Interesting to see the change, but Madhouse themselves had very little to do with S1 anyway, so as long as there are returning staff it shouldnt be an issue.http://onepunchman-anime.net/staff/#/season2
J.C Staff is producing the 2nd season of OPM.
New director is Chikara Sakurai (Majimoji Rurumo, animation director on Naruto movies)
Sound director is Yoshikazu Iwanami (Ajin, Baccano!, Berserk 2016, Erased, Deadman Wonderland, Dive!, Fate/UBW + Zero, Flying Witch, Girls und Panzer, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Kara no Kyoukai, Kill la Kill, Psycho-Pass, WIXOSS, Knights of Sidonia, Sword Art Online, Youjo Senki, etc) - Basically quite the top-tier guy, exception being Berserk.
All staff is the same from last season besides that.
I feel like Uratarou wasn't something he would write, like he force himself to write it even though he has a gore fetish, I think something went wrong or there was a dispute of some kind because it was pushed and sold more than NK but ended abruptly. The Japanese on twitter mention something about censorship and how shueisha wanted the series to be a complete tragedy instead a manga about hope.Of course there will be a Tokyo Ghoul sequel.
I am way more interested in what happens to Nakayama Atsushi now. Was Uratarou too ambitious of a project for both the creator and the editors? It recieved heavy promotion which didn't pay off much. It set up an elaborate narrative which didn't properly develop. But it ws never boring. It's frantic, over-excited pacing, having the story bounce off from plotpoint to plotpoint was quite the spectacle to experience. However, at the same time it was probably it's main fault since no character or event stuck long enough to charm the audience.
Anyway, this serialization was quite the experiment, and the art has shown Nakayama grow as an artist even beyond the impact and detail of Nejimaki Kagyuu. Hopefully, in time he recovers and returns with another work.
