Gantz parody? Woah, the most nihilistic manga gets a little fun side to it eh? It would have been great for the characters not to be so realistic and actually drawn in that form of burlesque, though it will lose of it's core aesthetic value, I think ... since that is the best way to represent the situations there. Raw naturalistic reality, with a dash of alien fantasy.

Young Jump has the most famous line up of seinen series, nice to see we are getting some sort of ToC for it. Even if we are unsure how it works out compared to WSJ.

Hate to break it to you dude but that's not a ranking, it's just a TOC. This is not Shounen Jump, nor does it bear resemblance to Shounen Jump. The only established, popular manga in the top five is Tough. Most of the popular series are not even in the top ten, or even the front half of the magazine. There is no way that Terra Formers, newly moved from Miracle Jump, is the number one series ahead of Tough, Usugui, 81 Diver, Zetman, Rozen Maiden, Contach, and Real. Sorry, just a TOC, not a ranking, there is no way these series are ranked by popularity.

Jump does it but plenty of magazines like to spread them around to give attention to lesser known series in other parts of the magazine. And of course it's just what's in the magazine and what page it's on, that's what a table of contents is for

In what is it weird ? All magazines have a Table of Content. Why should their be another purpose than indicating a page number ?

Generally magazine publishers would want to ensure that the majority of the magazine is read (and advertisements seen), not to put the most popular title first. Generally magazines put the cover story, the most important article is in the middle. Manga magazines are a little different considering they are loss leaders whose only purpose is to promote tankobon sales.

From what I understand all, or almost all, manga magazines include fan surveys with each issue. Unlike Shounen Jump, not all magazines order their TOC to reflect fan rankings. Nor do all magazines put a lot of stock in the results of the survey. Morning is a good example of a magazine where editorial taste always trumps fan taste. If a series does not rank high, but the editors like it, the series generally will not be canceled. Can't say Young Jump is similar to Morning, but it certainly does not put as much stock in fan surveys as Shounen Jump, most magazines do not.

No spark for a debate without rankings, rankings always follow a debate, it is a double edged sword, doing rankings and not doing them, it could benefit the magazine in some way, yet it may not change anything. I am reminded of a debate in which "professionals" are more capable of deciding what is good and so forth than an audience. The debate usually never ends.

I imagine the three new series (Arumi-chan, W x Y, and Nipongo) have been the supposed replacements for Delivery Cinderella and Ohanyu. Not to mention Beshari Gurashi recently came back from its break.

The official reason for the hiatus is "collecting and sorting out data for the plot".

And I was quite surprised too, didn't expect he would go on another long hiatus so soon :/

I mentioned it before, but Kaitani's said on his twitter that he's been doing manuscripts and names for Liar Game, but it's up to the editors to start running it in the magazine again. SHOULD be soon though.

it was unsuspected, because it happened in the middle of a game, like he didn't know how to end it. he may needed more time to integrate and prepare for more games after that one or made a mistake somehow and tries now to solve it? who knows.

regarding the twitter statement: he said something similiar before his other hiatus and it took him another year till it run again.
