2nd chapter was good, it answered all the questions I had regarding ch.1 and gave Teppei massive character points with his guilt and personal regret but determination to see his fault through. Ending was surprising, didn't expected those two to meet so early. Though both are probably supposed to...
Discussion of the manga isn't banned. Discussion of Teppei's plagiarism is (for the time being), since users are getting too upset over the subject, which is leading to an excess of deletions.

This list doesnt really prove anything when you got Agravity boys making the top 50 and KnY being only top 5 which doesn't make sense given its massive popularity. Prob a small sample size with troll votes idk.
If you look at currently in the moment, I think the list makes more sense. Not the most sense, but I understand it better.
Kaguya-sama has an anime currently running, and it's currently the biggest anime of the season, so it's really popular for the time being.
Popularity votes tend to be biased towards things that are currently running, from my experience:
There's a lot of hype around World Trigger, Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man, especially since their volumes just released.
This is also my opinion as to why Kimetsu's only 5th - even though it's the biggest manga in years, it's been over for a solid month.
I don't think Black Clover or Boruto have their anime running, so I don't think a lot of people are taking about it. Same with Super, though I think that one also has a volume out.
These are my guesses, though. The more I think about it, the more holes form. Such as Bleach and Hitman Reborn being on there but not Naruto. I guess Bleach has that final arc anime coming, but...dunno about Reborn.
I don't know if this is the proper place, but as there are some Brazilian people here and I dind't find any translation to english, I have translated Heavy Metal Yankees to portuguese.
I'll now translate it to English, but be warned that, as English is not my native language, it will probably have some mistakes or strange phrases. In a couple days I can share it with you guys so everybody who understands English can read it, too.
The problem is, whether or not you can stand the main character isn't really a small detail. Sure, he can still redeem himself, but this is the kind of thing that can seriously hamper someone's enjoyment of the manga.
Light wasn't an incomprehensible lunatic. All of his thought processes were perfectly logical and easy to understand, even if you didn't agree with them.
And the conflicts in Death Note and TPGW are hardly similar. In DN, Light was facing off against L (a world famous detective) and holding his own. In TPGW, the MC is only facing himself, and failing miserably.
Actually he was an lunatic since the beginning he got the death note. Remember with the TV when he tried to kill L but there was a guy Pretending to be L and without much thinking, light just killed him and was like "hmm? Ok". That sign alone makes u someone with no morals, he was always in for a drive of challenge.. no matter if the person is innocent to achieve his goal as a god

Even if it was the most current it doesn't make much sense. Regardless of what time frame you use it, you can find many holes in it
-Jigokuraku is setting up its end game and also has its recent volume released, with the popularity still going strong so the positioning of that is off
-SxF's ranking is towards the bottom of the top 10 which doesn't make sense for obvious reasons
-15k sellers like Yozakura Family/Agravity boys are above established titles? And in the top 50? Undead being above OP/TPN too.
-Kimetsu is still getting backlog to this day so people are still getting caught up. With its backlog alone it should be #1 but I can somewhat understand if it was top 3 but top 5 is questionable to me
Im sure you get the idea, you can find more holes about it the more you think about it. Plus there could be ways to for the same series multiple times and we don't know if the voting system may have been flawed. I can understand some of the positioning especially for series like JJK/CSM and perhaps WT but a lot of them are off & make no sense.
Don't pay too much attention to it, I mean, you can even submit more than 5+ votes to 1 series. We don't even know the # of voters. Now that is open to everyone, it can change.

I didn't say he had morals, I said his thought processes were logical and easy to understand. His actions were never a mystery, they were exactly what you would expect from someone who sees people as tools.
'Lunatic' makes me think of someone like The Joker, whose motivations are unclear and whose actions can't be explained by logic or common sense. Light was nothing like that; if anything, he was too calculating. If Death Note had been about the Joker, it would've been a wholly different series, because it would've been impossible to follow his train of thought like we did with Light. (I'm not saying either of them are better, they're just very different characters.)
a question I would like to ask is which of the 4 newbies looks the most promising from what we know? I know there isn’t a lot of info but I still would like to know some opinions.

The series with the highest expectations is definitely Yabuki Kentaro's (the first one), since he's had multiple hit manga so has a good track record for success (his first series before Black Cat flopped but that was more than 20 years ago).
Otherwise it's hard to judge the others.
- the second series is by a newbie creator who's only done some oneshots I think (so not much expectations either way)
- the third series is by Tamura Ryuuhei who's had one hit and one flop (Beelzebub and Hungry Marie), but some people are excited because of Beelzebub of course so I'd say this is currently the #2 hyped
- and the fourth is by a creator who's only done some short gag things (so also not much expectations for success or failure)
But WSJ is known for being harsh even to veteran creators, so Yabuki's could also flop. Any of them could be a hit, any could be a failure, that's the fun of WSJ.

Speaking of which, what's everyone's thoughts on the fourth series' preview image? Me and Roboko.
There's been plenty of talk about Tamura and Yabuki returning of course, and a little talk about Magu-chan due to the oneshot being posted, but I don't think I've seen anybody talk about Me and Roboko except for complaining there's too many new gag manga.
The art style seems really odd for current Jump to me, like something you'd see in Corocoro or Saikyou Jump rather than being suited for WSJ. Especially since 70% of WSJ's current readers are 16+. I suppose it could be a deliberately misleading art style like Tomatoypoo but I don't get that impression from the preview or the writer's previous stuff.
I'm actually pretty curious to read it in a few weeks to see what it's actually going to be like, since it's hard to imagine a very kiddy comedy surviving in modern jump without some kind of appeal to teens or adults.
The author also seems to have drawn that same goofy round face in the two mini-series I see listed on his manga updates page. Guy really likes drawing that for some reason.

As for getting in the magazine, I imagine the Neverland connection helped. And their editor will be Sugita as well (was in charge of TPN for its whole run, and also has Time Paradox currently).

Magu-chan will be under Monji (last launch was ne0;lation). Still don't know about the two vets (and Yozakura's is still unknown).
Off topic question but what are the chances that slam dunk will return. I’ve binge read the series and it felt very incomplete and open ended. I think the series could definitely use a sequel.
