Tabata himself said he wants Black Clover to go as long as Naruto or One Piece.
Obviously, it is nowhere near popular enough to make it that far, but I don't think WSJ is going to cut off such an ambitious and eager mangaka so quickly when they're already losing 3 of their 5 biggest series in the next two or so years.
I imagine it won't start wrapping up until MHA is already over. Its sales are more stable than they used to be, as well (although still in decline). Hell, even Toriko (which got axed) was given six volumes to wrap up its story. And it doesn't seem like we've hit that point in Black Clover yet. So anything less than 40 volumes would be pretty surprising tbh.
But at the same time, every arc in BC feels like the final arc so it could end in 30 chapters and it wouldn't feel rushed at all.
(Also seems like there's a lot of BC fans on this forum, lol)
But not 50, that is a record achieved by relatively few manga and all with much higher sales than Black Clover. The fighting manga on the Jump normally settle on 30-35 volumes, only a few manage to reach 40 and beyond.

Well rip Candy Flurry, I still hold that the series feels like a mild hit from a niche digital manga site or app. The very gimmicky setting played mostly straight as a regular battle shounen with occasional mild satire is exactly the kind of thing I can picture being a signature thing from one of those places.
Could lasted longer tbh if they're only starting one new manga. At least let it hit ch 20 instead of the sad number that is 19, not quite in the u19 club but not really out of it either.
As for our new series, honestly I'm enjoying Neru a lot more than Red Hood currently, it's still lacking any real direction but does at least have cool action each week and the new girl is cute.
While this week's Red Hood on the other hand was mostly just explaining a plan that really didn't need explained amidst an exam arc that already feels rather random and unnecessary, as if it's there solely for the sake of having an exam and some action rather than making any sense for the story.
Another issue with too many mediocre chapters overall, but one of the bottom dwellers is gone and I'm curious to see what PPPPPP is like so I'm excited for an early issue.
Great: 1. (+1) Blue Box - I welcome whenever we get a sports-centric chapter; even if we don't see too much of the gameplay it always provides insight into the characters in a rewarding way. This time Chinatsu got the focus I've been waiting for and I'm thrilled, her moment on the stairs was almost chilling in her delivery, love that straight-talking side of her. And even Taiki is showing progress. Lovely. 2. ( = ) One Piece - Not quite the mega highs of recent weeks, but it's great that Oda managed to deliver seven issues in a row (even if there were double issues in there to pad it out). Now that I'm on Dressrosa in my re-read I've found new appreciation for Momonosuke's character that I never had before so seeing his current state is very rewarding to read. While not the most impactful chapter, it did a good job of checking in with several fights while also taking us to the next stage of the conflict. 3. (+1) Sakamoto Days - What a great continuation of the set-up of this arc. Each of the new villains prove their worth and we've got a plenty of old and new faces entering the fray in what is sure to make for a very entertaining showdown. 4. (+5) Jujutsu Kaisen - And now we're getting back to the culling game, nice. I have no idea what could happen next with these seemingly ever changing rules but I'm fully onboard with the chaos I'm sure is to follow. 5. ( = ) High School Family: Kokosei Kazoku - What an adorable chapter, such a highlight for the series. And great timing with it getting the double colour spread. I think the mother's birthday surprise was my favourite.
Good: 6. (-2) The Hunters Guild: Red Hood - The writing is on the wall when it comes to the TOC but this was still a really good chapter of this exam arc. I like that it's continuing the story as if there isn't a chance of it ending just yet; this feels like how the story would play out if it was a success which isn't the vibe I'm getting from Neru. 7. (-6) Me & Roboco - Other than that first gag this was a pretty sweet chapter. The Shogi stuff landed for me, but my favourite gag was Roboco's mentioning of her idol days for a little bit of extra panel time. 8. (+1) The Elusive Samurai - A nice way to wrap-up this conflict. Nothing that noteworthy but I'm glad to say I'm enjoying most/all of what the series has been giving lately after a rough-ish start. 9. (+3) Undead Unluck - I would have really enjoyed this chapter more if I liked the character it was focusing on; usually when UU has these chapters focused on a certain individual and we get a glimpse of their past and reasoning for why they are the way they are I am hooked, but this was just 'good'. I wouldn't consider it the best use of a cover/lead colour page chapter.
