I reread Route 20, a short manga by famed animator Sadamoto Yoshiyuki, one of the founders of Gainax. Sadamoto is most famous as animation director and character designer for Neon Genesis Evangelion, as well as drawing the manga adaption. He also designed the characters for Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki, Summer Wars, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, FLCL, Diebuster, and many more. Route 20 is a great manga. Short, but definitely worth reading.

I finished Scientia on last night (but had no time to write about it), but probably one of the few Seinen aimed manga that didnt turn out entirely bad or boring. Perhaps the short focus of sorts and slightly interconnected stories made it feel unique and different from much of the tone of other series in the demographic. In any event I enjoyed spending the few hours to get through it. Alot of it was quite thought provoking imagining if I myself were in those situations if I would take up those offers. The musician one in Accelerator was most compelling in regards to that as it seemed to have one who was trying to things without any help and another who wanted all the help he could get just to succeed. In the end I think both routes were alright but kind of sad at the same time. I imagine it depends on what is fulfilling to each person themself, Id probably took the fame route, maybe.

Only thing I didn't like was the art, the characters always seemed to look the same, especially the female characters. Robot nurse didnt seem to be that different then the look of the one from the earlier story than the look of the mom in the daughter story and so on. They all always had that round face of sorts even the minor characters, it was really an issue when the builder story came up and he mentioned the female character we saw in a previous story who ended up getting a fulfilled life later.

I wouldn't mind reading their other works though.

Hum you must be quite picky if all the seinen you read bores you. I'm not sure the demographic is really the reason. They are quite equally distributed in my case.

Their usually just way too dark/trying to be edgy and grim, and what not and too mature/graphic (Tail Star, Zetman, etc).

I'm currently Samidare (yeah I know I should have read it long time ago). But we are going to start a collective reading soon. So if you are interested in reading it or rereading it. Now is the perfect time.

Now that the Edited Mangas are picking up again, I'm rereading Mouryou no Hako to refresh my memory. Hopefully there won't be another big stall in between chapters. *crosses fingers*

I just finished reading Gakuen Heaven Revolution. Ill miss my time with Keita, Kazuki, and everyone else at BL Academy through these past one year with the manga and definitely thought it was a great school life type series with sweet drama and nice friendship going on, loved the little BL teasing at moments.

Aside from my usual weekly readings:

Sengoku Youko: I've recently caught up with this and this is by far one of the best series I've gotten into recently, but it's Satoshi Mizukami, the guy is just good at story telling. I can't wait til more chapters are updated of this and spirit circle.

Negima: The first couple of chapters are utterly boring, so much so it took me a while to get the motivation to get to chapter 12, but once I hit library Island I've been able to hit a streak where I can read multiple chapters and actually be invested for SOMETHING. What's driving me so-far is just to see this series change from being a relatively unfunny and off-putting harem series with a shota lead into a shonen action series. Despite how much disdain I put in typing this, once Eva was introduced I've actually managed to have some fun with the series and I'm not having too many problems with the intro to the Kyoto arc. Hopefully the I feel the pickup that I hear this series is supposed to have.

Tonari no Seki-kun: I should get tired of this series. I really should, it's the same joke each chapter just slightly different. but you know, I don't really mind, I guess it's because I just read one chapter when ever it updates, get my laugh and move on. It's kind of like Tom and Jerry in that regard, just minis all the violence (which when I think about it is terrible you can't have T@J without Violence). It's simple fun and I'm fine with that.

I've also decided to go and read the thriller bark arc of one piece (yes for the first time I didn't catch up to One Piece traditionally unfortunately) and I'm on chapter 448 and from clips and pieces of what I've seen of the three most least liked parts of the series (SIDE NOTE: I didn't think Skypiea was that bad, and Fishman Island sucked because of their antagonists and kind of annoying characters the SH's were supposed to helped) I've been more or less puzzled why this arc was so hated because honestly this has so many iconic moments that still made me laugh despite seeing the individual jokes already. Still I'm only 1/6th's into this thing and I do plan to keep reading...

and speaking of keep reading... I have to remember to continue on with Berserk again, because I told myself I'd at least go a few chapters after the golden age saga to see if there was any reason for me to personally keep reading this series (I respect the series for it's writing and maturity but respect and like aren't the same thing).

Continuing the BL grind (pfft), just finished Dounimo Nannai Soushi Souai Essentially a perfect best friends in love comedy story. The opening with their time in elementary school and the name calling to teasing, and then the height scenes moved the plot and developments fast. Additionally the one going back to when they were younger too with the bear and glomp was worth remembering. All in all a really short fast memorable story for the theme with good character designs. Mother story felt like a silly part of it though so odd inclusion but at least it led to the up close and personal closet hiding scene to kickstart things. Ill always remember Genji and Kousaka (though everyone didnt need to always tease him).

Finished ST&RS on today, wihich was one of the best manga in JUMP that had an untimely end. I wish it had been longer as space is such an unexplored frontier in manga media these days with little offering so to have something non battle oriented and fueled by the sake of discovery in the magazine was a relief. It was a fun and wild ride with Maho and Wataru and the fun stuff with stars kept it intense. 4/5.

I have started the new webcomic The Gamer.
The story is about a highscholer who one day waake up with the ability of a video game character. It was a long time since I didn't start a good webtoon. This one has everything to become a hit among fan of the genre.

I've started reading light novels recently. I caught up on No Game No Life earlier today, and just started Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei. No Game No Life was solid, Mahouka is excellent so far. Both have upcoming animes. Mahouka is already very popular in Japan, the second best selling light novel (behind Sword Art Online) of 2013.

Otoyomegatari is such a master piece. I simply can't get enough of it. Being about the customs around the marriage of some tribes on the middle Asia from C XIX, it's just a superb graceful mixture of wild action, romance, passion and vivid descriptions of the ways of life of this people. For these tribes, Marriage is a key of their economy. So it'¡s also about war and how to survive in that time, and how to loyal to your love in the middle of the struggle to survive. Absolutely fantastic manga; not to talk about its art which is one of the best I have ever seen:

Tried the first chapter of Kentaro Miura's new mini series, Gigantomakhia. Seems promising enough.

Decided to tackle my print volumes of manga so I went for Tiger & Bunny v2 (chps 5 - 9) , which is just a straight up and direct adaptation of the anime (without the awesome ost). In any event still entertaining and pleasing to me here. I think Rock Bison manga art > anime art and Bunny has nice smiles and impressions at times. Their teamwork with the bomb scene and then the diamond one was the best. Viz did put a colour page in it too so that was nice.

I just started reading No.5 by Taiyo Matsumoto. It's pretty good so far, and as expected, I love his distinctive art style.

I also started reading Jyoshikausei. Cute, funny, pleasant art, and super easy to read with pretty much no text.
