Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Haven't read all the chapters yet but the following is a summary of the ones I've read so far:

1. I adore Chako.
2. Hi Kubo.
3. Fuck you, Fujimoto.

So it basically says she 100% agreed to end act age and it was the right thing to do. Also it seems there were vocal people blaming the victims and that it was their fault that the manga was canceled. So she asks to stop bothering them and she thanks to fans for the support of Act age. (?) that's what I could gather.

And another statement from the editorial:
"Usazaki first expressed their sympathies for the victims, who Usazaki said "bravely spoke up about the incident despite their shock and fear." Usazaki elaborated that no one "naturally recovers" from sexual assault, and even seeing a person similar in dress and appearance to the assailant may trigger victims to respond in specific ways, and forever creates unneeded stress in their lives.

Usazaki mentioned that they do not want the act-age manga to be a work that triggers similar reactions from the victims, and so considered the cancellation of the manga to be appropriate. While Usazaki also regretted having to end the manga mid-way, they urged fans of the manga not to harass or blame the victims. They expressed clearly that the manga's cancellation is not the victims' fault, and that it is not a mistake that the victims spoke up about sexual harassment.

Usazaki added that they sympathized with fans of the manga, or those who find purpose in manga in general, as they were once also "saved" by manga. But Usazaki cautioned and pleaded against readers using that love for the wrong purpose of inciting violence, and instead urged fans to think clearly, consider various viewpoints, deny information that has no basis in fact, and always consider what should or should not be said.

Usazaki concluded with their hopes that the victims receive the proper care, and to live peaceful lives without ever having to think about the incident again."

Slightly off-point, but I hope this incident convinces mangaka that such incidents aren't, and never will be, funny, and to stop depicting them as such.

If Oda tries to do another kind of "LOL pervert" gag with Sanji for example, I'd genuinely lose most of my respect for him as an artist.

People are seriously out here blaming the victim? The only one at fault here is the author, if he didn’t do this his series would still be running.

I more so hope this help show mangaka that there are consequences to being a pervert.

Jump editorial dept getting heavily criticized on JP Twitter for their response of just saying "We agree with Usazaki" and RTing. They're basically saying that "The words from Shiro Usazaki should have been the words from the jump editorial department"

Action speak louder than words. They did what they had to - cut the very successful manga. I dont feel like they need to do anything else. Also I highly doubt Usazaki statement wasnt first discussed with her editors.

It definitely feels like he's going to places most WSJ mangaka wouldn't dare. Makes me wonder if he was met with resistance by his editor (though obviously not enough to stop him for going the direction he wants to).
Editors working with fuji: I read ur storyboard like 12 times, wtf is happening bro:emobirb

That's just mangaplus making a mistake. Not the first time it has happened and won't be the last. OP is going to be on break.

Finally read Burn the Witch.
Want to slap the shit out of Kubo face with his dumb names. Try to pronounce those bollocks yourself, Kubo.
The art is kinda nice tho

What kind of perverted gag? Sanji never groped any women. He is just weak to them which is of course the running gag with him getting nosebleeds and stuff when he sees them (now if you find that funny is a different case). But he never disrespected a women in the series, its rather the opposite.

If there is one thing you can see from the whole Act Age fiasco, then that you can never really predict which person can turn out to be a sexual predator. Act Age had no fan service and the female characters were the best written in Jump. And it still turned out that the author groped young girls.