Fine: 10. (+1) Mashle - A little bit of action, little bit of exposition, and a little bit of a glimpse of the new villain. Not particularly interested in much of it but it's all pretty serviceable stuff. 11. (-6) Neru: Way of the Martial Artist - Still don't like the new girl or her brother (especially him). This was a slight improvement on last week but after the exam wrapped up so suddenly I've not really enjoyed the direction of the series so if this does end soon I won't be too distraught. Just a shame because I well and truly loved how it was in the beginning. 12. (-1) Black Clover - A perfectly decent Black Clover chapter about two characters that I care very little about. Some of those popularity poll results are... interesting. 13. ( = ) Mission: Yozakura Family - Too bad the chapter title spoiled how the chapter itself would wrap up. I'm glad we've got to the end of this now, even if the last few chapters haven't been all that good imo. 14. ( = ) WITCH WATCH - Just like last week there were some really good parts to this chapter - the whole first half was really solid and a nice wrap-up of the battle. But jumping to a magical potion that fixes a disability is both pretty poor emotional payoff considering the highs Kenta Shinohara achieved in Sket Dance with these sorts of arcs, but it also has icky implications that resonate pretty negatively with me so that turned me off for the rest of the chapter. And now this new kid's mother is suddenly run off (probably quite literally) to join every other parent in anime/manga in some vague overseas job to write her out of the story... jeez, doing this when you just introduced her and made a point of her existence mere pages before it feels extra on the nose. Anyway, we're likely back to silly antics next week. 15. (+1) Dr. Stone - A catch up on mathematics to the point of understanding how to make a spaceship? As is the magical science of Dr. Stone. 16. (+2) Magu-chan: God of Destruction - A cute chapter, made me chuckle a couple times. I'm glad it focused mainly on the characters I prefer in the series.
Bad: 17. (+1) Ayakashi Triangle - I want to be enjoy the action more but I'm afraid this current fight isn't doing anything for me. 18. (-1) Candy Flurry (END) - And so it ends with a sudden mecha fight and not much more sudden resolution. Not one of the more offensively bad flops we've seen lately, if anything it'll be forgotten in a couple months which is another level of unfortunate. I'm not sure if the artist is cut out to the standard of the magazine sadly.
As for the predictions on how long series will last I think (naturally) a lot of bias is at play, with a lot of hopes rather than expectations and imagining a magazine where the majority of the current running series don't get cut short which is unlikely to happen over the next few years - some are going to be cut eventually. Instead of predicting exact volumes I'd guess by year the series would end by:
Ends 2021:
Candy Flurry (Pretend I wrote this last week)
The Hunters Guild: Red Hood (if there's another serialisation round this year)
Neru: Way of the Martial Artist (if there's another serialisation round this year)
Ends in 2022:
The Hunters Guild: Red Hood (if there's not another serialisation round this year)
Neru: Way of the Martial Artist (if there's not another serialisation round this year)
High School Family: Kokosei Kazoku (as much as I will miss it, I find it very hard to believe this won't be an inevitable cut once a few more hits arise in the next year)
Magu-chan: God of Destruction (I'm sorry to all it's fans, but if this reaches 100 chapters then it'll be a miracle; if they were making tougher cuts and had more new serialisations this year I reckon it might already be gone by now but it feels like it extending the innevtibable)
Undead Unluck (It won't be cancelled like some have said in the past, but I think it'll reach its natural conclusion by next year and be better off for it)
Dr. Stone (Now that we're focusing on the moon I can't see the series lasting too much longer)
Ends in 2023:
Mashle (I believe - and hope - we are halfway done)
WITCH WATCH (Maybe an unpopular call but I can see this ending before it reached 100 chapters - though Kenta has come back from worse odds with Sket Dance so who knows)
