Wake up and see the thread has been taken over by conspiracy theories, oh my.

Anyway, regarding the uncertain's club, here's my recap:
  • Mission: Yozakura Family: Has been around for four entire volumes now yet has yet to show any actual growth or improvement in reception. Sales were surprisingly okay considering that, but really I see little future for it, especially with how badly it does in rankings.
  • Mitama Secureity: Opposite to Yozakura, good reception and rankings but abyssmal sales. Gag manga are generally a loss leader so Jump is entirely in their right to keep it around for some time, but until then...yeah, no.
  • Zipman: Banished to the U-19 pit, along with Shibata's career, dignity and sunglasses.
  • Agravity Boys: Perhaps the hardest to determine given its reception and sales. The series is basically just winging it insofar as storytelling, so we'll see. Almost 20 chapters in, though, and no CP.
  • Undead Unluck: Looks like it has a very strong chance already. Exceptionally strong reception from readers, decent Vol 1 sales considering circumstances, and a CP for next issue. Worth placing betting tickets behind.
  • Mashle: Chances are split between it's good presentation VS readers accepting it. Jump clearly wants it to succeed, with the strong TOC placements plus a very early CP at Chapter 12.
  • Guardian of the Witch: Dead.
  • Moriking: Maybe too early, but I have a feeling this'll go the way of Mitama.
  • Bone Collection: Again, maybe too early, but the very poor reception from Japanese fans gives me little hope.
  • Time Paradox Ghost Writer: I'm not a time traveller. But Tsunehiro Date is good art man.

Someone commented on Twitter earlier, but it seems Mashle trended for a brief moment. I wasn't able to check it myself but how amazing would that be.

For me, Mashle is bound to success. Many people call him a One Punch Man rip off, and I can understand that, specially when It comes to humor, but I think it's more similiar to Mob. Either way, we know that if done right, that type of comedy manga can work.

There's also the Harry Potter parody, wich works so well, and there's the fact that HP is HUGE in Japan, so another plus.

My only negative point is the supporting cast... Besides Mash, everyone else doesn't really work for me. Which is something that ONE does masterfully in both OPM and Mob.

I also want UU to survive so bad man. It's too good. Everything else for me feels like are going to get the axe eventually.

Not going to consider the future of Moriking or Bone Collection yet, way to soon to tell. Everything other than Witch seems like it could have a bit of a chance to stick around for a while, though with variety of likelyhood. Mitama I can really only see lasting until another gag does better, if Moriking debuts to solid rankings and sales, I think it'll instantly be goodbye Mitama. Yozakura is definitely in an awkward position, but I could still see it lasting. Undead seems very likely to make it at this point unless volume 2 sales are disappointing, same with Mashle, everything seems to be going right for that series. Agravity is certainly in a weird place, it doesn't do the best right now, but I really think that given time and exposure, that it could sell and rank much better, and this is just personal bias, but I would sacrifice all the other newbies for this one to make it, I like it that much (and I like plenty of the other newbs a lot as well)

The pages on Manga Plus aren't automatically in full screen for all of you too? it's annoying having to zoom each page.

I would too, I really want Agravity to succeed. If it came down to it, and Agravity or the other newbies had to be cancelled, I'd prefer Agravity to survive even though I really like UU and Mashle

Honestly don't see why Agravity has so many favours TBH. While it is funny on occasion, I feel the series is hamstrung by just how flimsy its story and setting are. There's just no sense of structure or order to any of it.

Personally I think Agravity Boys is massively wasting its premise. They're on an alien planet yet still spend half the chapters entirely on LOL CHRIS LOOKS LIKE A GIRL!! We just had a good mini-arc with a whole alien city and technology and stuff introduced then it immediately went back to the same stupid joke they've already exhausted. I'm so sick of that one gag.

I also don't like having entire chapters about Gerald, Baba, and Grislow being useless pervs but it seems like its toning them down a little the past few weeks which is a good sign. They're funny as quick gags to interrrupt up the more serious characters, but when the whole chapter's about one of them being a pervert I just find it annoying.

I don't know, I guess it just hits my funny bone? I also just really have found myself digging the cast. I do agree with most that it could to well to incorporate the sci fi elements into it's jokes more.

Idk, I just find it the most enjoyable out of the newbies. I enjoyed every chapter of it.

For Undead, the start of this arc wasn't interesting for me compared to the previous chapters, though its getting interesting now. Mashle I didn't really care about at first, but recently its become one of my favorites. Guardian just got worse imo, and I don't really care for it anymore, and Yozakura is alright(some chapters are good, some are boring). Moriking has been great, and Bone Collection is meh.

Agravity has been consistently fun to read every week for me. I really like the characters, and the jokes are funny for me.

I wouldn't mind seeing any of the current series stick around though. Even Guardian I think has been a fun enough read after the first 5 chapters, it has good ideas in it and I think it's showing signs of improving and learning how things work, it just needs more experience and polishing. It's too late for it now but I'm hopeful for the creator's next series.

While last year I was skimming through most the series quickly each week after their intro chapters, only reading them for the sake of reading everything and hoping they would end soon.

Hard to agree with you when the last chapter was genius and hilarious, and also a sign that the author knows very well his audience seeing how people loved the chapter and Chris streaming.

Bone Collection was alright. Read both chapters and I don't dislike it. It's very generic in a lot of ways but not entirely in a bad way. It's got charm and it's comedy is decent to good. Could do without the unnecessary fanservice, though.

Whether this can survive as a battle comedy in WSJ? Probably no because I think Mashle does that way better and in a much more unique manner.

Agravity Boys > Mashle.

I want to try and like Mashle, but it appears that only the main character steals the show and the side characters are often seen as underwhelming in comparison. Meanwhile, almost every AG character is funny in their own way for Agravity. At the same time, it seems Mashle's protagonist outshines everyone in humor. Which is a problem as we are supposed to love all the characters in a comedy. At least I can defend Mitama by saying that there is hardly a character who isn't entertaining of the entire cast.

You're allowed to like another series more than Mashle for its comedy. Many seem to like it but there are just as many people who don't like Mashle as well.

Also, humor is one of the most subjective things.
Not everyone liked Saiki or Gintama or Beelzebub. Not everyone likes Deadpool or Jim Carrey or Ricky Gervais.

I also prefer Agravity to Mashle but don't think they warrant much comparison, while they are both comedies they have pretty different styles of humor + Mashle has the action element, I think they both serve their individual niches well enough.

Both Mashle and Agravity Boys are fantastic.
People seem to keep criticizing the very things I find so unique and compelling about these series. They're both trying to do very different things and both excel miraculously at those attempts imo.
Really feels like people don't understand what the series are going for or something.
Bone Collection too but there's only two chapters to go on so not yet willing to die on that hill lol.

Also, what's with people claiming Mash is the only funny or interesting character. Did they forget about Daut?
