Moving Black Clover to Giga did wonders for Tabata:

In less than a year he went from sounding miserable to sound like he is living the best life :grin

It sucks for have to wait 4 months but at least he is happy and his art returned to its prime, this might actually have saved his career as mangaka instead of leading to a complete burnout and rushed BC ending.

Holy shit. Bunnygirls. Thanks, Tabata.

I really don't understand these comments about Nue that I see, because I noticed that for some reason there are several posts about Nue and ecchi together. What is the reason for this? Everyone already knows that the series is not ecchi. The series is a battle shonen. Nue goes weeks without any ecchi, in fact I think maybe you can count on your hands all the chapters in the series that have ecchi scenes, and when they happen it's a single scene in the chapter. A normal chapter of One Piece has much, much, much more ecchi than Nue and I don't see people calling the series ecchi. Does anyone know the reason for this?
Why is my comment quoted in Spanish (Is that Spanish? I'm bad with languages). If it was machine translated, I hope nothing from my original comment got mistranslated. And assuming the translation is 100% correct...

Of course you don't understand my comment, you've conflated it with a whole other comment. First of all, please quote me on where I've said that Nue is an ecchi. Don't put words into my mouth to base your points.

What I'm saying is, it could be and should be, but hasn't cashed in on it yet. It's tame, and continues to be tame. That's why, after dropping in performance after a full on battle shonen arc, and competing against other series that maximizes aspects that it has but doesn't use to its fullest, it really ought to double down on the one aspect it has that those other series do not have.

If you want to tell me I'm wrong for saying that, then I'll remind you that Nue trended recently in Japan after a bit of a lull. Was it for Gakuro's new form? Nue's appearance? The captain's Kamen Rider form (looks slick btw)? Gakuro and Shitotsu's family drama? The main baddie's appearance? No.

It was for Suou-senpai's accidental boob grope.

The fans are very clearly in it for a certain something, why dangle it over their heads?

Heck, technically Nue isn't even a harem yet. There's only two established love interests: Suou and Shirogane. Shitotsu and Gakuro's relationship has been platonic so far while Nue hasn't shown any romantic interest in him (trying to ship him together with the other girls). It could easily change in the future but so far it's a love triangle, not a harem.
All I can say is that this is semantics, and I don't want to argue too much. Suou, Shirogane, Shitotsu... Why do all their names start with S? No, sorry, I got distracted. All of them are archetypes baked from harem tropes, and you've got to be more than aware of it. What does it matter if it's two girls or twenty girls? These are tropes that belong to harem manga. Everyone, west and east, jokes that Nue is a VN or an LN, which usually involve a harem. One of the earliest gags was that the boys got mad at Gakuro for having a non-blood-related sister... This joke does not work unless you're familiar with harem tropes.

Why inch away from the moniker? That's what I don't understand. Is there any fault in being shameless?

Sakamoto Days promo campaigns are finally paying off. Definitely seen more JPN folks mentioning it more on Twitter now than last year

I kneel before Sakamoto Days.

Old katanaman showed up again and it's back to being the most balls out action manga out there. Not that it wasn't, it's just that old katanaman takes it to a new level by simply existing.

There were some talks about a recommendation on the obi for volume 2. I wonder who it could be. Probably another Jump vet. Kishimoto would be too good to be true because Hokazono's a Naruto fanboy.

Putting my bets on Fujimoto and that his curse activates and proceeds to axe KGB.

How much do mangaka earn from royalties per book sold?

Assuming gege get 50yen per book, that means last year he earned USD 2.735.000 ? (Not considering tax and business expenses etc)

USD 230,000 a month is probably what a very competent software engineer in silicon valley earned. And very very few mangaka reach that level.

How much do mangaka earn from royalties per book sold?
According to Sorachi:

Q:
I have a question. A while ago, my mother heard that the Gintama animation film was a big hit, and commented that “(Hideaki Sorachi) must be living at [luxury highrise] Roppongi Hills since it’s so popular”. Is that true?

A:
To tell the naked truth, regardless of how many people watch the film or how much the gross earnings are, not a single yen goes to the author. We are only paid an upfront license fee. The amount we’re paid is peanuts in comparison to the overall box office gross. The majority of the profits go to filthy unscrupulous companies such as Shueisha and Sunrise. Releasing individual manga volumes is way more profitable.

In particular, a typical mangaka can earn royalties of around 10-15% of the revenue generated from each volume sold of their work. However, the actual amount can vary widely depending on the individual's level of experience, popularity, and negotiating power with their publisher. Additionally, some artists may receive additional income from merchandise, anime adaptations, and other related ventures.

Oda earned ¥1.3 billion in book royalties in 2009. That's over US$15 million. For the remaining 5,200 titles, the average royalty payment was just ¥2.8 million, about $35,000. And these are mangaka successful enough to actually have their work compiled into volumes.

Given that the average salaryman's income is just over ¥4 million a year, it's obvious that it's tough to make a decent living as a, average manga artist.

Virtually every manga serialized through a publisher in Japan is compiled into volumes, doesn't matter how unpopular the series turns out to be.

About Fujimaki comment, he's talking Oishi Kouji, author of Lycopene (and Inumarudashi), that just got married to Yamaguchi Melon, a musician and idol (aiming high huh?!), it was a eventful marriage:

It seems to be a reference to a Pokemon card:
