way more diverse cast so I also see it difficult to happen.
