Psyren getting extra pages is sweet on the other hand it's 'down there' again the issue before, so meh -.-
Beelze seems to be a hit so far, though with Toriko fading imo, I get the impression that the japanese readers are hungry for new stuff, willing to support it some time, but then drop it for something new?

I get the feeling that Shueisha was actively promoting Toriko and have switched to Beelzebub and Kuroko. Besides Jumpbang! I'm not sure how much TV, print, radio, billboard, etc. type of advertising is done for Jump Comics; but if there is any Beelze and Kuroko are getting thrust into the spotlight.

I don't think the magazine is too congested right now. I'm rather satisfied with Jump's line up atm.

To Love Ru ending would probably just have it replaced by another comedy romance. Assuming Medaka Box isn't what would help to fit that role beforehand.

Shueisha promoting new series more is a good thing in comparison to just sticking to their top guns like before.

Medaka does get a CP for chapter 2 in 2009-25 :)
Lead CP for 2009-25 is, of course, Akaboshi, for being chapter 1 :P

Extra pages is for chapter 3, in 2009-26
Ha thanks. I must have been mixing the two up. XD

I really don't think Mago and Psyren are going anywhere. Mago outsells To-love, which preforms worse than it. They aren't going to make the same mistake they did with Double Arts.

Bakuman is the only new series that sells as well as ToRa and Eyeshield. Mago and Toriko are still a little behind them.

Wow talk about an awful bottom 5.

Eyeshield's about the only one I would've placed there.

Blust! has been translated. It seems Murata is quite proficient at writing action. If serialized it could be a very good series.

At this moment the bottom doesn't interest me. Recent cuts, new series have come and there's a cushion and a serie near its end. There's definitely another 8 issues without a cut. So let's wait till our new ones get rated :)

Nothing really to say this week aside from a To-Love anniversary cover. (now next up is Toriko...and that really should be within the next couple weeks) Not a good sign with both Mago and Psyren down there...

Hoop being low brought a smile to my face.

Other then that the bottom was pretty bad.

Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.2

Toriko, however, as a top tier series has gotten a bunch of covers and opening colors in its own right. So that's probably just what'll happen at the anniversary issue. This week is chapter 48 so the issue after next will probably be that.

The thing is, as last week, there's nothing left to BE low. Unless something like Kochikame, Gintama, Reborn, Inumaru Dash, or Bakuman dropped into the bottom 5, there's no avoiding Psyren and Sket Dance and Mago being there, they're just on the tier below those, third tier. This, considering ToLoveRu and Kuroko have color pages.

Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.2

I don't think Psyren's going to last any longer tho', 200 chapters is the maximum I would give it. And Toriko, well, I'm wondering who had the Death Omen, I don't think it's the girl, the guy or the Robot, so it has to be Toriko, so the end of the manga.

WSJ doesn't care enough for Toriko either anymore, at least, that's the impression they are giving me. But then again, they're paying more attention to Beelzebub (which is good in a certain way), but I don't see this series in a long-run, Kuroko is a different story, this can have a long-run, just like Bakuman.

I'm looking forward to see Blust! getting serialized, I loved the one-shot and it has a great potential for a serialization.

In contrast to previous sources, our great dofla confirms a colour page for psyren instead of extra pages

#26 (25/05) :
Belzeebub (Couv & Pc)
Akaboshi, Kuroko no Basket, Psy (Pc)
Medaka (23p)

.... whut?

Toriko is still selling well and performing well in the TOC and you're saying they don't care enough?

Yeah that makes sense

Erm, unless Dofla's got a different source than Ko-neta, it's what was written. Medaka Box and Psyren both have extra pages.

EDIT: Check raw-paradise yourself, Koe... Heiji-sama pretty much had the same translation of the spoilers. Psyren is not going to get a CP for 2009-26.

A SJ manga is rarely going to kill the main character so early on without reviving them. Especially if they also are the title character. Toriko dying permanently has almost no chance of happening so I'm surprised you even considered it.

Also WSJ still cares about Toriko. If it didn't, Toriko would be down there with Hoop and wouldn't be selling as much. Other series getting support=/=caring about another series anymore.

Although I'm honestly wondering how Kuroko will continue to perform later. It has only really had one moment so far that was deserving of high rank imo. The rest of it is fairly blase after looking through again.

If anyone actually read the chapter, you'd see it was Rin that the death omen was for...
And Toriko is the third/fourth highest ranked series so no, I don't think they're abandoning it.