Ayakashi Triangle (I can't see the horny ninja adventures lasting that much longer than 100 or so chapters, just depends if they find another ecchi series with more growth to take its place)
Me & Roboco (I honestly think this will last as long as it is allowed to, but if I'm going to be fair and assume the scenario where its slight growth in sales stops and it never gets an adaptation then it would probably end around here - hopefully it gets an anime down the line and has a boost but it's not going to be a massive hit or anything, probably the gag manga of the current generation that last the longer at least)
Jujutsu Kaisen (I did think this would last longer but now I feel like Culling Game might be the beginning of the end)
My Hero Academia (Although it's in its final saga now I don't think it's end is quite around the corner)
Ends in 2024:
Mission: Yozakura Family (Since it didn't end where I thought it would this year I can see it easily extending its story over the next few years and staying in the middle of the magazine for most of its run)
Blue Box (I can see it going on quite long for a WSJ romance but don't think it'll be especially long; I'm sure it's inevitable anime will air with the manga is still publishing)
Ends in 2025:
The Elusive Samurai (This is still a pretty conservative guess - it should last around as long as Assassination Classroom at the very least, but knowing the time span it'll be covering it feels like we've barely scratched the surface of the main character's life)
Ends in 2026:
Black Clover (Who knows really, it could do a Fairy Tail and never end while also continuing to decrease in quality the longer it goes)
Sakamoto Days (I can see this being long-lasting in the magazine, perhaps even longer if it finds even more success down the line, Gintama-style; I don't think it's any real danger for the foreseeable future anyway)
Ends in 2027:
One Piece (I think there's probably about 5 years worth of content left, but with breaks and probably more chapters needed for the final arc than Oda's accounted for this feels like a safe bet.
I'm a big BC fan as well, but I wouldn't be surprised if Tabata goes against his previous comments about making it super long. (due to fatigue, wanting to spend more time with family, etc)
My current expectation would be more one more big multi-arc 'saga' after this one. It'd certainly be a nice achievement if it makes it to the 10 year mark though
JoJo was never a giant hit and lasted 80 volumes in the magazine, and that was in a much more competititve time. As long as Black Clover holds still on its sales and rankings, it absolutely can be that long, even as a midtier hit.
Some people are convinced that the manga is doomed for so long and nothing will make them change their minds. If you go back to older threads, you will see the same narrative that it may last a year or two, but as soon as Jump gets a few more hits, it's over. That since 2017 at least, and look where we are now.
I am not saying it will, necessarily, reach the 10-year mark or go beyond that, but Jump will definitively not pull the plug on it because it would be "unjust" for it to last so long when other Jump Manga (that existed on a completely different environment) lasted less than that.
It's also completely absurd to treat a manga that will absolutely outlive Dragon Quest and will most probably outlive Reborn, Toriko and many more as some kind of cancellation fodder, with an axe always hanging over it.
Wanted to open days ago but unfortunately no one leaked High School Family color page, so opening now with all series released, vote for your favorite color page, feel free to comment if you want!
This is just how people have always been with Black Clover, even before it got an anime the series has constantly had people insisting it's a flop and acting as if it's on the edge of cancellation.
It's lasted 6 years and is still going fine being in the top 5 most weeks, it can last 10+. Especially with MHA and Jujutsu confirmed to be in their final arcs, Dr Stone probably not far from its last arc too, and their biggest new action hit, Mashle, potentially ending before even those three do. All it really depends on is how long Tabata wants it to last, and considering he's mentioned hoping it can be as long as Naruto I doubt he'll be running low on story ideas any time soon.
