Special Move Zero-shiki Serve was returned?

I know this was a long time ago but the Zero-shiki Serve should be unreturnable. Hits ground, rolls backwards yet somehow Sanada returned it. Shouldn't a rally be over COMPLETELY if the ball stops bouncing?

The one Sanada returned wasn't a perfect Zero Shiki iirc. If it was he probably picked it up the moment the ball hit the ground.

I just remembered that it only wasn't Sanada who was able to return a Zero-Degree Drop Shot. Atobe, too, was also able to return that kind of shot. However, he was only able to do that because Tezuka hit an imperfect Drop Shot due to his left arm injury.

No reason to suggest it wasn't a perfect Zero Shiki though. Sanada did say "that bastard must have multiplied the spin" - so it was just as strong, if not stronger. Sanada literally swiped the ground with Ka Rin Rai combo.

I think he was refering to the one Atobe returned, though the ball actually bounced there, so it wasn't a Zero Shiki anymore.

i think something like super rising should be able to retun zero shiki , although it was designed for tsubame gaeshi, so i wonder if the change of spin will end up giving it a 5th counter effect?

If you return the ball the second it hits the ground, does it not count because it doesn't bounce?

I don't know the tennis rule in this regards, is it the rule that the ball need to hit the ground or the ball need to bounce up?

Then again, in PoT world, they show that they have different rule regarding the 2 racquet+sportsmanship to our world. So this can be different as well.

From my interpretation, Zero Shiki shots never bounce twice regularly since they don't bounce, period. So I think it's fair to return them at any time before they've rolled into the net (which would presumably count as the second bounce).

Huh, that's interesting. So if the ball can be hit, and stay still on the floor somehow without moving at all (unlike shiki), that means that player can just walk up and hit it anytime he or she want?

Yeah, I believe so. Of course that's impossible in reality, but let's say the ZS shot doesn't make it to the net, I think the opponent could just walk up to it and chip it over. The return wouldn't be strong of course for obvious reasons, but yeah. I would assume the best time to return them is still right after they touch the ground because they probably move backwards too fast for the other player to catch up to them normally (although Sanada could most likely do it) and if the ball is too close to the net, it'll be difficult to return from that angle as well.

My interpretation is that Sanada returned the ball the very second the ball hit the ground, and before the ball had a chance to roll, which is entirely possible to accomplish even in real life.

theoretically a zero shiki serve shouldnt be able to be done in real life due to physics.
and it wasn't really able to be returned in the manga, but it happened,

only conclusion is Niou didnt perfect teh serve to a degree taht the highschooler could return it just once.

PoT would never have a 100% ace move. So I believe pros and highschoolers can return it. Just my own belief.
