Re: the WoW thread

re: US and EU realms- There is no such thing as a person who isn't even slightly immature when it comes to MMO's, there are just levels of immaturity. MMO's will always have:

-Kids
-Young adults who don't want to admit that they're getting old
-Teens
-Old people who don't want to admit that they're getting old
-Creepy MMO-stalkers
-In game currency spammers/power-leveling spammers
-Kids that pretend to be adults
-Bums of all ages
-Spoild bums of all ages

So yeah... THERE IS NO ESCAPE! :rofl

Re: the WoW thread

Oh, yeah I know but I mean the major impression my friends got was that it was more immature on the US srv. And it kinda made me not try it out because it was bad enough as it was on the EU ones.

12yr old brittish brats or "Legollasdk" a 13yr old danish hunter who rolls need on staffs for the intellect.... Memories

Re: the WoW thread

Dude, it's a HUNTER! Them bastards want EVERY weapon (that they can equip) in the game! :rofl

True, I've played on both US and Oceanic servers, and the immaturity level is quite high. Though it's not totally bad; makes telling the noobs from the pros apart easier. :D

Re: the WoW thread

ohh i thought it was partly of RTS ... i am more RTS game than MMROG ...
But it is costly montly 20 buck ... upside .. it is huge base game ..

i dont rember wow is part RTS ?? i seen Wow novel, comic ,game, clothes .. i dont notice any RTS wow ??
You may be thinking of Warcraft, Wacraft II, and Warcraft III. those are all RTS games.

About the immaturity: Yea, I've found out EVERY MMO has immature noobs. The exception for me is EVE: Online. I've ran into ONE immature whiny brat the whole time playing the game. This is due to it's insane learning curve.

MMO learning curve:

Re: the WoW thread

Aye, that curve is funny yet true. EVE is an extremely difficult game to make high achievements in compared to games like WoW and even compared to the newly released "Aion" which is in Beta mode.
But there are immature people and noobs in all games, wc3, bfme, cs, every game has them. But I was just meaning that my friends said that there were more young players in the US than in the EU. Also that in the eu servers, immature / noobs doesn't have a chance to do anything apart from being mocked after lvl 50 so they have to try and fix attitude / gameplay, but it's not the same case in the US.

My one friend is trying out EVE atm. I'm unsure whether to try it or not.

Re: the WoW thread

lol okay, I wanna play on an us srv but all my friends said they think it's more immature than the EU ones >,>
I started and tried WoW last month and I have to say, people were incredibly nice on my realm... sure, there were loudmouths in the cities especially Stormwind and Ogrimmar... and the raids can be kind of annoying... but otherwise... it was pretty surprising. I had a very cool time. On both Guild Wars (which I played for a year) and Final Fantasy XI (only very briefly) people weren't nearly as courteous.

The only thing I really found amusing and kind of out of the norm was that some people really did take roleplaying seriously in WoW, moreso than either GW or FF XI. It didn't bother me too much, though, since it made playing the game feel more real.

It was a 28-day free period and I stopped because I wanted to keep myself from getting too addicted. So had a short break. I may start subscribing this month though.

Re: the WoW thread

I suggest giving Eve a shot. It's really fun and the grind is...not what I truly consider a grind. So that's awesome ^_^ and there's far more job options.

Back to WoW: Yes I'd say the U.S. servers may have a few more little kiddies on it, but get in a decent guild or make a few good friends and you'll NEVER have to deal with them. That's what I did haha. And after lvl60 in the US servers if you suck at gameplay you'll be laughed at. If you're an immature....kid...then you'll probably just get kicked from every group and badmouthed all over the place. So it's kinda the same. But I'd stick with friends hahahaha.

Re: the WoW thread

Yeah, the main thing to do is to become insanely skilled and get into a pro guild. If you don't then you'll have to rub elbows with the randoms.

Re: the WoW thread

I hear you guys. I didn't want to be in one of those hardcore pro guilds, both because I didn't want to raid 6or7 days a week + mat grinding etc, so I joined one of the more casual guilds and became the mage cl. We were the 5th best or something, but still casual so we had a nice reputation. We got around 5-10apps / day for a period of time and we kinda gave up on it because 90% of those we accepted for trials were people who lied about age/skill and were completely rubbish so they just whiped us T__T Even tho we were high ranked we thought that we'd be nice to accept players who were undergeared if they could be asked to gear up with our help... Well that just attracted hunders with spirit gear...

Noobs should be banished from high level / end-game.

Re: the WoW thread

Nah, too much money to be made with noobs. Blizz would never do that.

Shit, I remember raiding... When you're not grinding mats, you're raiding, and if you're not raiding, you're doing some other thing related to raiding. Felt a lot like work.

Re: the WoW thread

Yeah, it was fun to start but it was as if you didn't have a choice. You had to have those mats for the potions for raids. You had to show up for x amount of raids and you had to give 100% in raids until it ends, then you have to get new mats etc. I was lucky tho cuz I was tail/alch so I had a herbalist picking mats for potions, I made the potions and we split 50/50 so I didn't need to grind for that.

Re: the WoW thread

I was tailoring/ench with my lock. Gather shit, make shit, DE shit, sell shit, make money. :D

My friends and I did the same thing. We collectively had three tailors (different specs each), two enchanters, one herbalist, one alchemist, one skinner, one leatherworker, and two miners, and one JC. So we'd pool our resources together to get upgrades, pots, enchants, and oils quickly. We'd also AOE grind "Mana Forge: B'Naar" near Area 52 together to wipe entire populations out with a breeze (also to minimize gankage).

Re: the WoW thread

Sounds like if one of you wanted a new epic flying, you could gather the money in just one/two days :o
I kinda stayed away from my irl friends in wow , changed srv from them because irl they're mature and nice but in-game they're whining guildhoppers...

Tho in my guild I didn't have friends who collaborated like that, but I had access to some of the other officers accounts so if I wanted something I could log-on and get that ;x

It was fun to log-on his horde pvp char on another srv and place him (as a lock) under the stairs @ the bank in IF without heartstone or gear.

Re: the WoW thread

Nah, we were just doing some "work like raiding". So we had to pool money really quick, and in large amounts so that we could have more spare time for ourselves.

Re: the WoW thread

Oh, well, the fact remains that if you wanted, you could've earned shitloads of money...
That's actually very smart tho, to combine and do it so you don't have to spend 1-3hours / day before the raid.

Re: the WoW thread

I was herb/skinner. Loads of money for me. For the raiding, I'm with a clan that's been around since Starcraft. We've gone through pretty much all the WoW games and now we're just hanging on our forums waiting for SC2. So we had a good base for players, and all of us decided to be a casual guild and raid 3 or 4 days a week. We were making extremely good progress too. I'd merely show up for raids. We had like 5 guys who WANTED to play 24/7 so they grinded like...every mat possible haha.

Re: the WoW thread

It's because they nerfed everything to hell for the noobs to progress (and to get more noobs to play). That actually started in 3.0... whole reason why my friends and I quit in 3.1 (We were hoping for it to get balanced out...but it didn't).