Black Clover will already reach 30 volumes next month, which means more 40ish chapters to reach 35 volumes, Tabata never said any word about the series ending or even being halfway, it has good rankings, sales and reception, more important, a movie being made that we don't even know anything yet, which means will not be released at least before Spring 2022, we also don't know future plans for the TV anime that was very lucrative to Pierrot/Tv Tokyo, so there's no way Shonen Jump would do anything with BC for at least the entire 2022, it will only end in 35ish volumes if Tabata don't want to continue, which is very hard to imagine since he loves Black Clover.

Courtesy of a certain member that used to diminish BC popularity every time it achieved something, it became quite silent after the movie was announced since BC was supposed to have the anime finished, never return, manga sales drop and end soon
It's more like the ones who used to bash the series left the thread, and also tighter moderation, during at least the first 2 years of Black Clover the thread was unbearable if you didn't agreed that "BC sucks. a ripoff and don't deserve the sales", one of the reasons why i left the forum for a while, but it got a lot better with time.
Considering this board's track record on predicting quality based on the preview image and oneshots, the rather negative response here means PPPPPP has a good chance of being a hit.
One thing though is any new series has a lot to compete with right now, none of the current series are going to be ending naturally until 2023 I'd guess. Granted some of the lineup aren't big hits themselves, but everything except the two newbies has had a recent colour page so WSJ is supporting all of them at least right now. A new series hoping for success may have to push another more established manga out.
Well, that or we enter another period where we go down to just 2-3 open spots at a time and stuff starts getting axed by ch 11 again.
Today has been very tiring so my comments will be shorter than usual. Maybe you will like them more.
1. Mission: Yozakura Family: I like Kyoichiro more than your average fan and this was a great chapter for him, although Taiyo was at the center. 2. Sakamoto Days: I can't say who is gonna win the fight, but the setup was very hyping, and being able to create such hype at chapter 38 is great storytelling. 3. The Elusive Samurai: The arc closes and it is a tactical victory hidden in a nominal defeat. The aspect of strategy here is good (other series struggle more with this aspect) 4. Highschool Family: It was a very brilliant way to celebrate the anniversary, starting from the color page and the gag before that. I hope it lives at least another year just for the Ieitani Birthday Week. 5. One Piece: We are suddenly ready to the main fight again when I thought the setup would last weeks. It's a great chapter just for that. 6. Magu-chan: God of Destruction: A Naputaaku chapter is always good, even when episodic. 7. Me & Roboco: Funny chapter. Roboco (the character) hasn't been so fun in a while. 8. Undead Unluck: Good, but not something to remember by. It is strange that this series got a cover in the midst of such an irrelevant battle. 9. Blue Box: I don't remember much (never a good thing). I liked Chinatsu in calm sadist mode and I'm hyped for her basketball match, even if the series wants us to be more hyped for Taiki's progress. 10. Jujutsu Kaisen: These chapters with rules and explanations are always difficult to get completely, but now they have to track down some people, and for now it is enough. 11. Mashle: I'm with Mash, too much exposition is overwhelming. New enemies are introduced, but they will end up like all the others so who cares. 12. Black Clover: Not a bad chapter per se, but kind of forgettable. There's room for improvement during this fight. 13. Witch Watch: This arc was resolved too quickly. Now they're all friends again? And he even joins the main party so casually? The arc was good, but lacked in its conclusion. 14. The Hunters Guild: Red Hood: I appreciate the effort, but the explanation of the plan got me confused. Maybe that's just because I am so tired. 15. Ayakashi Triangle: I enjoy it a little more, but next week the stage has been set for a very probable return to ecchi antics. 16. Candy Flurry: Strange ending but ok I guess. I like how they tried to give the series a real conclusion without making it feel too sudden. 17. Dr. Stone: The golden rule of this manga is that nobody dies for real. They found a roundabout way to apply it even in this case, good luck to them for all that math. 18. Neru: Way of the Martial Artist: Like last week, many cliches about sexism as if it was a '90s manga result in a series that is not aging well in 2021. Anyway, I had flashbacks about the Turtle Hermit training methods (namely the rock in the woods trial) while reading this.
