The egg, was just a copy of the egg tanpopo came out of, so I really think tanpopo will have some contributation to the storyline, besides being a companion for Himewari.
Oh, and I think it looked like the dream world, because Watanuki was seeing them through a dream, and that was why they were transparent.
And about watanuki being like the clone, it is a very interesting thought that they both have one blue eye, one....well....other eye. The clone syaoran has one brown eye and watanuki has one yellow eye, but it's still generally the same. But the major difference is that how they got their other eye. Syaoran taking it by force and Watanuki being given it.
I will be so happy when Fei Wong Reed comes into the xxxholic saga, because it only mentioned him once (and it could hardly be called a mention!)

I really something bad didn't happen to Yuuko-san.

Well the food lady seemed really angry!! What did she learn about Watnuki after easting his rice balls i wonder?

Anyway, more importantly, It's almost certain now that Doumeki knows whats going on. He wasn't bothered at all by the shop disapearing was he?

The shop itself isn't disappearing, but the kekkai around the shop is definitely completely gone now. Either Watanuki specifically said Maru and Moro because he now knows they are the ones holding the shop/kekkai in place or they are just the first names to come out of his head.

I am wondering where Mokona is actually, it's not related to the shop nor binded by Yuko. So technically it shouldn't disappear. Perhaps it's back to it's container in the treasure room.

I would agree that the chapter for Holic at the moment are way too short. I bet that if you join this chapter with the next one, it will work much better.

At lease the woman ate the food, that makes me think that this food arc is probably coming to an end at last!!

Folks,

I think the days of Yuuko is numbered as she's said that "her time" moves once again... Check the recent chapters in TRC she lets Sakura & Syaoran to break free from the tube, leading to their magic power to battle FWR by restoring the "memories" in different dimensions. Somehow I believe Yuuko has passed the shop to Watanuki, a reason for him to stay.

I still believe Doumeki has little idea of what exactly Watanuki is experiencing - esp in the dream world. Think about it, it's his unique position / perspective that could save / pull Watanuki away from danger. However, he just knows it's getting more important to guard Watanuki now because Yuuko, Mokona, Maru/Moro aren't around. So, I believe it's bothering him a lot as he couldn't comprehend the truth yet to be realized... the egg that would wouldn't even be eroded by acid rain, etc.

I revisit ch 160 - 173 to refresh my memory.

As for the girl who finally ate what Watanuki's made... w/ her expression shown, looks like she's still mad at Watanuki. Perhaps the wedding is canceled or her "perfect world" is falling apart and she blames him for that.

and that, my fellow readers, was the most useless adn dissapointing chapter in all of xxxholic history.... *sighs*
so, doumeki is smarter than he looks, (srry doumeki, i luv u.) and definetly knows more than he's letting on. yup. and yay for scary food lady. she can eat food! *claps hands sarcastically* doumeki, pleaz shoot her with ur arrows now. she's a mean scary lady who is probably about to slap watanuki for no good reason. why the hell is she so angry? i'd pay to eat sum of wata-kitty's riceballs. yup. mmmeeeaaannnnn scary lady!

kurofaikitty, don't be upset and we've come across ch like this one before: frustrated / confused certain arcs, e.g. watanuki's initial experience of the dream world (remember ch 143?)

That girl, no matter how odd she's (as w/ many Yuuko's clients before her), she shares something similar w/ Watanuki: he couldn't get the taste of the food he makes & she wouldn't wanna know the taste of the food she makes. She comes to the shop but it's not Yuuko herself directly dealing w/ her wish. Nothing's coincident! hehehe

It seems that not many find it truly surprising that the lady is so mad at Watanuki. Sure, she has been all "omg, i dont want to eat your stuff!!!!" all the arc, but I doubt she would be that mad without a reason.

Lets remember that Watanuki finds food to be the representation of people: it represents who they are and what they think of themselves. It has already been quite some time since he has taken the riceballs to her, and it's pretty much the same time since Yuuko dissappeared. We know how Yuuko and the others' sudden dissappearance from the shop has affected Watanuki negatively (add the events from the previous chapter to the mix), so maybe this has also affected his cooking in some way. The last riceballs he made probably contained part of those saddening feelings he has had. Perhaps those feelings actually got to the cooking lady, upsetting her because she knows how much Watanuki is suffering yet he doesnt stop visiting her, which has caused him some problems as well.

Well, thats what came to my mind when I read this chapter. I could be wrong, though (its CLAMP after all...). And Im still missing a few parts of xxxholic to read so I better read it all before commenting on what might happen next

That get me thinking, Yuuko and Doumeki has never cooked food that Watnuki has eaten. Is it because they don't want Watakuni to know more about their feelings?

Even Himawari-chan and Kohane-chan has given Watanuki food, this makes me think that although they are involved with the plot, they don't know about the wider story involving Watanuki.

Although I know that this whole deal with the food is really important (why else would they spend the past volume or whatever dealing with it?) I'm actually getting a little tired of it... >.>

And Doumeki obviously knows more than he's letting on to everyone; I'm curious as to how he knows though, and what part he'll play...

Well, me to. To much food is unhealty. You get fat. Somehow I don`t belive that Yuko can cook. Do Yuko even need to eat? Her time is frozen.

Well, I like how the lady now wear an agry face and not her usual fake smile. Of course, it could be a danger to Watanuki, unless she is faking. Or lying.
